April turned back toward Nat, her eyes softening just a fraction.

"Nat, it’s late," she said gently, her voice clear in the quiet garage. "Maybe another time."

The rejection, soft as it was, certainly struck a sharp blow to his ego—especially right in front of Xavier. But Nat didn’t let the crack show. Instead, a slow smirk spread across his face, a sharp, crooked smile that was far from friendly, his eyes glinting with a dangerous, quiet heat.

"If that’s what you want... sure," Nat drawled. He tucked his hands deep into his coat pockets and squared his shoulders, stepping past her. "I’ll be on my way then."

Both April and Xavier watched in silence as Nat strode away into the shadows of the parking garage. There was something about those squared, tense shoulders that left a subtle, uneasy prickle of worry—and a strange flicker of guilt—settling deep in April’s chest.

"Come, let’s go," Xavier said softly, stepping closer and reaching his hand out to her.

April looked at his open palm for a second before finally taking it.

The drive back to the estate was wrapped in absolute silence. April kept her head rested against the seat, closing her eyes the entire way home, her mind spinning in a quiet, hazy exhaustion.

When they stepped into the grand foyer of the estate, Emily was already sitting on the sofa with Lily sleeping comfortably in her lap. Once again, the little kitten looked overfed and unable to stay awake.

Bright excitement radiated off Emily, her face lighting up the moment the front doors opened. She had been eagerly waiting to tell her sister every detail about her time with Philippe, but seeing April walk in all dressed up alongside Xavier, she naturally assumed they had just returned from a wonderful, romantic date of their own.

Emily giggled softly, waving a hand. "You must be exhausted, go get some rest. We can chat another time."

"Yeah..." April murmured.

She was exhausted—emotionally drained by the weight of a conflict she hadn’t anticipated. It was proving remarkably difficult to balance her burgeoning affection among the men in her life. She kept the feeling tucked away in silence, silently wishing things would simply work themselves out.

Retreating to her room, April went straight into the bathroom to take a long, hot shower.

As the steaming water washed over her skin, clearing away every last trace of blood until her body was entirely clean, she did something she had never done before. Her fingers reached down, lightly brushing against her sensitive clit as the hot water cascaded down her body.

A breathless gasp tore from her throat.

It was a completely new sensation—electric, intense, and dizzying. The area had been aching and throbbing all evening, especially after Nat’s erection had been pressing relentlessly against that exact spot through her clothes in the elevator. It felt incredible... but it wasn’t enough. It only made the deep, internal craving sharper.

Just as the sensation began to take over, April snapped back to her senses. She instantly pulled her hand away, slapping her second hand over her mouth to muffle another gasp.

"Seriously..." she whispered to herself, her heart hammering wildly against her ribs. "It’s so difficult."

Her period typically lasted three days, with only a few faint drops on the fourth morning before stopping entirely. She naturally gave it four days. By tomorrow evening, the bleeding would be completely over. And then... finally...

She shook her head vigorously, reaching out to turn off the shower valves. She couldn’t allow herself to dwell on these thoughts right now. Thinking like this would only make her desperate, building up an intense anticipation for sex that might lead to a heavy disappointment. Still, her blood was already humming for it, heat pulsing thick beneath her skin despite her practical mind’s best efforts.

Stepping out of the stall and wrapping a towel around herself, a sudden, heavy realization hit her like a cold shock.

She hadn’t decided which of them would officially take her virginity.

It’s a big deal, right? My virginity... And the Internet says it’ll hurt at first... Then who...?

She couldn’t help but recall the explicit details of the two men she had already seen. Xavier and Nat were both massive. There was no doubt about it—it was going to hurt. A lot.

And then there was Alexander, the one she hadn’t seen yet. His ED had been cured, but that didn’t give her any indication of his size compared to the other two.

April ran her fingers through her damp hair, letting out a frustrated exhale.

Do women usually fuss about things like this? she wondered, a slight, worried crease forming between her brows. She sighed softly, shaking her head as she picked up her hair dryer. Let’s just... see how it goes.

The next morning, April dressed neatly in a pair of brown corporate pants and a cream blouse, and headed downstairs.

The household was already stirring, preparing for another day at the grand culinary arena. Alexander—the now prodigal lover—had returned in full form, looking refreshed and eager as he immediately stepped up to gently take her hand, kissing her knuckles with a brilliant, handsome smile.

"Your knight is ready for duty," he boasted and her lashes fluttered.

Cute.

Xavier was down in the foyer as well, looking sharp in his tailored suit, his eyes warm as he greeted her.

Samuel stepped forward to greet her with his usual flawless composure, though he immediately bowed his head in apology. "Miss April, I must apologize for my sudden departure yesterday evening. An urgent matter regarding my late father’s side of the family required my immediate attention. I can provide a full report on the details later, should you wish."

"It’s fine, Samuel," April replied smoothly. "As long as there’s nothing you’re struggling with," he nodded.

Her eyes quietly scanned the dining hall. Nat was nowhere to be found. She pursed her lips slightly. It seemed he wouldn’t be attending the venue today either, sticking to his quiet distance while her period ran its course. And maybe for one more reason.

She couldn’t help but recall when he asked with an uncharacteristic calm in his tone, "Did I... come on too strong?" "Maybe... you don’t like me being aggressive,"

Before she could think on it further, Emily bounced over and grabbed April’s arm, her face glowing with unmistakable excitement.

"Come on, April! Let’s get going, we don’t want to be late!" Emily urged, pulling her toward the waiting vehicle.

April allowed herself to be dragged along, a faint, dry amusement touching her eyes. She knew her twin wasn’t worried about the schedule at all—she just wanted to hurry to the arena to see her little crush.
