Apocalypse Supermarket: My Four Overpowered Husbands Wontstop Hoarding

Chapter 7 First business transaction.

Chapter 7: Chapter 7 First business transaction.

The name Luna Hart came almost like a decree, causing the man to pause and look at her properly.

"What made you put so much money on this land? Is it really worth it?" he asked.

Luna turned to look at him while reviewing the documents that had just been handed over to her.

"Are you trying to tell me something? That it isn’t worth it or what?"

The man immediately paused as though he had realized he had stepped on dangerous ground.

"That’s not what I meant. Please enjoy your purchase."

He moved to wave her goodbye, but Luna paid little attention to him. Once the final signature was placed in the appropriate spaces, the ownership officially transferred.

The land was now hers.

Walking out of the premises, Luna noticed a group of women gathered nearby. They watched her closely as she passed, whispering among themselves and occasionally snickering.

She didn’t bother greeting them.

In the next month they would understand exactly why she had bought that property.

Actually, they wouldn’t even need a month.

Tomorrow alone would be enough.

Getting into her car, Luna began driving back home. Along the way she finalized arrangements to sell the remaining properties under her name. As if fate itself was helping her, the interested buyer arrived almost immediately for inspection.

The man came with two people—a guard and a maid.

Together they walked through the mansion, examining every corner while Luna followed calmly behind them. She had no objections. They could inspect all they wanted.

Everything was already in perfect condition.

The mansion.

The furniture.

The luxury vehicles.

Everything.

Luna had already realized that once the apocalypse arrived, there would be no need for numerous properties, expensive cars, or luxurious estates.

One secure location was enough.

In fact, keeping too many assets would only become a burden.

The first days after the apocalypse would be absolute chaos. Survivors would run around desperately searching for food, shelter, and any structure still standing.

If her base was discovered too early, it would become a magnet for desperate people.

Even if she reinforced it heavily, how long could she truly keep them out?

Starving people could become more terrifying than monsters.

That was why she had already settled on a better option.

A hidden location.

A place nobody knew.

Somewhere isolated.

An island surrounded by mountains and natural barriers.

A location where supplies could be transported through ships and where outsiders would have difficulty finding her.

That was a far safer investment than any mansion in the city.

The buyer himself was a politician.

A very wealthy one.

His large frame and puffy belly practically screamed luxury and privilege.

More importantly, he possessed exactly what Luna wanted.

Money.

A lot of money.

When searching for buyers, Luna had specifically targeted individuals wealthy enough not to hesitate at the asking price.

People who could casually throw around billions without losing sleep.

This politician fit the requirements perfectly.

The moment he learned Martha’s properties were available, he had practically rushed over.

After all, Martha had been an influential figure while she was alive.

Many people had envied her lands and assets.

Naturally, the opportunity attracted greedy sharks.

"So you’re selling all of this?" the politician asked again.

He still seemed unable to believe what he was seeing.

Everything around him was valuable.

Far too valuable.

Properties like these weren’t usually placed on the market so casually.

Luna was beginning to lose her patience.

She didn’t have all day.

This old man kept asking the same questions over and over.

"If you’re not interested, I’ll simply find someone else. As I said earlier, I need buyers quickly because I’m moving away."

The politician immediately understood.

She wasn’t bluffing.

This was serious.

"I’m Mr. Thomson."

He offered his hand.

Luna nearly rolled her eyes.

Wasn’t she in a hurry?

Did she ever ask for his life story?

"Ah, forgive me, Miss Hart. I didn’t mean to offend you. Let’s prepare the documents. I’ve seen enough."

Finally.

Those were the words she had been waiting to hear.

Without wasting another second, Luna handed over the prepared documents.

Mr. Thomson accepted them, but instead of signing immediately, he carefully began reviewing every page.

Every single page.

Luna raised an eyebrow.

"You don’t trust me, man?"

Mr. Thomson didn’t answer immediately.

The look he gave her was answer enough.

He was still struggling to understand why someone would sell billions worth of properties so suddenly.

To him, none of this made sense.

Of course it didn’t.

How exactly was Luna supposed to explain that civilization would collapse within weeks?

That zombies would roam the streets?

That mutated beasts would hunt humans?

That governments would crumble?

Nobody would believe her.

If she told them the truth, they would probably call security and drag her straight to a psychiatric hospital.

She wasn’t interested in dealing with that nonsense.

"It’s simply standard business procedure," Mr. Thomson finally replied.

Luna wasn’t stupid.

She knew wealthy people often double-checked everything.

Still, she couldn’t help feeling irritated as the inspection dragged on.

Minute after minute.

Page after page.

