Chapter 2001: Chapter 2003: No News Is Good News

They say children’s eyes are pure, able to see what adults can’t. Did Qi Xiaoqi see something when he said that?

Cheng Su lightly scolded, "Xiao Qi, don’t talk nonsense. I’ve told you not to watch so much of Sun Wukong."

Qi Xiaoqi pouted, lowering his head with a look of grievance, moving his little mouth, muttering something unclear.

"You kid." Cheng Su awkwardly laughed, poking his head, "After we get back, no more TV for you." She then said to everyone, "After watching Journey to the West, he even insists he’s the Great Sage Sun!"

Well, that laugh was quite forced.

"Alright, why blame him, these kids don’t know any better, right?" Sister-in-law Cheng pulled Qi Xiaoqi over with a tender expression, huffing several times, and said, "The things Old Third collects, many of them are quite ancient, so it’s not surprising to acquire one or two spirited ones."

Meaning, even if Xiao Qi says it’s real, it wouldn’t be surprising.

"Xiao Qi, your third uncle has a lot of old stuff. Come with Da Jiumu, I’ll give you some snacks, okay?" Sister-in-law Cheng coaxed Qi Xiaoqi, then said to Cheng Yaoyao, "Third Uncle, now that Beibei is born, you should set up another space for your collection room; we wouldn’t want to scare the kids!"

It seems Sister-in-law Cheng believed what Xiao Qi said.

Cheng Su looked at Qi Xiaoqi, who also looked back at her. She awaited his reaction, wondering how he’d handle this situation.

"No need for that, Sister-in-law. This kid has a knack for spouting nonsense; probably just a lucky guess!" Cheng Su laughed as she spoke.

"Yeah, Sister-in-law, there are always plenty of times when things just slip out; don’t be so anxious. Come on, Xiao Qi, Third Uncle will take you to have a look!" Cheng Yaoyao picked up Qi Xiaoqi.

Qi Xiaoqi went upstairs with Cheng Yaoyao.

The living room’s atmosphere turned a bit strange for a moment. Cheng Su silently blamed Qi Xiaoqi, thinking his showing-off now had everyone wondering if there was something unclean in the house!

Just as she was about to change the subject, Old Master Cheng invited Cheng Su to sit down, saying, "Kids just say what they think; no need to take it to heart. Xiao Qi is a smart kid. You, as parents, should nurture him well so as not to waste his potential."

Cheng Su could only nod and smile in agreement.

"Since you’ve all moved here, when can Taiguo come back?" Old Master Cheng asked.

Cheng Su shook her head, "I’m not sure about that. Initially, it was said to be between six months to a year, but there’s been no call back, and I have no idea what’s going on!"

Every time Qi Taiguo is mentioned, she feels a bit depressed; the promised six months have long passed, yet he’s still not seen.

"You shouldn’t worry too much. As the saying goes, no news is good news. Maybe his task isn’t finished yet. Just wait patiently." Old Master Cheng comforted her.

Cheng Su nodded.

If there were any bad news, Ning Gang would have likely called her by now. Since there’s been no call, it probably means he’s still on his mission!

Cheng Su could only comfort herself this way. Otherwise, if she kept worrying about when he’d return or if something happened, how could she possibly live?

Downstairs, Old Master Cheng and the others chatted about all sorts of things, while upstairs, Cheng Yaoyao led Qi Xiaoqi into his specially set up collection room.

"Xiao Qi, you have to carefully check if there’s any fake in this stuff," Cheng Yaoyao said seriously to Qi Xiaoqi. "Third Uncle is preparing to open his own collection exhibition. If there’s any fake, money is a minor issue, but reputation is the major one!"

Qi Xiaoqi innocently replied, "Third Uncle, I’m just a kid."

Cheng Yaoyao patted his head and walked away. Qi Xiaoqi began to wander around the room, and out of Cheng Yaoyao’s sight, he sighed. When would he grow up?
