Apocalypse: My Tattoos are Ten Yama Kings

Chapter 719 - 713: Reaching business, Demon Lord retreats for now

  • Next Chapter

In his wrath, the Demon Lord is capable of anything.

Therefore, before the Demon Lord erupts in anger, his fury must be subdued.

"Demon Lord, by all means, do not listen to his attempts to sow discord."

"What can the Yin Celestial Son do for you? He can provide nothing!"

"In the end, the only ones who can aid you are us!"

"If you trust him, after he’s stirred up trouble, he’ll just leave, and who then will come to your aid?"

"Do you trust him or do you trust us?" The Buddha spoke emphatically, trying his best to persuade the Demon Lord.

The Buddha’s words caused the Demon Lord to fall into contemplation.

"Boom!"

The Demon Lord struck at the projection of the Yin Celestial Son, and under the tremendous energy, the projection turned into flying ash in an instant.

"Yin Celestial Son, do you truly take me for a fool!"

"I won’t fall for your tricks of sowing discord!" the Demon Lord roared.

After the projection was shattered by the Demon Lord, the Yin Celestial Son did not form a new projection.

It was unnecessary.

What needed to be done was already accomplished, and regardless of the outcome, it was time to let it rest.

Moreover...

On the surface, the Demon Lord seemed to have rejected the Yin Celestial Son’s attempts to create division.

But, in truth, is that really the case?

Are the Demon Lord, Wa Huang, and the Buddha truly that close-knit?

I fear not!

Once the seeds of doubt are sown, they are bound to take root and sprout sooner or later.

Next, the Yin Celestial Son need not do anything further, but quietly wait for this seed of suspicion to grow.

The Yin Celestial Son believes that the conflict among Wa Huang, the Demon Lord, and the Buddha will inevitably erupt one day.

Seeing the Demon Lord’s strike dispersing the projection of the Yin Celestial Son, both the Buddha and Wa Huang couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

"Demon Lord, I knew you would make the right choice."

"Yin Celestial Son is merely trying to sow discord; surely you would not fall for such crude tactics," the Buddha said with a grin.

While the Buddha smiled, the Demon Lord kept a cold expression as he looked at him.

They stared at each other, neither speaking a word, just maintaining the gaze.

As the stare elongated, the Buddha couldn’t help but feel uncertain; he sensed something off about the Demon Lord’s current demeanor!

"Demon Lord, what do you mean by this?" the Buddha inquired.

With a frigid look, the Demon Lord retorted coldly, "The Yin Celestial Son’s tactics are undoubtedly crude, but does that mean they lack all sense?"

"Have you and Wa Huang truly never calculated against me?"

"Are you in cahoots?"

"From the moment I became entangled by the Power of Cause and Effect, you both likely wished to get rid of me more than anyone else, and didn’t act only to avoid paying the price for doing so!"

Since the Demon Lord became bound by cause and effect, Wa Huang, the Demon Lord, and the Buddha had already started to drift apart.

The Demon Lord tangled in cause and effect, could do no good, instead being a burden.

In a team, how can you expect others to regard you as a companion when you’re a hindrance?

For now, the Buddha and Wa Huang are stuck with the Demon Lord, unable to shake him off.

To avoid inciting the Demon Lord, the Buddha continued to explain, "Demon Lord, don’t overthink."

"We are companions, indeed."

"When we can assist, of course, we will help you."

"That oath was not meant to calculate against you. You should understand, finding a method to eliminate the Power of Cause and Effect is not easy."

"We can only promise to try our best to aid you, but we can’t guarantee we’ll definitely find it."

"In helping you, we’ll exert our utmost effort."

After the Buddha finished speaking, Wa Huang also chimed in from the side: "The Buddha is right; we have no reason to harm you."

"If the Power of Cause and Effect on you can be eliminated, we will still be three against the Yin Celestial Son. Without you, we’d be two against him."

After pondering for a long time, the Demon Lord grasped the crucial point and calmed down.

Simply put, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the Buddha and Wa Huang’s own interests, they are willing to help the Demon Lord find a way to eradicate the Power of Cause and Effect.

"Hmph!" The Demon Lord snorted in dissatisfaction but ultimately relented, "Whether or not you exert your utmost effort is not just empty talk."

"From today onward, regarding matters of eliminating the Power of Cause and Effect, if I have occasion to call upon you, you must assist unconditionally, yes or no."

The Demon Lord could avoid causing trouble if granted a promise.

The Buddha and Wa Huang exchanged glances, and finally, the Buddha softly spoke, "Yes, we promise."

"Swear it!" the Demon Lord said solemnly.

The Buddha did not bother procrastinating. Since willing to agree, swearing was no harm; a vow could reassure the Demon Lord, sparing any further mishaps.

"I, the Buddha, swear, should it pertain to eliminating the Power of Cause and Effect, if the Demon Lord requests, I shall not refuse."

"If I break this vow, may I be scattered in spirit." The Buddha held two fingers like a sword and made the vow.

After the Buddha swore, without needing the Demon Lord’s urging, Wa Huang swiftly followed by swearing: I, Wa Huang, swear, should it pertain to eliminating the Power of Cause and Effect, if the Demon Lord requests, I shall not refuse."

"If I break this vow, may I be scattered in spirit."

With vows committed by both the Buddha and Wa Huang, the Demon Lord was satisfied.

"I’ll first go seek ways to eliminate the Power of Cause and Effect; you two, go and deal with the remnants of the Void Race!"

"I leave the disciples of the Great Demon God Palace to you, Buddha, to command!"

"Unless the Void Race is eradicated, and their clan extinguished, my anger shall not be quenched!" the Demon Lord said through gritted teeth.

The Demon Lord now harbors deep hatred towards the Void Race.

Had it not been for the Void Race’s Grand Elder inviting death by colliding with his palm, he would not have ended up entangled by cause and effect.

The solution to eradicating the Power of Cause and Effect is hard to find; this is not an overnight task.

For now, the priority is to annihilate the remnants of the Void Race, then gradually assist the Demon Lord in searching for the method to eliminate the Power of Cause and Effect.

After speaking, the Demon Lord departed first.

Now entangled by cause and effect, whomever gets involved with him is cursed.

Therefore, it is best for him to remain alone for now, to avoid harming others.

Watching the Demon Lord’s departing figure, the Buddha spoke to Wa Huang: "We must aid him!"

"Not helping him still proves troublesome."

Though Wa Huang detests the Demon Lord, she understands the greater picture.

"If possible, we naturally help, yet how shall we assist?"

"The matter of cause and effect, Buddha, you’ve studied it most deeply. How do you think we should eliminate the Power of Cause and Effect?" Wa Huang asked.

Buddhist Dharma emphasizes cause and effect, and the Buddha’s study of it is indeed the deepest among the Four Great Primordial Spirits.

The Buddha studies cause and effect, Wa Huang studies the seven emotions and six desires within the mortal realm, while the Demon Lord studies slaughter and all negative emotions....

After pondering for a moment, the Buddha replied, "Every affair begins with cause and ends with effect; the Void Race Grand Elder is the cause, and the Demon Lord entangled by cause and effect is the effect."

"To unbind the bell, one must find the one who tied it; this matter may still require a solution sought from the Void Race."
