Chapter 510: Chapter 244: Lin Feng Lv. 32, Parasitic Control, Trial Plans
Jiang Yun’er took a deep breath. Sensing Lin Feng’s detached gaze, she forced herself to calm down and asked,
"What is this method? Are there any side effects? How do I need to cooperate?"
Ling Yi nodded, quite pleased with her receptive attitude. She pointed to the unconscious Zerg matriarch in the bag beside them.
"Do you know how they use the Zerg Eggs of their progeny to control and influence Low-tier Awakeners? The principle is the same. It’s just that controlling a Tier Two Awakener requires a Tier Two Zerg matriarch to do the job herself."
At Ling Yi’s explanation, deep fear washed over Jiang Yun’er’s pale face.
Even though she had already become a half-human, half-Zerg monstrosity, the thought of letting a live insect enter her body was unacceptable, both physically and mentally.
Besides, the creature’s purpose was to parasitize a host, ultimately consuming its brain entirely.
Fortunately, Ling Yi added,
"Don’t worry about it being dangerous. Without an order from us, this young Zerg matriarch will lie dormant on your spine and enter a long period of hibernation. Aside from absorbing some nutrients to survive, it’s completely harmless."
With that, Ling Yi slowly opened her hand and gestured for Jiang Yun’er to turn around.
Jiang Yun’er took off her tattered black robe and peeled away the cracked shell on her torso, revealing her true form.
The nation’s former sweetheart had been transformed by the Mother Empress’s cellular genes, her body now a bizarre, grotesque fusion of human and Zerg.
Except for her head and limbs, her torso was completely covered in a Zerg Shell. Three segmented, insect-like tails extended from her tailbone, resembling a centipede’s legs. They were dotted with Spiritual Energy release points, designed specifically to work with Realm Power and enhance its control effects.
Lin Feng was unfazed by the sight. After seeing what Shen Jie, Zhang Liying, and the Genetic Warriors looked like, he had grown immune to all manner of grotesque mutations.
Seeing Jiang Yun’er expose herself so completely, a sly glint flashed in Ling Yi’s eyes. In truth, all she needed to do was lift her hood and collar to bare her neck.
But to embarrass Jiang Yun’er and let Lin Feng see the full extent of her mutated form, Ling Yi was more than happy to play a little prank.
As Jiang Yun’er turned away, a long slit gradually split open the skin on Ling Yi’s outstretched palm, revealing the blood vessels and muscle within.
A blood-red Zerg Egg, formed from Ling Yi’s own flesh and blood, was pushed out by the muscles and rested in her palm.
She then stepped forward and gently placed the Zerg Egg from her palm onto the nape of Jiang Yun’er’s neck.
Sensing fresh blood and a potential host, the Zerg Egg quickly hatched under Ling Yi’s catalytic control, breaking out of its shell.
A flat, multi-segmented insect about thirty centimeters long crawled from the Zerg Egg onto Jiang Yun’er’s neck, pressing itself against her entire cervical spine.
Then, from beneath its Shell, hundreds of hair-thin appendages sprouted and instantly pierced into Jiang Yun’er’s back.
While injecting her with an anesthetic, it began to use its sharp, multi-jointed limbs to slice through the softened Outer Armor on her skin, and the entire creature slowly burrowed inside.
A moment later, the painless parasitic procedure was successfully completed under Ling Yi’s meticulous control.
Only a scab of dried blood on the wound’s surface remained as evidence of the parasite’s entry.
"It’s done."
Hearing the voice behind her, Jiang Yun’er turned around, trembling slightly, and put her robe back on.
Ling Yi returned to her seat and continued,
"The procedure was perfect. You should feel almost no discomfort. You don’t need to worry. As long as you don’t do anything to harm us, it won’t activate."
"It’s now connected to your nervous system—a perfect fusion, you could say. Even if you advance to Tier Three, you won’t be able to separate it."
"Over time, it will gradually replace your real nervous system. By then, however, your mission should be complete. I’ll transfer control of it to you, along with its unique genetic blueprint."
"At that point, you’ll be able to use your Realm Power to erase its instinct to proliferate and activate."
Jiang Yun’er nodded, only half-understanding. She felt a cold dread on the back of her neck, as if a blade was constantly poised there, ready to fall.
"Th-thank you."
Ling Yi just grunted and said no more.
Lin Feng then said,
"Alright. Find a place to rest."
"You’ll probably be put to use in a couple of days."
Jiang Yun’er took a deep breath. She glanced around the desolate summit of Yunxia Ridge, then found a small pavilion to lie down in, where she tossed and turned.
By the summit bonfire, only Lin Feng and Ling Yi remained.
"How should we use these two big things?"
"If I advance normally, my Spiritual Attribute growth will reach the upper limit of the Tier Three Early Stage after I absorb one more Mother Empress Brain Marrow. What about the other one? Should I integrate it into the Reproductive Armor Mecha?"
Lin Feng, now at Lv. 32, already had a Spiritual Attribute of two thousand nine hundred. Leveling up once more would bring him to at least thirty-four hundred. He only needed to absorb one more Mother Empress Brain Marrow to touch the Early Stage’s cap of Four Thousand.
Hearing Lin Feng’s question, Ling Yi shook her head.
"The Reproductive Armor Mecha was created from the Yunxia Ridge Mother Empress, which was on the verge of advancing. It’s already at Tier Three Early-Stage Perfection. Adding other Early Stage materials won’t enhance it at all; it would just be a waste of a precious King Zerg Level resource."
"If you want to create another Biological Mecha now, without a Mother Empress’s Corpse, you’d need a Swarm of tens of thousands as raw material just to cultivate and incubate the Tier Three Cells."
