Apocalypse Supermarket: My Four Overpowered Husbands Wontstop Hoarding

Chapter 6 The auction.

Chapter 6: Chapter 6 The auction.

Luna was completely unaware of the call being placed. Her attention was fixed on the screen of her cellphone as she scrolled through information regarding an upcoming auction.

A particular property had caught her attention.

If she managed to get her hands on that place, she would practically be winning the lottery.

Back in her previous life, she remembered the incident clearly. The owner who had purchased the land had been mocked by everyone. People laughed at her for wasting money on such a useless property, completely unaware that her life was about to change overnight.

The very next day, government officials had arrived with documents in hand. They wanted the land.

No.

They desperately needed the land.

The woman eventually sold it and earned an outrageous amount of money from the transaction. What she had bought for almost nothing turned into a fortune worth hundreds of millions.

Thinking about it now, Luna’s eyes narrowed.

She desperately needed money.

The stockpiling she intended to do would cost an absurd amount, and while she already possessed considerable savings, it still wasn’t enough for everything she planned.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if she managed to obtain that land?

Wonderful or not, she was getting it.

Nobody could stop her.

Stopping a taxi by the roadside, Luna entered without hesitation.

She intended to return home first and prepare herself before heading to the auction. It would begin in four hours.

Today she would start preparing for the future.

Because this wasn’t a disaster that lasted a few weeks or even a year.

It was the end of the world.

The first phase would begin with natural disasters.

Floods.

Massive floods that swallowed entire towns and cities.

Rivers would burst beyond their banks while oceans surged inland, devouring everything in their paths.

But that wasn’t even the frightening part.

The truly terrifying moment came when the Arctic regions began melting at an alarming rate.

The waters rose.

And with them came predators.

Sharks.

Monstrous killers that found their way into flooded regions, turning submerged neighborhoods into hunting grounds.

Just when humanity thought things couldn’t get worse, the waters eventually receded.

People celebrated.

People rejoiced.

People believed they had survived.

Then came the earthquakes.

Entire cities split apart.

Buildings collapsed.

Roads shattered.

And before humanity could recover, devastating tsunamis followed, forcing survivors from one shelter to another.

Months passed in endless suffering.

Then the second phase arrived.

Mutated beasts.

Those creatures were the embodiment of nightmares.

Vicious.

Bloodthirsty.

Intelligent.

What made them terrifying wasn’t merely their strength but the fact that they possessed intelligence frighteningly close to that of humans.

They hunted strategically.

They attacked shelters.

They destroyed safe zones.

They sought fresh blood with horrifying patience.

Countless survivors died beneath their claws.

And then came the final disaster.

The one that truly ended everything.

The rise of the dead.

Zombies.

Endless hordes of them.

They spread across the world like a plague, consuming cities and destroying the final remnants of civilization.

By then humanity was already broken.

The zombies merely delivered the finishing blow.

Almost nobody survived.

Luna certainly hadn’t.

She had died miserable and betrayed.

Meanwhile her dear sister—

That bitch.

She had somehow become one of the fortunate survivors.

Thinking about it now only strengthened Luna’s determination.

Why waste time discussing meaningless things when every second mattered?

She had no intention of repeating her mistakes.

Fortunately, she possessed one advantage.

Her supermarket space.

It was enormous.

Far larger than any ordinary storage facility.

She could store supplies for years without worrying about running out of room.

Even better, she had the system.

With enough coins, many supplies could be purchased directly without wasting valuable time searching for them herself.

As for the remaining necessities, she would simply buy them outside and move them into her space.

Everything was already falling into place.

Meanwhile, Bonnie had finally caught up to where Luna had been standing.

Only to discover the taxi disappearing into the distance.

Luna hadn’t waited.

She hadn’t even looked back.

Bonnie slowly stopped running.

A frown appeared on her face.

"Something is wrong with Luna," she muttered quietly.

Her eyes narrowed.

"And I’m going to find out what it is. Chris will help me."

With that decision made, she turned and headed toward the place where she and Chris had agreed to meet.

Elsewhere, James Hart and Madison Hart had finally returned home with Ava.

The moment they entered, Ava resumed her endless complaints.

"I don’t understand why nobody is doing anything!" she shouted. "I want her gone! She can’t take this house from us! Never!"

Frustration was written all over her face.