Eventually the process ended.

The final signatures were placed.

The transfer was completed.

Then came the part Luna truly cared about.

The money.

A notification appeared on her phone.

Then another.

And another.

The numbers inside her account continued climbing higher and higher.

Billions.

Her eyes sparkled.

Now this was beautiful.

"Nice doing business with you, man."

She shook his hand.

Mr. Thomson smiled politely before leaving alongside his maid and guard.

As he reached the entrance, he stopped.

"When will you be leaving?"

Luna straightened slightly.

Her red dress shimmered under the afternoon sunlight while her handbag rested comfortably against her side.

"Immediately. You can move in as soon as you’re ready."

Mr. Thomson seemed pleased by that answer.

Of course, he wasn’t planning to move in right away.

A man of his status would require preparations first.

Once they were gone, silence settled over the mansion.

Luna stood alone.

For a long moment she simply stared at the building.

Then she slowly walked outside toward the front yard.

The wind brushed against her hair.

Her eyes moved across the gardens.

The pathways.

The walls.

The windows.

Countless memories existed here.

But unlike everyone else, Luna knew something they didn’t.

This mansion wouldn’t exist next month.

Natural disasters would tear through cities.

Earthquakes.

Storms.

Floods.

Then the zombies would come.

After them would come the mutated beasts.

Everything humanity built would be reduced to rubble.

Meanwhile Mr. Thomson was probably celebrating what he believed was the greatest purchase of his life.

Poor man.

He had no idea he had just purchased a luxury meal for the apocalypse.

Luna couldn’t even bring herself to feel guilty.

This world had never shown her mercy.

Why should she show mercy now?

Her gaze softened slightly.

This house held memories.

Painful ones.

Happy ones.

The place where her grandmother protected her.

The place where she suffered betrayal.

The place where Simon stole what rightfully belonged to her.

The place where her parents and sister smiled to her face while stabbing her in the back.

Those memories still burned.

But this time things would be different.

This time she knew what was coming.

This time she would survive.

And those who betrayed her?

They would not be nearly as fortunate.

With one final glance, Luna turned away.

There was still one last thing to handle before the day ended.

Driving her remaining vehicle, she headed toward the property she had acquired during the auction.

The moment she arrived, she immediately understood why those women had been laughing.

The building was terrible.

Absolutely terrible.

The structure looked ready to collapse.

The walls were cracked.

The roof looked ancient.

The entire place appeared abandoned by both humans and common sense.

Luna stared at it.

Then stared some more.

"Okay... that’s bad."

Even she had to admit it.

As for the land itself?

She honestly didn’t know what to think.

Still, she wasn’t buying it for appearances.

She was buying it for what would come afterward.

If not for the future rewards, who in their right mind would purchase something that looked like this?

Fortunately, tomorrow the government would begin compensation procedures.

That was the important part.

For now she had done enough.

Her body was exhausted.

Her brain was exhausted.

She deserved a break.

A good meal.

A comfortable bed.

And some time to organize her plans.

Basic calculations and preparation would be enough for tonight.

Everything needed to proceed smoothly before the countdown advanced any further.

Leaving the property behind, Luna drove toward a local hotel.

Despite the billions now sitting inside her account, she deliberately avoided luxurious establishments.

Every coin mattered.

Every resource mattered.

The apocalypse wasn’t something she could defeat by throwing money around carelessly.

The more she saved now, the more supplies she could stockpile later.

Maybe after everything was over she could enjoy luxury again.

If she survived.

Parking outside the hotel, Luna stepped out and headed toward the entrance.

What she didn’t know was that she wasn’t alone.

A short distance behind her, another vehicle came to a stop.

Inside sat Chris and Bonnie.

For reasons Luna couldn’t understand, they had been following her.

Bonnie watched Luna disappear through the hotel entrance.

Her expression was full of concern.

Chris looked even worse.

He seemed completely frustrated.

"I’m going to talk to Luna and find out what’s going on because this is madness."

He rubbed his forehead.

"I still can’t believe she bought that useless property for such a ridiculous amount. Does she even realize how much money she’s throwing away?"

Bonnie sighed and nodded.

She had already tried speaking to Luna.

Again and again.

Nothing worked.

Every conversation ended the same way.

It was like talking to a brick wall.

That was why Chris had gotten involved.

Maybe Luna would listen to him.

Maybe he could make her see reason.

Unfortunately for them both, they had no idea what they were up against.

The Luna they knew had already witnessed the end of the world once.

No amount of persuasion was going to change her mind.

Trying to convince her otherwise would be like trying to stop a river with bare hands.

Completely impossible.
