Chapter 254 -191: 2 Emails

As for employee salaries, Huang Yiyi made 30,000 a month, and Sun Yu made 8,000. Yunqing and Shen Yan were both interns, earning 250 a day. Even if they both worked 20 days a month, that would only be 10,000.

Added together, the monthly personnel cost was just a little over 50,000.

Add in miscellaneous daily expenses like utilities and office supplies, and a generous estimate would be another 10,000 a month.

So, the company’s total monthly expenses were only around 70,000.

And now, Chen Lin was looking to hire two high-end programmers.

As for Bai Qian, they hadn’t discussed a specific salary yet, but based on his resume and skills, Chen Lin planned to offer him 80,000 a month after taxes.

As for Pan Si, he had gotten straight to the point in his email, requesting an after-tax monthly salary of 100,000.

That would cause the company’s monthly personnel costs to skyrocket to 230,000.

Factoring in other expenses, the total monthly cost would be somewhere between 250,000 and 300,000.

Meanwhile, Yanhai Company’s current price per project was 5 million.

In other words, as long as they could land one project each month, the company would be profitable.

And comfortably so.

At this thought, Chen Lin couldn’t help but marvel internally.

‘High-end consulting really is where the money’s at!’

‘Low costs, high profits… it’s practically a license to print money!’

‘Of course, that’s only if you have the technical expertise to back it up.’

Just as he was thinking this, Chen Lin’s phone suddenly vibrated.

He instinctively picked it up and glanced at the screen, seeing a WeChat notification that a friend request had been accepted.

Annie_Brunt has accepted your friend request. You can start chatting now.

Chen Lin raised an eyebrow and opened the chat window.

A message from her arrived almost instantly.

Annie_Brunt: Hi! Chen Lin! I finally got you on WeChat!

This was immediately followed by a series of messages that flooded the screen.

Annie_Brunt: I was looking all over for you at the dinner after the math conference, but you had already left. I was so disappointed!

Annie_Brunt: Then Professor Moitra reminded me that you have a company called Yanhai Consulting, right?

Annie_Brunt: So I looked up your company’s website, found the email address, and sent you a message!

Annie_Brunt: I didn’t expect you to add me so quickly! This is great!

Looking at the string of messages, all brimming with excitement, Chen Lin couldn’t help but smile.

‘This Annie is certainly enthusiastic.’

He thought for a moment before replying:

Chen Lin: Hello, Annie. My apologies. Something urgent came up on the day of the math conference, so I had to leave early. I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye.

The moment he sent the message, she replied.

Annie_Brunt: No worries, no worries at all! Your presentation that day was just so amazing!

Annie_Brunt: My advisor, Professor Moitra, was beyond excited after seeing your proof!

Annie_Brunt: He said you’re the most talented young mathematician he’s ever seen!

Annie_Brunt: And get this, several of the senior students in our lab are already studying how to apply your algorithm to practical AI models!

Reading this, Chen Lin’s interest was piqued.

‘It seems my demonstration at the conference made a bigger splash in the academic world than I thought.’

Annie_Brunt: By the way, Chen Lin, do you have any plans to come to the USA as a visiting scholar? Or maybe do a PhD at MIT?

Annie_Brunt: If you do, I can show you around! Boston is a ton of fun!

Chen Lin shook his head with a smile as he read the message and typed back his reply:

Chen Lin: I don’t have any plans for that at the moment. I’m quite happy here in China, plus I have my own company to run, so I can’t really get away.

Annie_Brunt: Aww, okay. But if you ever change your mind, you have to let me know!

Chen Lin: Will do.

They chatted for a little while longer before Chen Lin made an excuse, saying he had to get back to work, and ended the conversation.

Putting down his phone, Chen Lin let out a long breath and turned his attention back to his computer screen.
