Apocalypse Supermarket: My Four Overpowered Husbands Wontstop Hoarding
Chapter 116 Emergency call
Chapter 116: Chapter 116 Emergency call
Going through the door was like entering another world entirely. The space on the other side looked almost like a warehouse, except it was far larger than anything Luna had expected. Goods were packed into almost every corner, while each shelf seemed dedicated to a particular type of provision and its different counterparts. There were rows of food everywhere—boxes stacked on top of one another, crates filling the lower sections, while shelves stretched high above Luna’s head. Some areas were organized so neatly that Luna couldn’t help wondering how long it had taken them to arrange everything.
She didn’t understand why they had decided to split their supplies into different locations. From what she had already seen while walking through the corridor, there were cupboards and cubicles packed with goods. Then there was the enormous bunker she had entered with Malcolm, which itself contained a supermarket almost half the size of the supermarket inside her own space. And now this—another entire warehouse filled with provisions. Why didn’t they just put everything in one place?
Then again, Luna wasn’t complaining. She didn’t care how they had organized it. She was taking everything. Nothing was staying behind.
Her eyes immediately landed on several crates of eggs. The moment she looked at them—they vanished. The entire crate disappeared into her space. Luna’s lips curled upward. Then she looked at a row of fresh vegetables. Gone. Another shelf. Gone. Boxes of pasta. Gone. Meat. Gone. Canned goods. Gone. Frozen provisions. Gone.
It reached a point where Luna became so used to seeing entire sections disappear that she barely needed to think about it anymore. She simply looked, and the system did the rest. One shelf after another disappeared. Then an entire row. Then another.
Luna walked deeper into the warehouse, her eyes scanning everything around her. The amount of supplies was ridiculous. There were things she hadn’t even seen before, things that could be useful during the later stages of the apocalypse, and enough food to make even her hoarding instincts feel satisfied.
Almost. Because Luna was Luna. If there was still something left, she was taking it.
Soon, the warehouse began looking strangely empty. The shelves that had once been overflowing were now bare. Boxes vanished. Crates vanished. Pallets vanished. Even the larger containers disappeared without causing her system any trouble. There were no limitations—large, medium, small—everything went straight into her space.
Luna finally stopped and looked around. The enormous warehouse that had once been packed with supplies was now almost completely empty. She smiled triumphantly, then turned around and walked back toward the doorway.
Behind her, Fake Malcolm could only stare. His mouth hung open. He looked as though he had just witnessed something impossible. He couldn’t understand what he had seen. Magic? Witchcraft? Some kind of supernatural ability? Whatever it was, he couldn’t explain it.
"You’re..."
Luna didn’t even look at him. She continued walking. The moment she stepped outside the warehouse, her gaze moved toward another shelf. Gone. Another box. Gone. She kept collecting things as she walked.
Meanwhile, her apocalypse coins were rising rapidly. The numbers were increasing at a ridiculous speed. They flew upward so quickly that Luna almost couldn’t keep track of them. She glanced at the system notification. Her lips twitched.
This is insane.
The amount of coins she was gaining wasn’t even humanly reasonable. But she wasn’t going to complain. The apocalypse had given her a system. She was going to use every advantage it offered.
Fake Malcolm finally couldn’t take it anymore. "We’re going to lose everything!"
Luna’s head snapped toward him. "I said don’t you dare say anything." Her voice thundered through the corridor. The man flinched so hard his entire body jerked. "Remember, I saved your life." Luna raised the dagger slightly. "Don’t make me slice your tongue off."
Fake Malcolm immediately shut his mouth. Luna turned away from him and continued her raid. She didn’t care about his complaints. She didn’t care about the inhabitants. She didn’t care about what they would do after she left. She had come here for supplies. And she was leaving with supplies. Everything.
Fake Malcolm could only watch helplessly as the storage areas around them became emptier by the second. His face slowly lost all color. He watched an entire shelf disappear. Then another. Then a huge collection of boxes. Finally, nothing remained. The enormous warehouse that had once been filled with enough supplies to keep the entire bunker alive was now nothing but an empty space.
Fake Malcolm’s jaw dropped. It was gone. Everything. All the food. All the provisions. Everything they had depended on for survival—vanished.
Luna looked around at the empty room. "Now that’s good." She smiled. "I guess you have helped so much that maybe you can really survive at the end."
Fake Malcolm looked like he was about to cry. "You took everything."
"Correct."
"How are we supposed to survive?"
Luna shrugged. "That’s your problem."
She turned away, then reached for her clothes. The casual disguise she had been wearing began changing. The material shifted over her body, transforming into the black, sleek overall she preferred for combat. The fabric covered her entire body, fitting perfectly against her figure. Her sleek boots appeared next. The moment they touched the floor, they produced a sharp sound. Click.
