Chapter 474: Chapter 232: Optimization, Entering the Capital City, and a Reunion

After hearing Lin Feng’s tactical breakdown, Ling Yi’s eyes brightened. The worry vanished from her face as she spoke with a touch of excitement,

"That’s right! If we can get ten or twenty thousand Awakeners to coordinate with us, they could slow the Zerg Race’s invasion from the rear and raid their Hives. We could then pincer them, wipe out a huge portion of the Swarm, and maybe even take down a few Tier Three Early Stage Mother Empresses."

"But it’s nearly two hundred kilometers to the Federal Capital and back. Can you even make it in time if you leave now?"

Lin Feng nodded confidently.

"Don’t forget, on the plane ride over, I jumped out and dealt with a few Tier Two Wind-winged Zergs. I have their Membrane Wings now, so my flight speed has more than doubled."

"I can fly over Mach 2, which is 2,500 kilometers per hour. A mere two-hundred-kilometer round trip won’t even take me ten minutes."

Ling Yi hummed in agreement, a hint of regret in her voice.

"It’s a pity you can’t just pilot this Flesh and Blood Mecha to the Federal Capital."

"You just called it a Reproductive Armor Mecha. That name really is more fitting."

"Flesh and blood, self-repair, autonomous evolution... It’s so much stronger than any mechanical mecha."

Lin Feng nodded. He, too, wished he could pilot the Reproductive Armor to the Federal Capital. He wanted to descend like a god, save the masses, and indulge in the thrill of a grand, public display of power.

But the situation didn’t permit it.

"It’s not an option. The Mecha is too big, making it impossible to hide in the air. It would be easily spotted by the Cyan-winged and Wind-winged Zergs circling above the four Mother Empresses."

"Besides, even if it were fast enough, maintaining that massive frame would be a huge drain on its stored energy. It simply doesn’t have the capacity for long-distance flight."

"Instead, we’ll have it stay behind the front lines. It can activate its autonomous Sentinel Guard Mode to kill any Samurai Hunter Zergs that manage to slip through."

Though the Biological Reproductive Armor was only the size of a Tier One Late Stage Black Spine Zerg—even smaller than a Wind-winged Zerg—its raw materials all came from a High-tier Mother Empress. The average density of its cells and skeleton far surpassed that of the Wind-winged and Tiger Spine Zergs.

The half-piece of Golden Neck Guard alone weighed over ten tons. Combined with the Tiger Spine Zerg Outer Armor covering its surface, the mecha weighed a startling one hundred-plus tons, despite being only seven-odd meters tall and about four meters wide.

Even if fitted with the Membrane Wings of a Tier Two Wind-winged Zerg, it would struggle with long-distance flight, as its energy consumption would be dozens of times greater than a normal Wind-winged Zerg’s.

After its current modifications, it only had a few pairs of Tier One Cyan Wing Membrane Wings. These allowed it to glide for about ten kilometers, which, combined with its high-speed running, was enough to break through enemy formations in a surprise assault.

Piloting the Reproductive Armor Mecha for over a hundred kilometers would require it to kill and absorb the Life Energy from dozens of Tier Two Zerg Race along the way just to maintain combat readiness—and that’s even if it started with a full tank of Organic Nutrient Liquid.

Therefore, leaving it at the Yunxia Ridge front for Ling Yi to operate was the best option.

Having made his decision, Lin Feng wasted no time. He began assigning tasks to the veteran Battle Group leaders Liu Yi and Shen Jie, who had since woken up, and to Liu Yueqi and the twelve other new Tier Two Late-stage Perfect Awakeners who had just completed their advancement.

Liu Yi and the other veteran leaders still needed more time to rest.

So, they were tasked with guarding the home base. They would remain near the main Nest, continuing to absorb Life Energy from the Tier Two Zerg Eggs to replenish their depleted Life Force.

The other members would lead two hundred Warriors to the front lines to support the three Battle Groups stationed there.

With everything arranged, Lin Feng led the group down to the valley floor at the foot of Hundred Herbs Mountain. He looked toward Ling Yi and the new Reproductive Armor Mecha, which now stood beside her, away from the incubating Nest.

The Biological Reproductive Armor now had a more mechanical look. Its previously orange-yellow Outer Armor had turned a bluish-gray, but tough, crimson muscle bands were still exposed at the joints of its torso and limbs. On its back were six new pairs of enhanced Cyan Wing Membrane Wings. The muscles that controlled them extended to their base, looking incredibly powerful.

"With its current power, it could take on a Tier Three Early Stage Mother Empress one-on-one. Combined with a skilled pilot and the powerful equipment you carry, you could achieve a quick kill."

"The only issue is endurance—it can only fight for an hour at most right now. The good news is that after killing a Mother Empress, it can absorb the Life Energy from its body and the nutrients from the incubating Nest it leaves behind."

"If it keeps getting stronger like this, someday you might even be able to pilot it to challenge a Tier Three Peak Life Form, or even go a round or two with a Cosmic Life."

Ling Yi gazed at the masterpiece she had built with her own hands, remarking with self-assured pride.

But Lin Feng had other ideas besides admiring the newly optimized Mecha.

"This is great. Can we mass-produce them?"

Ling Yi shot him a glare.

"Do you think these are some cheap goods you can find anywhere? The base technology for this thing is thousands of years beyond what you humans are capable of. Besides, its foundational materials all come from a Tier Three Life Form..."

"One High-tier Mother Empress can, at most, produce one mecha like this one, plus a non-sentient version. So, do you still think mass production is possible?"

"Even if you handed it over to your scientists, humanity’s current level of technology is so primitive they wouldn’t be able to make heads or tails of it."

"Tell them to figure out Tier Three Cells first. Then they can start thinking about practical applications."

Lin Feng chose to ignore Ling Yi’s mockery, focusing only on one key piece of information: one Mother Empress equaled two Reproductive Armor Mechas.

"Fine. After this mission, you’ll get the Mother Empress corpses we collect. I need a batch of intelligent Biological Armor with their own power systems as soon as possible."