At college she was known as the queen bee.

Returning as a poor girl would destroy her reputation.

And that was something she simply couldn’t accept.

James rubbed his forehead painfully.

A headache was beginning to form.

"I’m powerless here," he admitted bitterly. "I never expected her to change like this. I thought if I asked properly she would hand everything over."

Madison sighed.

"We all thought the same."

Her expression darkened.

"But she shocked every one of us."

At that moment Nicholas spoke up.

"Don’t you think Luna is completely different now?"

Everyone turned toward him.

"The Luna we met that night and the Luna we’re seeing now aren’t the same person. Trust me."

Silence followed.

Nobody could explain it.

Nobody understood what had happened.

All they knew was that they were dangerously close to losing everything.

Suddenly Ava’s phone rang.

The caller ID displayed Simon’s name.

She quickly answered.

"Hello, darling—"

But Simon immediately interrupted her.

"Something is wrong with your sister."

Ava froze.

"She practically dumped me."

His voice carried obvious frustration.

"What did you tell her? Luna used to love me to death, but now she won’t even listen to me."

Ava blinked.

So it wasn’t only her family noticing the changes.

Even Simon had realized it.

"Are you saying you couldn’t convince her to transfer the properties?"

On the other end Simon cursed.

"Luna wasn’t interested in hearing a single word I said. It was like I didn’t matter anymore."

He paused.

Then he added something Ava never expected.

"We’re over."

Ava’s eyes widened.

"What?"

"I want Luna back."

For several seconds she couldn’t process his words.

"Didn’t you tell me you were tired of my sister?" she demanded angrily. "Now that she doesn’t want you anymore, suddenly you want her back? Simon, this was supposed to be our moment—"

The call ended.

Ava stared at the screen in disbelief.

Everything was slipping away.

The house.

The money.

Simon.

All because of Luna.

A dangerous look entered her eyes.

"No."

Her voice trembled.

"No!"

Her scream echoed through the estate.

"Over my dead body will I let you take everything from me!"

At that exact moment a slow clap echoed from above.

Everyone looked up.

Standing on the upper floor near the railings was Luna.

A smirk rested on her lips.

She had heard enough.

Without saying a word, she casually nudged several packed bags over the railing.

The luggage crashed onto the floor below.

James gasped.

"What is the meaning of this?" he shouted furiously. "How dare you treat us like servants!"

Luna shrugged.

In her eyes there was little difference between servants and the people standing below her.

"This house is closed to people like you."

Her voice was calm.

Cold.

"Leave before security throws you into a dumpster."

Unfortunately, they refused.

Ava glared at her.

Nicholas stepped forward as if preparing to attack.

The next second security grabbed him.

He was dragged away like a wild animal.

The others suffered the same treatment.

Within minutes their belongings had been tossed outside the estate gates.

The sight was deeply satisfying.

Luna’s smile widened.

"Good luck surviving the end of the world."

The gates slammed shut.

And just like that, the Hart family found themselves homeless.

Meanwhile Luna entered her car.

Dressed in a sleek red gown with a matching handbag and elegant heels, she looked every bit the wealthy heiress she was.

The auction awaited her.

And so did her future fortune.

An hour later she arrived.

The bidding was already underway.

Numbers continued rising.

One thousand dollars.

Five thousand.

Ten thousand.

The crowd eagerly competed against one another.

Then a calm female voice shattered the atmosphere.

"I’m bidding five hundred thousand dollars."

Silence.

Absolute silence.

Every head turned toward the source.

There sat a stunning young woman.

Elegant.

Confident.

Unbothered.

Whispers immediately spread throughout the room.

"Has she gone crazy?"

"That property is useless."

"She’s wasting her money."

Luna ignored them.

She remembered hearing those exact same words in her previous life.

The fools who mocked the buyer eventually regretted it when the government’s offer became public.

Unfortunately for them, history was about to repeat itself.

The auctioneer recovered from his shock and cleared his throat.

"Five hundred thousand dollars going once."

No response.

"Going twice."

Still nothing.

"Sold!"

The gavel slammed down.

The property was hers.

A man in a tailored suit approached her moments later.

A professional smile appeared on his face.

"Congratulations, Miss."

He extended a hand.

"If you don’t mind me asking, what is your name?"

Luna accepted the documents before answering.

"Luna Hart."
