The wind and snow howled again, but couldn’t cover the sound of crying, like a whip lashing the heart.

Yu Yue buried her face deep into his neck side, her icy nose pressed against his soaking wet collar, her whole body trembling violently, crying like a child, tears mixing with the snow, soaking through his shirt, burning her skin painfully.

He could feel the two frequencies of heartbeats transmitted from Yu Yue’s body, each beat tugging at his heartstrings, carrying the thrill of blood connection.

Yu Yue cried on his shoulder, speaking intermittently and chokingly.

"Mom left, then Dad left too, leaving only me and my sister... That day she told me she also had her own family..."

"I feel like I’m an extra person, I’m very scared, I don’t know what to do, I also don’t know what I should do..."

"Until the day Xiaojing came to find me... I regained motivation, it was supposed to be me taking care of her, but I couldn’t do anything, I was indecisive and weak, pretending to be an adult every day, if it weren’t for Xiaojing I wouldn’t have survived."

"Then you bullied me, I was very scared, but now I’m even more scared of the days without you..."

"I can accept Shu Wei, can accept Lord Lian, Tan Yunxi, even Xiaoxi..."

"I thought I had a family, I thought everything would get better, but your behavior scares me..."

"Su Huan, I’m very afraid you’ll leave..."

She poured all her unspoken fears, all her grievances hidden in the courtyard, into these few sentences while crying.

The wind and snow seemed to sense these overwhelming emotions, sometimes howling, sometimes spiraling, snowflakes colliding in the air, like a god’s song.

Su Huan froze for a few seconds, finally, slowly, forcefully hugged her back, pressing her head even harder on his shoulder and neck, as if to meld her into his body.

Their world was left with tight embraces, and the vibration of five intertwining heartbeats.

Yu Yue didn’t know how long she cried, but feeling Su Huan’s warm embrace, she didn’t want to move at all. She feared this man, but loved this man to the bone.

Sniffing her nose, she whispered, "Where are we going?"

"Home."

"Home?"

Hearing this word, Yu Yue perked up a bit, her almond eyes slightly widening, carefully observing Su Huan’s expression.

She feared Su Huan would act like he did at the orphanage.

Finding no signs of maniacal laughter, she slightly relaxed.

But Su Huan’s next sentence sent a chill down her spine.

"My mom told me to be nicer to you."

Feeling her whole body tension, Su Huan laughed heartily, not that sinister smile but a cheerful one, eyes creased.

Knowing she was being teased, Yu Yue huffed softly, buried her head, ignoring him.

"We’re here."

"Ah?"

Yu Yue turned her head, before her was a plain bungalow, mostly buried in snow, beside an endless field, now covered in snow, deserted.

Su Huan held the woman as he walked towards the house, his voice gentle and firm.

"This is our home now."

A couple leaned by the roadside, looking at them with satisfaction.

...

The house was mostly buried in snow, Su Huan didn’t use any abilities, like an ordinary person, he used a shovel to dig bit by bit, climbed onto the roof to clean little by little. Luckily, he didn’t tire, and in two days, he cleared the snow outside the house thoroughly.

He even cleared a bit of the road outside, the snow sculpted into a manicured fence for the yard, two round snowmen sitting in the courtyard.

While he was busy, Yu Yue cleaned inside the house, wiped the stove, cleaned the bed.

Like a true couple living.

A basin of hot water poured onto the concrete floor, driving out the last of the dust through the door.

"Dinner’s ready." Yu Yue carried the basin, watching Su Huan manipulate the snowball, "Haven’t finished piling yet?"

"Still need a small one, but there’s time to finish tomorrow."

Su Huan stuck the shovel in the nearby snow pile, patted off the snow on his hands, and walked inside, nose close to Yu Yue’s neck sniffing, "It smells so good, what’s for dinner today?"

"Lamb meat buns and knot soup."

As soon as Yu Yue spoke, her face suddenly blanched, the smile vanished from her eyes as if she had done something wrong, carefully observing Su Huan’s expression.

Su Huan’s lips had a faint smile, his hand roamed her waist, "Meat buns, huh, got chili oil?"

Yu Yue immediately brightened up, "I do!"

"Add some vinegar."

"Got it too!"