Luna looked ready for war.
Fake Malcolm stared at her. "Let me go with you." Luna glanced back. "At least don’t leave me here." His voice shook. "I’m going to die."
Luna didn’t answer. She was already approaching the door. She placed her hand on the knob, then opened it. The guards waiting outside immediately looked toward the entrance. They had been expecting Malcolm and Luna to come out together. Instead—only Luna appeared. The guards exchanged confused looks. One of them raised a brow.
Luna didn’t give them time to react. A system panel appeared before her eyes.
[Arrows activated.]
The mechanism responded instantly. Several pairs of arrows shot through the corridor. They moved so quickly that the guards barely had time to react. Whoosh! The arrows struck them directly in the forehead. One after another, they dropped. There were no prolonged screams. No dramatic final words. They simply collapsed onto the floor.
Luna stepped over them. "Now that’s more like it." She smiled. "Good job, system. I think I’m liking you more and more."
But the moment she finished speaking, more guards rushed toward her. They had seen their comrades lying dead on the floor. An alarm immediately began blaring.
[WARNING! WARNING!]
[Traitor detected!]
The announcement echoed through the corridor. Luna rolled her eyes. "Traitor?" She looked at the bodies around her. "I wasn’t even one of you."
More weapons were raised. Guns. Rifles. Other weapons Luna didn’t bother identifying. The guards fired. A storm of bullets rushed toward her. Luna didn’t move. Her system immediately scanned the incoming weapons. The bullets were suddenly slowed. Then stopped. They hung in the air.
Luna looked at them. "Seriously?" She waved a hand. The system released its control. The bullets dropped in power as they reached her. Instead of causing fatal damage, they struck her body with barely enough force to hurt. It was like being hit by marbles. Luna simply shrugged. "When you’re done, stop wasting bullets." She looked at the guards. "That’s not going to stop me."
One glance. That was all it took. Every weapon in the guards’ hands disappeared. Rifles. Pistols. Blades. Everything vanished into her space. The guards stared at their empty hands. "What the fuck?" One of them looked around in horror. "How?!" Another guard backed away. "I think she’s a witch!" "This isn’t ordinary!"
Luna didn’t bother correcting them. If they wanted to believe she was a witch, that was their business. She had more important things to do. Her eyes moved over the guards again. Their clothes disappeared. One after another, the uniforms vanished. Even their remaining weapons and equipment were sucked into her space.
The guards suddenly realized what had happened. They screamed and scrambled backward. Luna let out a cruel smile. "Run."
They didn’t need to be told twice. They rushed toward the hall in complete panic. But before they could get far—Whoosh! Short arrows flew through the corridor. Each one struck a guard in the forehead. This time, they weren’t designed to kill. The tranquilizers inside the arrows immediately took effect. One guard collapsed. Then another. Then another. Soon, the corridor was filled with unconscious bodies.
Luna stepped over them. "Much better."
She turned her attention back to the corridor. There were still supplies. The cubicles she had noticed earlier were lined along both sides of the walls. She didn’t bother opening them this time. She didn’t need to. Anything that looked useful went straight into her space. One glance. Gone. Another. Gone.
Soon, the cubicles themselves began disappearing. The metal structures vanished into her space as though they had never existed. Luna didn’t care what was inside. If it looked useful enough to contain supplies, she was taking it. One after another, they disappeared. Until finally—nothing remained.
The entire corridor had been cleared. Luna stood in the middle of the empty passage. She looked around. A satisfied smile appeared on her face. "This..." She placed a hand on her hip. "...is what you call a successful raid."
Then she tapped something on her system. A sudden burst of light exploded through the corridor. It looked almost like fireworks. The sound echoed throughout the upper levels of the bunker. Boom! Boom! Boom!
Luna smiled. That was her signal. Her men would know. It was time to fucking leave.
She turned toward the direction they had come from and waited for the response. She expected an attack. Perhaps another group of guards. Maybe a powerful awakened. Anything. Instead, a notification suddenly appeared before her eyes.
[Warning.]
[Warning.]
[Incoming communication from Miles — House Caretaker.]
Luna froze. Her smile disappeared. Miles? Why was he contacting her?
She immediately opened the communication. Static filled her ears. Then she heard a voice. Not Miles. Astrid. And his voice was broken. "Luna..."
Her heart suddenly dropped. "They’re here."
Luna’s entire body stiffened. Astrid struggled to speak. "We aren’t going to make it..."
The sound of destruction could be heard in the background. Then he said the words that made Luna’s blood run cold. "And the same goes for your house."
The communication cut completely.
