Chapter 1123: The Hidden Market Welcomes Its New Hidden Master

  • Next Chapter

The loss of the Ito Family left them with nowhere to cry.

Most of their bases in the East were destroyed, and their partnership with the Beijing Royal Family was completely cut off.

They also had to face the wrath of the Darwin Family, living every day in fear and trepidation.

Many of the renovation plans they had established could not be executed at all.

Years of hard work seemed on the verge of being ruined.

The Ito Family gradually disappeared from the public eye.

But it was only temporary.

The Darwin Family was constantly watching them, with nationwide searches continuing.

You can run from the monk, but not the temple.

...

Beijing.

West City, Hidden Market.

The Hidden Market now has a completely new look.

A hundred years ago, the Hidden Market was a gathering place for cultivators, led by the Hidden Master.

After the fall of the Hidden Master, cultivators scattered like sand, turning the place into a hub of dubious dealings and a refuge for those with nowhere to hide from their crimes.

For years, no one touched the Hidden Market, except for the Yin Yue Sect and Rakshasa Gate who occupied it. Meanwhile, it awaited the return of a new Hidden Master.

And this new Hidden Master was none other than Wanqi Jingyi.

Now, he has become the new Hidden Master of the Hidden Market.

Since An Mingji and Gu Jin led a battle against Rakshasa Gate and the Yin Yue Sect, the place has become much quieter.

West City has always been the territory of the Wanqi Family, making Wanqi Jingyi’s takeover of the Hidden Market rightful.

The tranquility in the Hidden Market is due to Gu Jin and An Mingji clearing out the Yin Yue Sect and Rakshasa Gate.

Moreover, Wanqi Jingyi is Gu Jin’s disciple, a status sufficient for him to serve as the Hidden Master of the Hidden Market.

The Wanqi Family officially took over the Hidden Market without opposition.

Today, West City is bustling with activity.

On a highway a few miles from there, dozens of luxury cars lined up, a group of young men and women gathered together.

"Young Master Yu, how are we competing today?"

A young man with dyed yellow hair, holding an enchanting woman, spoke to a handsome young man leaning lazily against a blue sports car.

The young master was Yu Shuo.

Lately, his days were decadent and indulgent.

Hearing the yellow-haired man, Yu Shuo lifted his eyelids, his eyes as calm as still water.

"Whatever." His indifferent voice sounded.

"Whistle!" The yellow-haired man blew a whistle and grinned, shouting to the young men and women not far away, "Did you hear? Young Master Yu said today is whatever!"

"We heard it!"

"Young Master Yu is generous!"

"Way to go..."

Praises echoed all around.

The yellow-haired man turned back: "Great! Today we’re going big!"

He glanced at the car behind Yu Shuo, his eyes lighting up with unhidden admiration: "Young Master Yu, your car is nice. I heard there isn’t another like it in the country. Let’s race a lap on Pan Mountain Road. If you lose, give me your car. If I lose, you can take any of my cars!"

Yu Shuo hadn’t spoken yet when the people around them started making a fuss.

"Damn! You’re cunning!"

"Yeah, yellow-hair, that’s unfair! Your car is worth peanuts compared to Young Master Yu’s, which could buy ten of yours!"

Yellow-hair was annoyed: "Go, go, go, I’m not racing against you!"

The uproar turned to laughter, and yellow-hair turned to look at Yu Shuo, his eyes full of expectation: "So, what do you say, Young Master Yu?"

"Alright!"

Yu Shuo stood up, opened the car door, and got in.

"I’ve always admired Young Master Yu’s free spirit!"

Yellow-hair pushed aside the woman in his arms and turned to get into his car.

The uproar around them rose again; the excitement of tonight’s race reached its peak.

Truth be told, none of these spoiled rich kids knew Yu Shuo’s true identity.

He’d joined this circle recently, straightforward yet generous, and up for anything.

So yellow-hair and the others enjoyed playing with him.

The referee walked to the middle of the road, yellow-hair and Yu Shuo’s cars already at the starting line.

Just waiting for the referee’s signal to officially start tonight’s race.

"Yu Shuo!"

Before the referee could act, an angry shout came from not far away.

With the surrounding uproar, the voice was drowned out.

But sitting in the car, Yu Shuo heard the familiar voice.

He sat in the car, his face indifferent and unconcerned.

The referee’s flag finally fell, and Yu Shuo floored the accelerator, the expensive blue sports car shooting forward.

Yellow-hair was a second behind but soon caught up.

The crowd behind shouted and screamed.

Jiang Hanyi, along with Yu Shuo’s two disciples, Han Xiyuan and Miao Jiayi, hurriedly followed but were still a step too late.

Yu Shuo had already driven off.

Seeing his reckless driving made people nervous.

The one who’d just called after Yu Shuo was Jiang Hanyi.

Chen Palace was already in chaos; the next heir had snuck out. The teachers responsible for Yu Shuo, finding an empty room, were tearless.

They’d long lost count of how many times they’d missed him.

Initially worried and angry, they’d grown accustomed to it now.

Yet they still had a smoldering anger in their hearts.

A year later, Yu Shuo would ascend the throne. If they produced an inept monarch, where would they show their old faces?

Tonight, Yu Shuo snuck out of Chen Palace again, Jiang Hanyi learned of it and immediately led Yu Shuo’s two disciples in search of him.

Finding Yu Shuo was easy.

If not at a Hidden Market bar, then at Beijing’s Pan Mountain Road racing scene.

Besides indulgence, Yu Shuo’s only interest now was thrilling races.

"Damn!" Jiang Hanyi stood at the starting line, looking at the road where the car had disappeared, and couldn’t help but curse lowly.

Yu Shuo sped down the uneven mountain road, everything around becoming a blur, as if he were traversing time, isolated from the world.

This feeling relaxed him oddly both in body and mind.

Being in the scene so often, he was very familiar with the surroundings.

Ahead was a sharp turn; he instinctively turned the wheel, the car almost taking off due to his sharp maneuver.

Luckily, disaster was averted, and he made the turn smoothly.

The numbers on the car’s dashboard continued to soar until they reached the limit.

Yu Shuo’s expression was relaxed yet unrestrained, the sounds of pursuit coming from behind—yellow-hair was catching up.

Listening to the pursuing sounds from behind, Yu Shuo’s lips curled up slowly, his face showing a fierce expression.

He slowed down a bit, yellow-hair’s car close behind, both cars moving fast.

Suddenly, Yu Shuo hit the brakes hard.

"Bang!"

The two cars collided without any doubt, the rear of Yu Shuo’s car deforming from the impact.

Without getting out of the car, Yu Shuo knew how bad his car looked.

In the back, yellow-hair was mortified, sweat breaking out on his forehead, staring dumbly at the crumpled back of the blue sports car.

How on earth would he compensate, even by selling himself, he couldn’t afford it.

Yu Shuo didn’t care what yellow-hair was thinking. His lips curled into a cold smile, feet on the accelerator, speeding off.
