Apocalypse: I'm Bound to a Mobile Lottery Shop
Chapter 385: Milk Tea Shop Opening
Chapter 385: Chapter 385: Milk Tea Shop Opening
"No way! Don’t tell me that bitch won the first prize!"
"It’s, it’s very possible. Hey, hey, hey, don’t do anything rash!" he said, grabbing his friend who was about to charge forward recklessly.
He advised, "If she really did win it, her future is limitless. We can’t afford to mess with her!"
The friend was too angry and violently shook off his hand. "Let’s go! We’re not buying!"
After walking a few steps, he noticed the other guy hadn’t followed. He stared wide-eyed and urged, "Come on! I’m not letting that bitch make money off me!"
The friend said weakly, "But I want one... We’re already here, let’s just grab a cup before we go!"
The two of them quietly got in line, trying to keep their heads down so Serena Sawyer wouldn’t spot them.
But Serena Sawyer was so busy she didn’t even notice them. It wasn’t until they walked out with hot milk tea in hand, took a sip, and both exclaimed, "This is delicious!"
Inside the milk tea shop, Serena Sawyer was bustling about behind the counter.
Her hands were moving so fast they were practically creating sparks. Her main job was to hand the milk tea to customers to prevent them from taking extra or grabbing the wrong order.
As she worked, she muttered, "Here’s your pearl milk tea, don’t forget a straw!"
"Here’s your grass jelly, don’t forget a spoon and a straw!"
Lily Hart was helping on the side, arranging the drinks neatly according to the last digit of the order numbers to make them easier to find.
Thankfully, the counter was big enough, or it really wouldn’t have been able to hold so many milk teas.
The two robots in the back were also extremely busy, but thankfully, everyone stuck to their roles, and no mistakes were made.
They were busy straight through until seven o’clock, by which time they had used up all their prepared ingredients. Business was booming.
When Lily Hart didn’t return for dinner, Frost Shaw came looking for her and ended up joining the workforce without even realizing it.
Serena Sawyer kept repeating, "We’re all sold out for today, please come back tomorrow..."
After hearing it several times, the customers finally accepted this fact and gradually left. The three of them shook their hands, which felt like they were about to fall off.
But they were superpower users, after all. After a short rest, they felt much better.
Worried she was tired, Frost Shaw took her hand and started rubbing her wrist and kneading her fingers to relax her muscles.
Although Lily Hart felt it wasn’t particularly helpful and clearly suspected he had ulterior motives, she just smiled and didn’t stop him.
Serena Sawyer saw this, smiled, and tactfully averted her gaze, starting the cleanup work with the robots.
For example, mopping the floor, cleaning the equipment, and washing the stainless steel basins that held the toppings—they would need them all again tomorrow.
Luckily, the robots could handle it all; she just needed to tidy things up a bit.
The state of the lobby was also a concern. Too many people had carelessly tossed the plastic wrappers from their straws onto the floor.
As a result, the floor was covered in trash, which was now even messier after being trampled on. Serena Sawyer resignedly picked up a broom.
Meanwhile, Lily Hart was using her other hand—the one not being held by Frost Shaw—to operate her Light Brain.
After a long day’s work, Serena Sawyer’s normally straight, black hair had become a bit frizzy. She was about to tie it up before sweeping.
A flash of white light shot past her eyes, and suddenly, the floor was sparkling clean—exactly as it had been when they first redeemed the prize!
It was as if no customer had ever sullied it.
Serena Sawyer dropped her hands in surprise and looked at Boss Hart, who gave her a raised-eyebrow smile and said, "Stop sweeping. Go get something to eat."
Forgetting about food, she rushed over to Boss Hart, grabbed both her hands, and shook them excitedly.
Frost Shaw: ?
Serena Sawyer excitedly hugged Lily Hart. "Ahhh! Boss Hart, you’re amazing! You even have one-touch cleaning!"
As she spoke, she planted a big, loud kiss on Lily Hart’s cheek.
After the kiss, she hurriedly let go and dashed out of the milk tea shop. She was starving and going to eat!
Lily Hart was stunned. Frost Shaw was stunned too, but he reacted quickly.
He leaned in, planted a loud kiss on her other cheek, and then wiped the spot Serena Sawyer had kissed a couple of times.
Lily Hart: "..." ’I’m speechless, folks.’
’What are they trying to do, one after another, men and women alike?’
"Come on, let’s go eat too," Lily Hart called out, closing the milk tea shop’s door behind her as she left.
When the two of them returned to the RV, one after the other, Seth and Stan Sterling were in the kitchen stir-frying.
They were almost finished, with just the last two dishes to go. Leo Colby sat on the sofa, his gaze fixed on Lily Hart and Frost Shaw.
’Strange,’ he thought. ’Those two have been inseparable today.’
Lily Hart sat down, and Frost Shaw naturally poured her a glass of water. She said, "A new milk tea shop opened. You guys should go check it out when you have time."
She then took the water, downed it in one gulp, and just as naturally, shoved the empty glass back into Frost Shaw’s hand.
The guys weren’t particularly interested in milk tea; only Cynthia Whittaker chimed in enthusiastically, "Okay! I haven’t had it in so long!"
"We’ll go tomorrow. As employees, we should get priority service. After all, there aren’t many of us," Lily Hart said with a laugh.
Owen Warren was also curious. "What does milk tea taste like? I really want to try it!"
Lily Hart searched for the right words. "A sweet taste?"
"I have to try it then. Sweet is good! I remember there was this bitter drink once, and that was not good at all!" Owen Warren said with extreme disdain.
"You mean coffee?" Lily Hart added.
"Ah, right! That’s it, coffee! It’s disgustingly bad!" Owen Warren cursed.
Frost Shaw’s head turned slightly as he looked from Lily Hart to Owen Warren, his eyes darkening a little.
From a short distance away, Leo Colby watched with great interest, a hint of amusement in his eyes.
Everyone was quite busy, so they finished the meal quickly.
After dinner, it wasn’t long until closing time.
After closing, Lily Hart initiated a vote on which shop to keep, then began the great shop shuffle.
She followed the plan from the morning, even taking out the piece of paper to follow it precisely.
Less than five minutes later, done!
After finishing, Lily Hart propped her hands on the table and looked forward.
Shops lined both sides. Though they were all different shapes, they looked quite harmonious arranged together.
Although the sky was completely dark, all the shops were lit up. From this angle, Lily Hart took a picture.
The various shop owners were mentally prepared, but they were still surprised when the shops actually moved.
The clinic and the convenience store had been separated by the breakfast shop, but now they were neighbors.
Frost Shaw and Roman Rowe were both leaning against their respective shop doors, waving hello.
They didn’t just greet their next-door neighbors, but also the shop owners across the street. Everyone seemed quite satisfied with the new layout, as everything was clear at a glance.
Having done all this, Lily Hart closed up the four sides of the RV’s first floor and went upstairs to wash up.
After washing up, Lily Hart checked the poll results. The competition between the clinic and the hardware store was fierce.
But the clinic won by a narrow margin.
Lily Hart felt the clinic was the ultimate cheat item. No matter the illness, as long as you had the money, you could just lie down inside and be cured.
’Who wouldn’t want that?’
’Besides, they already had automatic vending machines and scratch-off machines, so of course the clinic was the top choice!’
Lily Hart finished duplicating the clinic, pulled the covers over herself, and prepared to sleep. It was now eleven-thirty.
Usually, she fell asleep in seconds, but tonight she tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep!
In disbelief, she got up to use the bathroom, then tried two or three different sleeping positions, but nothing worked.
