Ascension Of The Blood Supreme

Chapter 200. Power is Power.

The Lodgekeeper floated above the four city lords who were currently bashing their heads in fear on the floor for mercy.

The troops of the four city lords trailed behind them in shock, fear, and puzzlement.

The numbers combined were about 2,000.

And yet... a single man had subdued them all.

Battlesuits did not matter.

Numbers did not matter...

In the face of overwhelming power...

Everyone watching what was happening realized this...

Power was power.

The Lodgekeeper looked at them for a moment, then turned.

Just when they thought he was giving them the cue to leave...

Puchi... puchi... puchi...

The heads of the 2,000 troops and the city lords slid off their necks and rolled to a stop on the sand.

Expressions of shock, fear, and regret were on the faces of the four city lords.

The same applied to their troops.

Thud...

Thud...

Thud...

Thud...

Thud...

Bodies fell like rain on the ground, staining the yellow sand crimson.

Aiden’s microscopic crimson blades turned into blobs of blood and returned into him.

He absorbed the blood essence of the corpses.

Suddenly, Aiden felt the accumulated blood essence within his being resonate with each other. He had reached the threshold of accumulated blood essence needed to break through.

An extremely strong surge of strength passed through his body.

His body felt lighter, and more powerful.

His range of vision, smell, and hearing had increased dramatically, several times more than before.

He closed his eyes slightly. His range of absorption of blood essence was now 5 kilometers.

"An addition of two kilometers. This is huge," Aiden thought. "I’ve fulfilled my objective of getting my power to the level of a beginner Rank 3 warrior and forging an identity before I arrive at the southern seaport. Now, what is left is to wait for the transport to the southern seaport to arrive and leave the Kahra Desert."

Aiden was satisfied.

It was not every day that things went according to plan.

Life was unpredictable, after all.

As for the residents of MadCity, they were still shocked by everything they had seen.

Headless bodies and heads lay strewn across the desert, stretching endlessly towards the distance.

Even for criminals, outcasts, retired crime lords, mercenaries, and traffickers, the sight was extremely chilling to see.

The Lodgekeeper had proven today that he could not be messed with.

He had not even been in MadCity for a week.

Yet... not only had he outmaneuvered and eliminated Madmax, he had manipulated and killed six other veteran Legendary Rank 2 warriors alongside thousands of their troops effortlessly.

These were powers that had dominated this region of the Kahra Desert for decades.

But... a single man had brought an end to them.

News of his feat would travel to other cities neighboring MadCity and its six neighboring cities, whose city lords he had killed.

The residents of MadCity, watching the City Lord turn into a streak towards the City Lord’s residence, thought.

The city lords of those cities would definitely take advantage of this opportunity to claim the five remaining cities for themselves. However, they would never dare to target MadCity.

They were not stupid. They wouldn’t want to get themselves killed.

As for why those city lords would want to claim the cities of the six city lords the Lodgekeeper had killed for themselves, it was pretty much obvious.

The Lodgekeeper did not look like someone who wanted to rule.

If he enjoyed ruling so much, he wouldn’t have left the administrative matters of MadCity in the hands of the Dickinsons.

It was obvious that he would not want to assimilate these cities into his territory.

But one thing was certain.

The name of the Lodgekeeper would spread through the Kahra Desert from now on.

The City Lord of MadCity was a terrifying madman. There was not a single person in the Kahra Desert who would dare to cross him from now on.

****

MadCity.

City Lord’s residence.

Outside the manor.

The city enforcers, maids, butlers, district lords and the Dickinsons were all gathered here.

All of them had performed a waist-length bow.

Including the Dickinsons.

They were all shaking in fear.

The image of the massacre they had just observed would be forever imprinted into their minds.

The polite City Lord who smiled with them every day and spoke to each of them with respect was a terrifying madman.

Even when killing his enemies, he was polite.

He was someone who treated killing like a chore.

They already knew that his politeness was not a weakness. He didn’t see the need to act proud and arrogant to get things done. Such things were beneath him.

But they couldn’t help but fear the man more at this point.

They were so afraid that if they did not come here to greet him before he entered the villa, maybe he’d kill them all on a whim.

"Son, do you think this is a good idea?" Dickinson’s father said to his son, his voice shaking as he kept his head bowed low to the ground. "If we stand out here like this, won’t it look like we are spying on him? What if he gets angry?"

"Father, just keep bowing and stay quiet," Dickinson said as cold sweat streamed down his face. "If we stay inside, it might look like we don’t respect him. Being terrified and obedient is the only safe choice right now. Just pray he is not in a bad mood."

Quiet footsteps approached.

Aiden landed gently on the ground. His small crimson wings in his clothes disappeared into him.

He walked silently toward the manor in his slippers and summer shorts, passing the rows of trembling enforcers, maids, and butlers.

He was surprised they had gathered here. What were these people trying to do?

He shook his head. It didn’t matter to him.

He stopped right in front of Dickinson.

The old man’s heart beat fast in fear. He was terrified that the man would kill him in a bad mood.

"Mr. Dickinson," Aiden said, "Why are you sweating so much? Is the cooling system in the manor broken?"

Dickinson’s father said, struggling to speak, "N-No, Senior Turner! Everything is working fine. We just came out to welcome you back."

"I see," Aiden said. "I will be going to my room to rest now."

"Yes, City Lord!" Elder Dickinson said, bowing even lower until his head almost touched the floor.

No one could blame him. How were they supposed to react to what the City Lord had just done?

He turned to the chief maid, Leticia, "Kindly tell the kitchen to prepare some food for me."

"Yes, sir," Leticia said politely, her voice trembling in fear.

Aiden walked past them and pushed open the glass doors of the villa with his hands tucked in his pockets.

The group sighed in relief and dispersed.
