Enzo could not change his elder brother’s firm decision.

As much as he was struck with guilt, he could only swallow it while, at the same time, looking forward to the Eclipse Immersion Pod.

If the Eclipse Immersion Pod was truly as good as how his brother described it in the advertisement, then it indeed deserved the title of a futuristic gaming pod.

There would be no organization that could beat Aethernova once it was mass-produced.

He silently sighed helplessly and could only swear to repay the debt he owed his elder brother.

The two brothers chatted for a while until Enzo himself initiated a question to Auntie Sarah.

"Right, Auntie Sarah, when will you be playing the game?"

Auntie Sarah was taken aback. "Not you, too, Enzo."

Enzo chuckled. "You’ll be missing out on a lot, Auntie Sarah."

"Thank God, I will," said Auntie Sarah.

Max and Enzo laughed, with the former being elated from teasing Auntie Sarah.

They didn’t try to continue persuading her anymore as they soon returned to their rooms and exercised first to help digest what they had eaten before diving into the game.

When Max returned to his office, he glanced upward.

There were still three hours before the first world-event would commence.

However, an hour prior to its commencement, the game would finally announce the content of the first world-event.

Max grabbed the communication device in front of him and called Danny, Seraphina, and Matilda to his office.

Only these three significant officers were left in the headquarters.

After ten minutes, every single one of them arrived in front of him.

Except for Matilda, they were equipped with Demon Hunter kits, knowing they would be stationed on the frontline to fight against demons.

Max glanced at Danny and asked, "How are the others doing?"

Danny bowed deeply and replied, "Only Lancelot has messaged us through the communication device provided by the settlement.

As for the others, they updated us through aerial messengers. Judging from their messages and distance, it might take days for them to fully arrive."

Max nodded. "We should get going as well.

Matilda will remain in the headquarters.

The rest will follow me. Bring the remaining Demon Hunters we have.

We will be going to Mirefall Province."

Matilda bowed slightly, surprising Max.

Without saying a word, she left with a heavy expression, knowing that the Empire would be in danger and she could not treat the upcoming disaster lightly.

Danny bowed deeply and proceeded to gather the Demon Hunters as well, leaving Max and Seraphina.

Max glanced at Seraphina and ruminated for a while.

He asked, "Do you have a personal horse?"

Seraphina replied, "Yes. It’s as fast as your horse."

"Alright."

Max decided to have Joel ride the female horse.

Max left his office and proceeded to the border of the Central Administrative District with Seraphina on foot.

Joel was already waiting outside the Central Administrative District.

At the same time, a Blade Saint, who exuded an aura similar to Seraphina’s, waited outside with an empty horse.

When Max glanced at him, he asked Seraphina, "Who is he?"

Seraphina replied politely, "A Holy Knight. The High Pontiff assigned him to protect me."

"A Holy Knight? Is that a specialized profession?"

It was actually the first time Max had heard of them. He couldn’t remember hearing about a Holy Knight in his past life, much less encountering one.

"Yes. There are only ten of them, with their leader, who reached A-rank, being a Holy Paladin.

Similar to the Imperial Demon Vanguard, they rarely appear and often conceal themselves to complete high-rank missions from the Church.

In fact, they also slew a lot of Dark Mages that the Empire took credit for."

She scoffed at the mention of the last part of her words.

Max smiled. He was not surprised.

Furthermore, since the Church deliberately concealed the presence of the Holy Knights and Holy Paladin, it was natural that the Empire would help them by taking credit for their actions.

The Church had already gained the heavy impression of being a religious organization that helped those in need, and the Holy Knights and Holy Paladins would definitely overshadow the accomplishments of the Imperial Army.

As Max walked closer to Joel and the Holy Knight, the latter jumped from the horseback and greeted Seraphina first before saluting Max.

Max was a bit surprised.

As though perceiving Max’s reaction, the Holy Knight explained.

"Bearer of the Authority of Radiant Contract, it is an honor to meet you."

Max smiled. "I’m looking forward to working with you."

"It’s a pleasure," said the Holy Knight with extreme reverence in his tone.

Max nodded towards him and proceeded to his horse.

With the Holy Knight and Seraphina behind them, Max led them to the gate of the Demon Hunters Guild’s headquarters.

Along the way, Danny caught up with Max on his personal horse.

One after another, Demon Hunters followed behind them.

Their horses were not any slower than Max’s horse, surprising him.

Only then did he finally have the time to perceive his horse’s current emotional state.

He was amused that his horse seemed to have been humbled—its arrogance and pride had long dissipated, replaced by a solemn and mature attitude.

Max shook his head.

Once a genius met other geniuses, he would be humbled after being treated as average.

The Demon Hunters’ horses had been enchanted and augmented with runes.

With Cedric reaching the Grand Runesmith rank and Louie being a Grand Artificer, it was not difficult for them to produce a lot of enchanted and runic horses.

The Demon Hunters themselves were fully equipped.

With an unyielding attitude and a firm mind to fight against demons, Max had created a fearsome organization.

He was delighted.

With every addition of galloping noise behind him, accompanied by the staff and workers in the headquarters clapping and cheering on the sidelines, Max smiled.

The headquarters were brimming with vitality as the Guildmaster led the Demon Hunters to their first fight against demons...
