Apocalypse Online: Regression of SSS-Class Summoner
Chapter 213: Undetermined Outcome
While Kaelgor was completely distracted by Owen, Helena executed her skill again.
Radiant Breakthrough.
It was a skill she had learned not long after her master’s breakthrough.
In fact, every Radiant Knight immediately meditated within their master’s Conclave Network after he reached B-rank and eventually awakened their signature skills once they reached B-rank themselves.
Not only had their stats increased to B-rank and their equipment reached Epic rank, but their skills had also reached Expert proficiency. They had earned a signature skill as well.
Owen had also executed his signature skill—Radiant Deadeye.
It forced him to enter a heightened state of concentration.
His accuracy became extremely high.
Weak points became more clearly visible.
Projectile deviation was drastically reduced.
His effective range increased.
His attacks gained increased armor penetration.
Although the drawback was that Owen became less mobile while maintaining the state, he essentially became a long-range execution specialist.
At the same time, the other Ranger-class Radiant Knights stood beside him, ready to protect him.
Hence, Helena did not worry about his safety and executed Radiant Breakthrough.
Coupled with her high-speed charge, her fist brimmed with divine mana.
Kaelgor was able to react—only by sweeping his gaze toward Helena and seeing her charging at him with immense speed.
Kaelgor gritted his teeth and was about to move when his injured leg screamed in pain, causing him to freeze.
That momentary pause allowed Helena to successfully punch the hilt of her greatsword.
The greatsword pierced through the tough muscle of Kaelgor’s leg before flying forward toward another Greater Demon...
Belzura.
Belzura had an elegant but unsettling humanoid appearance.
Her skin was dark crimson, while her long black hair floated around her head as if underwater.
Her eyes were completely filled with golden flames.
Small embers constantly orbited her body.
Unlike most demons, she wore ornate black robes decorated with burning golden symbols.
A circular demonic sigil floated behind her head like a burning halo.
Her eyes, burning with golden flames, flared as they reflected the greatsword coming toward her.
Through her signature ability, Infernal Foresight, she completely identified the greatsword’s momentum, its weight, its sharpness, its weaknesses... everything.
She saw multiple possible outcomes from the greatsword—it could successfully pierce through her body, strike her chest if she tried to evade by crouching, or hit her shoulder if she dodged sideways...
She concluded that the greatsword was unavoidable.
She saw in her peripheral vision that Helena was smirking at her, seemingly already intending to attack her from the beginning.
Belzura only grinned in response.
As the greatsword came toward her—at exactly 0.1 seconds according to her calculations—she gracefully moved her body, synchronizing with the greatsword’s momentum.
The greatsword pierced her shoulder, but instead of screaming in pain, she quickly rotated her body.
With her back facing Helena, the latter was dumbstruck to see the greatsword piercing through Belzura’s body while actually heading in her direction.
Did she just help me return the greatsword?
Just as she thought so, the greatsword’s momentum shifted slightly.
As it flew toward them, Helena eventually realized that it was not heading exactly toward her, but toward the demon hunters focused on fighting the demons.
Not good!
As she was about to chase after her greatsword, what welcomed her was a gigantic siege hammer.
Helena crossed her arms in front of her and held her breath as she felt the force of the gigantic siege hammer smash into her.
She flew backward several yards before rolling across the ground, grinding her teeth.
Not from the pain, but from the frustration.
She suddenly felt a warm sensation from her injury and instantly knew that Amelia had healed her.
She tilted her head upward and glanced at her greatsword, which had landed on the ground.
A familiar floating barrier made of divine mana appeared above her before dissipating into nothingness.
Helena understood that Max had summoned Magnus as well.
Helena then focused her attention on Kaelgor and couldn’t help but chuckle when she saw him attempting to reattach his severed leg.
The wound couldn’t heal or reconnect with the severed limb because of the divine mana.
However, Kaelgor’s demonic mana would soon repel the divine mana, and it would only be a matter of time before he recovered from the grave injury.
Helena stood up and charged toward Kaelgor again at rapid speed.
One failure didn’t discourage her.
On the contrary, it only fueled her motivation to defeat Kaelgor.
Helena’s battle in the main battlefield began affecting the entirety of the battle.
Max started summoning his Radiant Knights, knowing he had to defend the demon hunters from becoming collateral damage in the battle between his Radiant Knights and Varkhaz’s captains.
Darius and Fiora were busy with their duels. Helena was becoming the nemesis of a powerful siege warfare demon, while Owen was focused on targeting Morzhul, who was targeting the corpses of the demon hunters. He extracted residual spiritual energy from them, converting it into temporary physical reinforcement and amplifying his signature abilities.
At the same time, Belzura was recovering from being wounded by Helena’s greatsword, but she would soon become the most dangerous demon once she joined the battle.
Max found it difficult to determine the outcome of his Radiant Knights’ battles.
One moment, Helena was at an advantage; in the next split-second, she was forced to roll backward while losing her greatsword.
He finally understood the importance of possessing knowledge and tactics in battle.
Though, I haven’t fully joined in yet.
Max had not utilized his skills as a summoner yet, as he was preserving his mana for the battle against Varkhaz.
Varkhaz was simply staring at him coldly from afar, seemingly waiting for a chance to strike.
It was obvious that he was patiently waiting—he was gripping his sword, and his stance seemed ready to sacrifice everything in an all-out strike if he was given the opportunity.
Max snorted and watched as a berserker Greater Demon was about to annihilate his demon hunters, compelling him to summon Solomon, who was his greatest anti-demon Radiant Knight...
