Chapter 826: Liu Che’s New Skill (II)

"Big brother, don’t be hasty. You need to do one thing at a time; you cannot rush such things." Bai Meiyue also knew that her brother was worried about the damage that they had received today, but this was not something that could be dealt with in just one night. She sighed and said to her brother, "We first need to do some planning, and only then can we come up with another plan to deal with these damages."

"Of course, I know but..." Bai Zhai sighed and explained, "But who can guarantee that everything will be fine in the next few days? What if we get another attack? What will we do then? The damage is too severe, and the walls have been weakened quite a lot. Even if everything is fine, what if we get attacked again? I am afraid that this time around even a crowd of normal zombies can break the walls of our safe base."

Bai Meiyue was also worried about this. She pursed her lips and thought about it a little before adding in a low voice, "I know, big brother. But we cannot decide in a hurry. Till then, just try to make do with the resources that are available. Anyway, there are not many labourers at the safe base whom you can use." This was a problem, and unfortunately, after the stunt that Yang Wei pulled, there was nothing they could do about it.

"Then how about you let me try?"

A voice called from behind, and Bai Meiyue turned to look at the man who was walking toward her.

"Liu Che? You are back from the mission?"

Liu Che walked over with a smile on his face and nodded. "That’s right. I just returned from the mission. My sister went to report the findings of our mission to Brother Guofu, and I came to look for you."

"How can you help?" Bai Zhan asked from the side when he heard Liu Che say that he wanted to help them strengthen the security around the safe base. As far as they knew, this man’s skill was poison, and even if he had some attacking skills, he could not provide any protective skills unless he was talking about eroding a person to death. In fact, even that could not be counted as a protective skill.

"Big brother, let’s listen to what he has to say first." Bai Meiyue knew that Liu Che would never come looking for them. Anyway, there was no need to look down on poison users; there were countless skills that could be used as they slowly upgraded. So, there was no need to look down on poison users.

She then turned to look at the man and questioned, "Just what do you have in mind?"

Liu Che smiled and then took out the mutated bugs that were securely placed in a tightly secured jar. Inside the jar was a pillar of red poisonous gas, and around it were a bunch of mutated bugs that refused to step inside or close to the pillar.

"Where did you get these bugs from?" Bai Meiyue was stunned when she saw the mutated bugs in the hands of Liu Che.

"Have you forgotten? You asked a few of the ability users to collect mutated bugs because you wanted to study them with the researchers, and that was how many of the ability users actually caught these bugs. Some of them even kept them secretly because they wanted to cause trouble. After the clean up, we found these mutated bugs in the houses of those who had left the safe base."

Only then did Bai Meiyue realise that she had indeed ordered the collection of mutated bugs because she wanted to study the doomsday virus that was circulating at the moment. Because of this very reason, she actually collected a few mutated bugs in hopes that they would be able to come up with an immunity shot. Who would have thought that Bai Meiyue would forget about this matter after the mutated bugs were delivered to the researchers, which allowed the ability users to raise these bugs and cause trouble for them?

If there had been no clean-up, then Bai Meiyue was worried that there would have been a lot of trouble.

She turned apologetic upon hearing Liu Che’s remark and stated, "I am really sorry about that. I was unaware of the good things those people did behind my back." They actually hid mutated bugs in their homes; if these mutated bugs had broken free, then there would have been chaos in the safe base. There were so many elderly and young ones; they would have lost their lives at the hands of these people, and given how ruthless and shameless these people were, Bai Meiyue knew that they would have never regretted it.

"It is not your fault. You were only trying to help the people. Who would have thought that they would actually take advantage of your kindness and even cause trouble for you?" Liu Che shrugged. "You were just trying to help them and nothing else."

However, Bai Meiyue still felt a little guilty. It was a close save. If she were not lucky, who knows what might have happened? It was a good thing that these things grew slowly under the lack of food, or else who knows what might have happened?

"Anyway, it is a good thing that they left it behind. Because of these mutated bugs, I was able to develop a new skill without doing much harm." As he spoke, he raised the jar in the air, allowing Bai Meiyue and Bai Zhan to look inside the jar clearly. It was only when the jar was at eye level with them that they were able to see the corpses of mutated bugs that tried to cross the pillar of red poisonous air.

"What is going on?" Bai Zhan asked as he looked at the jar of mutated bugs. He was feeling even more confused than before because he could not understand what Liu Che was trying to do.
