Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 905 - 509: Embers of the Long Night (Part 18)_2

The Elder Marshal suddenly looked up, his eyes shimmering with brilliance.

Meanwhile, five kilometers away, the elderly man sitting inside the command vehicle with closed eyes opened them upon hearing the sound. The secretary stopped the moving convoy and handed the tablet showing the current situation to the old man.

Without hesitation, the old man took a glance and ordered the convoy to return.

Even faster than when they left!

The sky above the battlefield had already turned ghostly blue. Su Huan squinted his eyes as he glanced around and commented, disappointed, "Why is it just you? Where’s the other one?"

Crossing miles to come here ready to capture them all in one go, only managing to catch one doesn’t make sense.

Recill, at this moment, felt the despair of Jessie. When he detected Su Huan, the opponent had long locked onto him, and he could feel Su Huan’s aura was even stronger than when he first entered the Eternal Night Zone.

Worse yet, he had no teammates around him at the moment; Marcus had chased off after the enemy’s high command during the fight, leaving Recill alone facing Su Huan.

Recill spoke in a hoarse voice, "How did you find us so quickly?"

Su Huan irritably pointed at the worn-out combat boot on his foot, "I practically ran through a pair of shoes." Then he rubbed his palm and flashed a toothy grin, "Alright, put that person you’re holding aside; let’s have a good chat about all the hardship along the way!"

Started running since receiving the message, not sure where those Tier Two guys behind him ended up, finally catching up during the opponent’s MVP settlement—if he’d been slightly later, it would have been too late.

Recill glanced at the nut in his hand, a trace of hesitation flashed in his eyes, "Your Highness, if I do as you say, can you spare my life?"

Before he finished speaking, a thunderous hand smacked down upon him.

"Spare your ass, bargaining with me!"

With a booming sound, Recill’s white flame erupted, the nut in his hand flying off to the side.

Su Huan increasingly enjoyed the feeling of using this thunderous hand to smack people. If it weren’t for concern over the opponent holding the Tier Three Evolver, this one smack alone could cripple him.

"Wait a minute!" Recill screamed sharply.

Su Huan wasn’t that patient, smacking away first, then directly reversing Wanxiang to seal and savor him.

Feeling the familiar life force transmitting through his limbs, Su Huan suddenly got a bit addicted.

The feeling was like plugging in a power bank in the phone’s final thirty seconds, bringing immense mental satisfaction.

The whole operation left both the nut and the Elder Marshal in the command center silent.

The pale demon, viewed as a life-and-death nemesis, seemed no more imposing than a cartoon villain before this person, easily dealt with like a joke.

Their mental system comparing powers was thrown off balance, briefly plunging them into numbness and bewilderment.

Meanwhile, Su Huan, despite being overwhelmed, remembered the task at hand. He turned to look at the nut, struggling to stand, "Where’s the other one?"

The latter was initially startled, attempted to shake his head, then nodded.

Though unaware of Marcus’s whereabouts, he presumed the general direction was towards the command center.

"Do you know or not?"

Su Huan frowned slightly; the sky changed color, air seemed to freeze momentarily, invisible waves arose abruptly. Just the hint of murderous intent sufficed to stun the nut’s heart, making him feel tossed into the Arctic depths.

He spat blood, collapsed to the ground.

"Eh?"

"Eh, eh??"

Now it was Su Huan’s turn to be dumbfounded.

He admitted his current bio-field was quite intimidating, but it wasn’t fully unleashed—could a Tier Three Evolver not withstand even this amount of pressure?

Isn’t this plainly playing possum?

After a moment of daze, Su Huan’s gaze shifted to the double blades beneath him.

The nut felt Su Huan’s attention drift away from himself, struggled to open his eyes, saw the opponent picking up [Roar], his heart jumped in alarm, just wanting to stop him, but instead heard him muttering, "What a crappy knife, why are there burrs on the handle..."

Then she watched wide-eyed as Su Huan pressed the blood-drawing burrs on the [Roar] handle back in, wielding it like a regular chopping knife, even hearing the lamenting cry from the [Roar] blade.

What does this have to do with me?

The exhaustion and pain of using [Roar] flooded, even thinking became stagnant.

Vaguely, the nut sensed Su Huan squatting beside him.

The nut struggled, "I’m done for; don’t waste time, hurry and..."

"It’s fine, can enjoy it hot."

The woman’s dazed eyes widened, this person, this person...

"How could he be like this!"

Nut abruptly sat up from the bed, looked around at the distinctly medical room setting, froze, scanned the surroundings to spot Xiaomi, who was guarding nearby.

Upon hearing the sound, Xiaomi exclaimed excitedly, "Boss Nut, you’re awake?"

Nut asked solemnly, "How much time has passed? What happened to that man? How are the battles going?"

Xiaomi quickly replied, "Just over ten minutes, the battlefield hasn’t been cleaned up yet, that person is talking with the Marshal, he said your body is fine now, but the Marshal insisted you get checked..."

"Was it him who saved me?"

"Should be the case, I’ll call someone to examine you then."

"No need, where is he, take me there."

Nut interrupted Xiaomi, responded forcefully.

On the way, her mind was plagued by that damn phrase "can enjoy it hot," despite being immune to such high-caliber crude jokes from growing up in the military; yet this one made her itch.

On the ground floor, Nut saw Su Huan and the Elder Marshal, accompanied by Xiaomi and others.

The evacuated evolvers had nearly all returned, adopting respectful yet cautiously tense postures.

But Nut, having personally witnessed Su Huan dispatch Recill, knew better than anyone that if Su Huan were to make a move, not even at her peak strength could she withstand a single blow.

Before she approached, the man turned around.

Whether it was changing clothes or shaving, he looked particularly handsome, those eyes slightly shaded when he smiled.

"Recovery surpasses my expectations, is it due to the environment?"

Nut nodded, offered a salute after, declared solemnly, "United Command Evolver Special Operations Battalion Captain, Tier Three ’Night Huntress’ Geng Qiu, nickname Nut."

Su Huan raised an eyebrow as a return gesture, "Su Huan, you can also call me..."

"Commander Su?"

"Train Captain!"

Su Huan corrected.

"By the way, isn’t the other person here yet?"

Su Huan turned to the Elder Marshal.

"Apologies, with age comes a bit of slowness, this short distance took forever to cover," a warm aged voice came from the nearby elevator, the secretary cautiously holding his hand.

Su Huan finally saw a familiar face, not the most prominent one from before, but one always noticeable in a frame, seeing Three seemed as though two years of struggle faded to dream-like shadows, leaving distant contours only.

Confronting an elder surpassing his ancestors’ age, even a Train Captain felt mixed emotions.

He had envisioned countless inquiries, yet at this moment couldn’t decide what to ask.

In contrast, the elder approached first, scrutinized him earnestly then amidst the crowd’s shock held his hand, gently spoke, "Someone asked me to convey a message to you."

Su Huan found the elder’s benevolent demeanor uncomfortable; normally he’d say something sarcastic to ease the mood.

Although much has changed within him, the Train Captain still wasn’t accustomed to excessive warmth.

"What message?"

"Child, you’ve been through a lot."

"Who? Yang Cunyi."

Su Huan’s narrow eyes squinted into slits, devoid of any sentiment, only rife with suspicion.

I don’t seem to know him, right?

Even though my memory is not great, logically, as an orphan, it should be impossible to be intimately linked with a Donghuang Major General, no?

[Feeling quite tormented, language logic became muddled while writing, failing to string sentences, yet no leave slip, truly painful]
