Ascension Of The Blood Supreme
Chapter 186. The legend of the Lodgekeeper.
The next morning, the bounty hunter left the lodge and the town.
"I don’t know whether he was sent by the Order or the Cyrenthia Empire Military. But things are playing out as I theorised. I’m sure he’s not the only assassin after my life. Several of them must have definitely spread across the southern continent and even the other continents. It’s a good thing I was careful to alter my identity and how I use my affinity," Aiden thought.
Suddenly, Aiden’s phone buzzed.
[Thank you dear. We are currently headed towards a cultivation mountain in the capital to cultivate. That was one of the rewards of being in the top ten of the competition. Love you. The others extend their greetings. Stay safe]
Desmonda had replied to his message.
[Love you too. Take care of yourselves,] Aiden replied.
[We will,] she replied back.
Aiden sent a like emoticon and went offline.
"A cultivation mountain, huh. A mountain of a very high altitude with naturally concentrated worldly natural energy for cultivation. This will really help their cultivation to progress."
Aiden smiled.
Aiden closed the lodge. Today, he was not entertaining any customers. He wanted to take the day off and relax.
He headed upstairs to his residence.
He decided to relax by reading some online novels he had previously not caught up on.
After that, he played some games, and watched some movies.

The remaining two weeks in Rustwater Lodge went by in the blink of an eye.
Today, the Rustwater lodge was closed.
Two people stepped out of the Lodge, the mysterious lodgekeeper and the only remaining resident of the lodge.
Naturally, this remaining resident of the lodge was Dickinson.
Today was the day the city enforcers from MadCity would be arriving to collect taxes from the town Lord.
Also, anyone who wanted to leave Rustwater town would have the opportunity to pay the transport and join the vehicle that would be headed to MadCity.
Aiden and Dickinson headed to the gates of the town.
When he arrived there, Vanity was there.
He was talking to a group of expert rank 2 warriors.
The expert rank 2 warriors tapped on some devices and nodded to Vanity.
"The transaction is complete sir. See you next month."
"Pleasure doing business with you," Vanity replied.
Aiden looked at the vehicle outside the gates. It was heavily fortified and metallic.
He simply walked towards it with Dickinson.
Vanity saw them.
"So he’s really leaving, huh. Who’s that person with him? Must be someone headed towards MadCity, I guess," Vanity thought.
He walked towards the lodgekeeper.
He performed a waist length bow.
"Thank you for everything, senior."
When the enforcers from MadCity saw this, they were shocked.
Vanity was an expert rank 2 warrior, just like them. He was calling someone else senior?
Who the hell was this mysterious young man?
It seemed they had to treat this person with respect. Just because they were enforcers of the city Lord didn’t mean they should go about offending people.
This person was most likely a legendary rank 2 warrior! If not, why would Vanity call him senior?
They also looked at the advanced rank 2 warrior with the mysterious man Vanity had bowed to.
They didn’t recognize him from anywhere.
Aiden nodded politely to Vanity.
"Here are the keys to the lodge," Aiden said.
He handed over the keys to Vanity. He didn’t have any need for it anymore. What was the point of keeping the keys with him when he was leaving the town?
"Thank you, Senior. I will manage the lodge with care," Vanity said.
Aiden sighed. Why was this guy acting like he was handing him a family heirloom?
Never mind.
Vanity turned around and headed through the gates into the town.
Before Aiden and Dickinson stepped into the vehicle, several townsmen were already on the walls.
"He’s really leaving!"
"Damn it. The town won’t be as lively as it was anymore!"
"Indeed."
"In case of a chaotic beast tide we can’t handle, who will step up for us?"
"Its only natural. Someone like the senior cannot rot in a small place like this."
"Sigh. I really wanted to get into the pants of the senior."
"Shut up, girl. Not even those female town Lords who arrived here could get his attention."
"That’s right. This man is such a mystery. Seriously. Usually, most gentlemen would run at every opportunity to get into a woman’s pants. Especially with the kind of power he has. But he doesn’t even spare any woman a second glance."
"That makes him more attractive in my opinion."
"Yeah he is. But what can you do? You can only keep daydreaming about him right?"
"Hehe."
"But the legend of the Lodgekeeper will remain in Rustwater lodge forever."
"No doubt about that."
The MadCity enforcers were very polite to the mysterious senior.
"Senior, please..." One even offered to open the door to the vehicle for him.
"Thank you." Aiden nodded politely.
Dickinson followed and entered the vehicle.
The doors closed as the MadCity enforcers entered the car too.
As for the Rustwater townsmen, they naturally didn’t want the lodgekeeper to leave.
Some of them had found the lodge to be a haven of safety. It seemed this moment was short-lived.
Now, they had no choice but to face those that wanted trouble with them.
Also, in case they experienced a chaotic beast tide the town Lord and the strength of the residents could not handle, who would come to their aid.
They knew the Lodgekeeper was not a hero. He always acted based on his interest. But still, some of his actions had been indirectly beneficial to the town.
They could only sigh.
The vehicle closed and bolted off, kicking up a cloud of dust, and leaving trails of wheels in its wake.
Under the collective gazes of the townsmen of Rustwater Town, the car disappeared on the horizon.
The mysterious lodgekeeper had arrived in Rustwater town, and kicked up a storm. After that, he had left like a phantom with no name, and no identity...
He was like a ghost passing through the town.
They wondered. What sort of storm would he cause wherever he went next?