The little cook was filled with some pride.

When she came, she brought a whole backpack full of ingredients and condiments, enough to make lots of food.

The night covered all around, flames burned fiercely in the empty bottom of the pot, heat flowed through the flue to the fire wall and fire bed, the two sat on the bed, with a small square table on top, a wax candle stuck in the corner with wax, the warm flame reflected their faces on the window.

Yu Yue elbowed the table, her shiny eyes looking at the man opposite.

"And then? What happened to Bunny and Doggy?"

Su Huan looked at the woman’s delicate and gentle brows and eyes. His three hearts skipped a beat.

"Bunny ate Doggy."

"Nonsense, how can a rabbit eat a dog?"

"Oh, then it was Doggy who ate Bunny..."

Listening to his analogy, Yu Yue’s face showed a hint of embarrassment, "Hmph, I’m not talking to you anymore."

"How beautiful."

Su Huan’s near-murmured whisper was caught by Yu Yue.

Her cheeks appeared even more flushed.

The woman couldn’t resist fiddling with her hair, pretending to be demure, "Hmph, I’m not talking to you anymore, I’m going to sleep."

Before she could retreat a safe distance, she was seized by the wrist by Su Huan.

Looking at those scorching dark eyes, Yu Yue felt herself heat up all over, her voice trembling slightly, "What are you doing?"

"Let’s get married."

"You... what?"

Yu Yue’s almond-shaped eyes widened slightly, shock and an incredulous joy simultaneously appeared.

"Marry me."

Su Huan spoke each word clearly. It wasn’t a question but almost a command with dominance.

Yet in Yu Yue’s eyes, it seemed to become the most beautiful love words.

Tears almost instinctively flowed from her eyes, but were gently wiped away.

Yu Yue covered her mouth, turned her head, and stubbornly said, "No."

"Why?"

Su Huan was puzzled.

"What about Shu Wei and the others?"

"It’s okay, together."

"Tsk, debauched and shameless!"

"Oh."

"Wait, there’s someone outside."

"Ignore them."

The candlelight flickered, frost flowers covered the windows.

The two decided their future.

When dawn broke, the train conductor lazily opened his eyes, holding the plump fish in his arms, peacefully looking out the window, he discovered that outside was again a snowstorm roaring, he frowned.

The snow stopped, the sky cracked a seam, sunlight accurately pierced through the clouds, spilling over the flat house in the snow.

The two large and one small snowman squatted happily in the yard, icicles on the eaves gleamed with golden light.

Yu Yue in his embrace let out a light moan, as if displeased by the sunlight disrupting her sleeping interests, she turned and felt around for Su Huan’s location, continuing her deep sleep.

Su Huan chuckled softly, gently rubbed the woman’s forehead with his chin.

He looked at the clothes and logbook on the table, with no intention of getting up.

But such beauty did not last long. On the third day, the young couple discovered they had a few more neighbors, doing nothing daily but coveting their happy life.

Later the neighbors became more and more numerous, but in consideration of the delicious food they brought, Su Huan endured.

Until one morning, awakened by a rough loud voice, Su Huan pushed open the window, a forehead full of black lines as he looked at the open space not far outside the house.

He Jie stood there, waving his hands backward, shouting loudly, "Fall! Fall! Fall!"

In the sky, the huge figure of the Armed Train hovered in mid-air, moving slowly.

Before the gangway was lowered, soldiers dressed in Power Armor were already landing, while on the other side, various structures sprang up on the empty ground, emitting clanking noises.

"It’s so noisy..."

Lin Jin and Little Box poked their heads out from the house next door.

"Not even letting people sleep properly."

On the other side, He Zhenzhen’s complaining voice appeared.

Su Huan’s head was lined with more black lines, these "neighbors" had all shown up suddenly overnight, including their houses.

"Conductor, good morning."

Professor Ma, dressed in a cotton coat, cheerfully passed by Su Huan’s window, holding something that looked like a small sled, and greeted with a smile.

Su Huan helplessly said, "Professor Ma, are you here to join the fun too?"

Professor Ma waved the sled in his hand, laughed, "I came especially for a visit. Old Xu invited me to play sledding, so I won’t disturb you two lovebirds."
