Max slept for six hours, and his smartwatch woke him up through the alarm he had set.

Max had already set his smartwatch to always wake him up the moment six hours had passed since he had fallen asleep.

At this moment, he already felt vigorous, albeit his stomach grumbled from hunger.

Cassie’s voice echoed.

[Master, your aunt wants to remind you that you must take care of yourself.

You must not skip meals and must sleep properly.

She said so in an angry tone.]

Max smiled.

He stood up and walked straight to the dining room.

It turned out that it was already evening when Max woke up from his deep slumber—just in time for Auntie Sarah and Enzo to have dinner.

Almost immediately, Auntie Sarah scolded Max, and the latter bitterly smiled as he repeatedly assured her that he would not forget to take care of his health.

Max found it amusing that Auntie Sarah was lecturing him about taking care of his health when Max himself trained his physique to the point that he believed he was the healthiest human alive.

During dinner, Max mainly asked Enzo about their Guild’s current condition, and the latter explained the severity of the situation.

For the past seven nights, the intensity of the monster invasion had significantly increased.

In fact, monster tribes that came from the northwest had begun attacking the western frontier of the northern province.

Although the monsters from the northwest were not particularly powerful due to the environmental disadvantage, their adaptability was monstrous.

The Imperial Army and the Monster Hunters Guild struggled significantly, and Enzo even felt pessimistic about surviving throughout the duration of the first world event.

It left Max stunned.

In his past life, players and Guilds did not struggle at all.

Their Guilds became so domineering after the first world event that the Imperial Family rewarded those Guilds and their Guildmasters handsomely.

In other words, not only did the System grant those Guilds bountiful rewards, but the Imperial Family also helped them expand and solidify their Guilds’ positions for the years to come.

However, the first world event this time had attracted the attention of a Demon Lord of Wrath and his forces.

This caused the other monster tribes to relocate to other provinces, greatly affecting them as they became caught up in the great war against the Demon Lord of Wrath.

The three provinces that faced the wrath of the Demon Lord did not suffer alone; the whole Empire was greatly affected.

Even the eastern province faced different monster tribes that normally did not appear in that direction.

Max fell silent while staring at his depressed younger brother.

He silently sighed.

He wanted to smack his own face, but he could not do so.

Just as he had already reminded himself not to greatly affect the events in this timeline, he had messed up again.

It’s already inevitable, Max thought to himself. I have to kill Varkhaz in the end.

Max tried to recall from his past life whether an Archmage and a Blade Saint had died to Varkhaz and whether Varkhaz had died during the first world event, but no memories resurfaced.

It seemed he had truly started a new life.

Max glanced at his younger brother and said, "Don’t be so down. You can handle it. I don’t believe the Imperial Family will simply allow themselves to lose their provinces.

"Though, I wish you could handle the problems without relying too much on the Imperial Family."

Enzo nodded.

"Don’t worry, brother. We can still hold on.

"As long as the Mythical Ice Dragon remains passive and the Imperial Army can take care of it once it is about to make a move, we can still defend the northern province."

"That’s good to know."

"Why are you two not focusing on eating?

"Talking about the game again."

Auntie Sarah’s voice lightened the mood between Enzo and Max as they ate happily.

Auntie Sarah’s home-cooked food remained the best.

At the same time, the food reminded them of their mother, who used to cook for them.

When they were finished, Max offered some advice to Enzo before he returned to the game.

It was already evening when Max returned, just in time for the High General, his tactician, and Matilda to have already gathered in the small room.

Max asked, "What’s the situation?"

Matilda respectfully replied, "We are awaiting the arrival of the demons, Guildmaster."

Max nodded.

He kept his gaze fixed intently on the Demonic Activity Map.

An hour later, a dot finally appeared on the Demonic Activity Map.

One by one, more dots began appearing.

At the same time, in the Southern Frontier, the familiar sea of dots emerged once again.

When Max gazed at the dots in the Southern Frontier, he could not shake the lingering feeling that this time, things were not the same.

He frowned heavily. He could not shake the feeling no matter how much he tried.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, attracting the attention of the others, before exhaling.

He turned toward Matilda and said, "I will be going to the Southern Frontier."

Matilda was surprised.

"But Guildmaster, isn’t it too early?"

Max shook his head.

"Better than late."

He turned toward the High General and said, "I will be leaving command to you and Matilda."

The High General nodded and did not disobey Max’s words.

Max left the small room and met up with Lancelot, Seraphina, and the Holy Knight after ordering them through his communication device.

When Lancelot met Max, together with Seraphina and the Holy Knight, outside the Central Command Hall, he immediately asked, "What’s wrong, Max?"

Max shrugged.

"We’ll observe the Southern Frontier. We won’t get involved unless necessary."

Lancelot nodded.

Along the way, Max checked his status first.
