Apocalypse: King of Zombies

Chapter 1570 - 1570: How Do You Fight a Team Like This?

Once Ethan had fully recovered, Mia activated Power Transfer.

Energy poured into him, pushing his already maxed-out mental energy and strength even higher.

Unfortunately, Mia was only Tier 37. Even transferring everything she had didn't give Ethan much of a boost.

The skill left her completely drained. She sank to the ground, too weak to stay on her feet.

Emily waved a hand, sending two beams of light into Ethan.

Strength Blessing!

Mental Blessing!

The two powerful support skills raised his strength another level. Feeling the energy surging through him, Ethan regained his confidence.

"Stay back and take care of Mia."

"Got it."

The others helped Mia away from the battlefield while Ethan moved closer, searching for an opening.

Before long, the Gildari Patriarch and Dopey clashed again, knocking each other backward.

Now!

Ethan appeared behind the Patriarch and immediately activated Soulbane Gaze.

The difference in their strength was too great for the ability to damage the Patriarch's soul, but it still stunned him for an instant.

That instant was all Ethan needed.

Intense black light gathered around his Poleaxe as he brought it down on the Patriarch's head.

This time, he didn't use Absolute Stasis. The skill consumed a substantial amount of mental energy, which would weaken his Annihilation Strike.

By waiting until the Patriarch had been knocked back and using Soulbane Gaze to stun him, Ethan could keep him from dodging or defending without wasting the extra energy.

An Annihilation Strike fueled by every last drop of Ethan's mental energy slammed into the Patriarch's skull.

Thud!

The Gildari Patriarch was smashed into the ground.

The recoil hurled Ethan in the opposite direction. His Poleaxe flew from his grip, and his arm exploded into a cloud of blood.

A full-power Annihilation Strike took a serious toll on his body. With the added strength he'd borrowed from the others, his body simply couldn't withstand the recoil.

The others caught him immediately. Henry rushed to heal him while Emily began restoring his mental energy.

Across the battlefield, the Gildari Patriarch quickly climbed back to his feet. Ethan's attack had split open the metal covering his head, but that was the extent of the damage.

The Patriarch flew into a rage and charged straight at Ethan's group.

Having his head cracked open by some weakling who had barely reached Stage SSS was an unbearable humiliation.

But the moment he moved, Dopey blocked his path.

Dopey had been his opponent from the beginning. Ethan was only there to ambush him.

As long as Dopey stood in his way, he had no chance of reaching the others.

The Gildari Patriarch was furious, but there was nothing he could do. Dopey was faster and slightly stronger. He couldn't get past him, so he had no choice but to resume their battle.

While the two fought, Ethan's arms slowly regrew under Henry's healing.

Emily's Energy Link steadily replenished his mental energy as well.

A little over ten minutes later, Ethan was back at full strength.

He recalled his Poleaxe and approached the battlefield again.

This time, the Gildari Patriarch noticed him immediately.

"Don't waste your time," he said coldly. "Someone as weak as you can't threaten me, and I won't fall for the same trick twice. Attack me again, and I'll kill you!"

Ethan ignored the threat and ordered Dopey to press him even harder.

"Hmph. Just wait. Once the Celestials Patriarch deals with that bastard outside, he'll shatter this ridiculous dimension with a single blow. Then every last one of you will die!"

"You sure talk a lot."

Ethan's voice sounded beside his ear.

He had already appeared behind the Patriarch, his Poleaxe swinging down at him.

The Gildari Patriarch didn't panic. Instead, a triumphant smile appeared on his face.

"Die!"

The iron staff he had been swinging at Dopey abruptly changed direction and swept toward Ethan.

The Patriarch was confident he could withstand one attack from the soulless thrall. Ethan, on the other hand, could never survive a direct hit from his staff.

At this rate, his weapon would land first.

But Ethan's abilities were beyond his understanding.

Just as the staff was about to strike, everything froze.

Only Ethan's Poleaxe continued moving, wrapped in intense black light as it slammed directly into the existing wound on the Patriarch's head.

Boom!

The Gildari Patriarch was driven into the ground once more.

The recoil sent Ethan flying again, and his arm exploded under the force.

The others caught him as he fell, and Henry and Emily immediately began treating him.

The Gildari Patriarch wasn't so lucky.

Before he could recover from the impact, a black spear thrust toward him.

At the last possible second, he rolled aside and scrambled back. Even so, another black spear struck him and sent him flying again.

He quickly climbed to his feet and glared furiously at Ethan in the distance.

The wound on his head had widened, and blood flowed steadily from it. The pain had grown severe.

Taking one of Dopey's black spears head-on had injured him as well.

If this continued, he might actually slip up and die here.

He wanted to change the course of the battle, but his opponents gave him no chance.

The moment he regained his footing, Dopey charged again, thrusting his spear with tremendous energy behind it.

With no other option, the Gildari Patriarch swung his staff to meet the attack.

Meanwhile, Ethan kept repeating the same infuriating strategy.

The instant he recovered, he came back. Absolute Stasis, then Annihilation Strike—always aimed directly at the wound.

Every attack made the injury worse.

The Gildari Patriarch was absolutely livid. He'd fought plenty of infuriating opponents before, but never anything this obnoxious.

At this rate, they were actually going to wear him down and kill him.

Sure, Ethan wrecked himself every time he attacked—but what did that matter when he had a damn Healer right behind him? And not just any Healer, either. The bastard could regrow severed limbs!

As if that wasn't bad enough, they even had someone restoring his mental energy. How the hell was anyone supposed to fight a team like this?

The Gildari Patriarch didn't even have the energy to complain anymore.

The one encouraging sign was that Ethan took longer to recover after every attack. That gave him some small measure of relief.

Now all he could do was hope the Celestials Patriarch hurried up and dealt with that loudmouthed bastard outside, then shattered this damned dimension and rescued him.

Once the two Patriarchs reunited, wiping out these people would take no effort at all.
