Chapter 185: The Establishment of the Demon Hunters Guild

The first thirty days of the Demon Hunters Guild were chaotic.

Max, with Danny as his advisor, established the Guild’s headquarters with the Imperial land grant, while the Grand Chancellor handled the political side.

The Imperial Government also helped construct the Guild Headquarters, which included a registration hall, contract hall, training grounds, combat arena, medical wing, equipment storage, demon research room, administrative offices, dormitories, a dining hall, and a small treasury.

It was established not far from the Aurelion Prime—an easier access for those about to become members from different provinces.

With Danny’s lead, the Guild began with their personnel.

With Danny’s role in the Guild, he inevitably became the Deputy Guild Master—a position equivalent to Vice Guild Master, which Danny proposed himself.

Max couldn’t reject him for it; Danny truly lived up to such a role.

To appease Max and with Danny’s suggestion, they created a role, Executive Commander, equal to the Vice Guild Master’s position.

Max didn’t oppose the role.

In fact, Danny assured Max that even Seraphina would have a position equal to theirs, so that every founding member would have an equal role based on their potential.

Danny never doubted Lancelot and Seraphina’s capability.

He knew of their accomplishment before joining the Demon Hunters Guild, and he genuinely admired them.

At the same time, Danny also learned about the other founding members—Max’s younger brother.

He was a mage, so their founding members were only lacking the ranger’s class.

But since Max never spoke about it, the founding members were finalized until they finally established their personnel.

There were senior administrators and imperial legal representatives who also led the Guild.

For the staff, there were 20-30 administrators, 10 healers, 15 instructors, 10 blacksmiths/enchanters, 10 scouts, and 5–10 demon researchers.

They had already recruited an approximate 150-300 Demon Hunters; most were low-rank adventurers in the Aurelion Prime.

The recruitment was just an appetizer.

The following 30 days were the recruitment explosion.

The Emperor publicly endorsed the Guild in the Aurelion Prime, and the recruitment accelerated.

The announcement spread, and the adventurers began arriving.

Some were former soldiers, adventurers, hunters, mercenaries, mages, clerics, scouts, blacksmiths, and even monster hunters.

As a result, Danny introduced its own Demon Hunter Certification.

The person does not need an impressive class and rank, but they must pass the physical, mana, demon knowledge, combat, and teamwork assessments.

It would prevent the adventurers from going straight to the demons’ territory after being blinded by the thousands of missions from the Guild.

By the end of the first month, there were 800 registered hunters, but only 150 were considered combat-ready.

Those registered demon hunters were still in their comprehensive training.

The first half of the second month, consisting of 30 days, was the opening of the first provincial branch in the Mirefall Province.

It was not because Max resided in the Mirefall Province; it was simply because Mirefall had the greatest immediate need for demon hunters.

The branch was naturally smaller than the capital headquarters, but it was still complete.

The branch worked closely with the local government, allowing for its smooth establishment.

Of course, for thirty days, it was not only the first branch that was established, but Danny also proposed the Demon Hunter Outposts.

There were at least three small outposts in the frontier settlements, especially the Greyfen Village, the Fenwatch Crossing, and the Crow’s Crossing.

Each outpost consisted of 10-15 hunters, 1 administrator, 1 healer, and 1 scout.

Those who were sent were naturally those who were trained in the early founding stage of the Guild.

In other words, not a single player was accepted as a member of the Demon Hunters Guild yet.

But because of the Mirefall Branch and the Outposts, it inevitably caught the attention of players, who immediately spread the news in the virtual gaming community.

Although the Lewis Guild successfully established three branches, their main headquarters are located in the Southern Province.

Max caught wind of those topics from Enzo, but didn’t care about it.

For him, his personal and the guild’s progress mattered more.

Though he was naturally happy that the Lewis Guild was being mentioned and appeared to be falling behind his own guild.

The news of him creating his guild didn’t die down until the second half of the second month.

By this point, Danny came to Max and told him his realization.

Simply recruiting wasn’t enough.

The organization needed specialization!

Max had already thought about it and surprised Danny with his proposal.

The Guild needed to create divisions.

The Demon Hunter Combat Division, which was the frontline demon hunters.

The Demon Scout Division, which was responsible for tracking demons, reconnaissance, rift detection, and mapping demon territories near the Empire.

The Demon Support Division, which included healers, alchemists, and rune mages, where Cedric was appointed as the head of the Demon Support Division because of his connections with Max.

The Demon Research Division studied demon anatomy, demonic mana, demon weaknesses, demon materials, contracts, and corruption.

The Demon Hunter Logistics Division, which handled food, equipment, transportation, supplies, and storage.

Max strictly instructed Danny to appoint those who possessed extreme loyalty and a chivalrous character.

They might be rare, but Danny had to carefully choose who would be the head of the divisions to avoid corruption and other diseases that would potentially destroy their Guild.

That was precisely why he appointed Cedric as the head of the Demon Support Division.

It didn’t matter if he didn’t possess the capability, as long as he proved his loyalty, the less chance he would betray Max and the Guild.

Danny followed Max’s instructions and successfully created the Guild’s own structure, allowing the Guild to expand without feeling overwhelmed by the never-ending appearance of demon hunters...
