It was already late in the afternoon that Kate and the technicians left.

Max smiled. For the past two months, he painstakingly increased his level up by 12, and elevated all his passive and active skills’s proficiency.

Of course, he was still not satisfied. He learned that the higher the level, the higher the EXP required to meet and the lower the grind provides.

Still, a progress was a progress.

He stood up and stretched his body. He immediately noticed the effects of having his hardware upgraded and couldn’t help but smile.

He already has idea in mind of what to write in his feedbacks regarding the hardware, which mostly explained how satisfied he was.

He glanced at the window and saw that golden dawn had just appeared on the horizon.

He turned around and proceeded to his library.

Since two months had passed in the real world, Max’s reclusion inside the game was now on its fourth month, as well.

During this time, he did not at once left his residence.

The Commander would often checked up on him, chatting with him most of the time.

Max didn’t feel irk by the Commander’s behavior. On the contrary, he was delighted that he had someone to inquire whenever he faced a confusion despite the joint effort with Jeremiah.

The Commander could answer every of his question, surprising Max, showing that he indeed deserved his current position.

The Archbishop would also call on his private office, where Max wouldn’t hesitate to ask him various questions, especially when it was related to the Church.

Especially after the Imperial Law Collection, the Demon Classification Collection, where they were published by the joint effort of the Holy Church and the Imperial Demon Research Office.

Max gained knowledge about the Hierarchy of Demonic Species, Demonic Phenomena, Demon Physiology, Contract Theory, and Known Demon Kingdoms.

The Hierarchy of Demon Species were paralleled to Humanity’s Ranks.

For instance, D-rank humans, who completed their first class advancement, was equivalent to Lesser Demon.

For C-rank humans, they were equivalent to Lesser Nobles.

For B-rank humans, they were equivalent to Greater Demons.

For A-rank humans, they were equivalent to Demon Lords.

For S-rank humans, they were equivalent to Calamity Archdemons.

For SS-rank humans, they were equivalent to Demon Sovereigns.

As for SSS-rank humans... no one really knows.

However, the Church still gave them the title of Primordial Demons.

They speculated that SSS-Rank was already the highest and demons were known to exist back when the world was born.

Like how darkness appeared earlier than light.

Furthermore, the longer the lifespan of the demons, the stronger they were.

If such demons still existed from the birth of the universe and lived up to this day, they deserved the title "Primordial."

As for the known demon kingdoms at the moment, there were four of them.

Max learned that the demons were not truly united.

Max recalled Malveris and Varkhaz.

As for Malveris, he was indeed a rogue demon, who was not interested in the demon kingdom’s politics—only focused on building his own power by using humans.

Although the four Demon Sovereigns were not personally involved, their vassals always got into conflict with one another, allowing humanity to take a breath from their invasion.

Max also learned that the authority of Godhand of Salvation he left behind during his final sacrifice was the primary reason why even a Demon Sovereign could not invade.

Archdemons and higher could not personally invade a specific part of the Empire even with the help of the rift as the Authority of Salvation would immediately gather and force them out.

Unfortunately, the Authority of Salvation would only work against Archdemons and above, while Demon Lord and below could freely enter with limited forces.

The Authority of Salvation’s power dwindled as time passed by.

The Archbishop speculated that it would not last long for another thousand years, causing Max to inwardly chuckle.

The kingdom wouldn’t last for the next ten years as the Authority of Salvation couldn’t stop the full force blunt assault by demons and monsters for every year.

If only the humanity progressed during the protection of Godhand of Salvation...
