He took it out of his pocket.

It was circular, with rows of seats circling across the place. A large podium was in the center of the lecture hall.

Adjacent to the podium, there were large empty spaces stretching across the place.

These spaces were designed for practical demonstrations by the professors. Several weapons also hung across weapon racks by the walls lining the empty spaces.
