Chapter 360: Chapter 269: Miss Zheng the Elder: Willing to Work Like an Ox and Horse

The Martial Artists fanned out, taking positions to face the Extraordinaries. The defenders were outnumbered five to one, and the attackers still had men to spare.

The two sides clashed, and in the blink of an eye, dozens of moves had been exchanged.

The Extraordinaries of Five Families City were already starting to sweat, while the two top-tier Sixth Grade masters had yet to truly exert themselves.

CLANG!

A great hammer struck in mid-air, the sound deafening.

The five-man team, which had been coordinating perfectly, suddenly shuddered as if struck by lightning.

Their counterattacks slowed for an instant.

A Sound Technique!

An older Extraordinary with graying hair and beard was struck by the great hammer.

His chest caved in, and his eyes instantly bulged, filling with blood. He was clearly on his last breaths.

"Grandfather!" A beautiful young Female Martial Artist turned, saw this, and could not help but cry out in grief.

’This is bad!’

’The Clan Elders are going to lose!’

The man struck by the giant hammer was one of the Zheng Clan Elders.

With one man down from their five-man team, the remaining four could no longer pose a threat.

The giant hammer swung in a series of sweeps and smashes. Two Extraordinaries were hit and sent flying. Only two managed to barely escape, unsure of what to do.

In a flash, only two of the original five remained, while the enemy was completely unscathed!

’This is nothing like before!’

The Black Mountain King had attacked before, but he had been stopped cold by their five-man joint attack technique.

On top of that, the number of other Extraordinaries in Five Families City was far greater than in Black Mountain Camp.

The Black Mountain King had been unable to breach Five Families City and could only retreat in frustration.

"You fools! The gap between one Sixth Grade master and another is even greater than the gap between fools like you and a common Martial Artist!"

The giant holding the great hammer jeered, then leveled his weapon and said coldly, "If you know what’s good for you, kneel now. Lead your clan in surrender to me! I guarantee I’ll at least let you eat. Otherwise, grandpa’s Big Iron Hammer shows no mercy!"

Before the two could answer, screams of agony erupted from the other side.

"Father!"

"Clan Leader!"

The other top-tier Sixth Grade master had unleashed his power with exceptional ruthlessness. The thick, long arrows in his hand, like short spears, suddenly blurred into countless afterimages.

In quick succession, he tore through the bodies of three Extraordinaries.

Then, he casually threw one of the spear-like arrows, piercing two other Extraordinaries who were trying to flee.

Three dead, two gravely wounded.

Of the ten Extraordinaries of Five Families City, six were dead in an instant.

Another two were gravely wounded.

The only two left standing were utterly stunned, frozen on the spot, not knowing whether to flee or fight to the death.

"Kneel and you will not be killed!"

The Sixth Grade master issued his ultimatum.

They weren’t the only ones in despair.

The scions of the Five Great Clans’ Direct Lineage, who were usually so high and mighty, were all dumbfounded.

Miss Zheng the Elder’s beautiful face lost all color. Her father was dead, her grandfather was dead. Her world was collapsing.

She stood in the distance, trembling all over, refusing to leave no matter how her personal maid pulled at her.

"I’ll fight you! I’ll fight you to the death!"

PSSSH!

She crushed a Jade Token in her palm. An Extraordinary Level attack immediately shot out, slashing at a nearby Martial Artist and slicing off his arm along with half his shoulder.

The Martial Artist staggered away as blood sprayed out, splashing onto her face and body, still warm.

Zheng Nanzhu shuddered violently. Seeing more Martial Artists charging toward her with ferocious expressions, she couldn’t help but take half a step back.

"Miss! I’m begging you! Let’s go, quickly!"

Zheng Nanzhu finally came to her senses, grabbed her maid, and turned to flee.

With its resistance crushed, the once-prosperous Five Families City instantly became a playground for beasts.

BANG!

They kicked down doors, saw a man, and cut him down. They saw a woman—if she was ugly, they turned and left; if she was pretty, they kept her, right in front of her man...

Murder, arson, rape, and plunder—these were their greatest pursuits after breaking the city.

Even the two Sixth Grade masters couldn’t resist. They charged into the core bunkers of the Five Great Clans and began to burn and kill wantonly, doing as they pleased.

The Inner City of Five Families City transformed from a land of wealth and prosperity into a living hell in the blink of an eye.

"Miss, run!"

"Xiaotao, no!"

Two Martial Artists were getting closer from behind. The maid suddenly broke free from Miss Zheng the Elder’s grasp.

She turned to block one of the Martial Artists.

But he just bent down sharply, hoisted her onto his shoulder, and skillfully restrained her arms and legs.

The maid was only a Third-Class Martial Artist; she squirmed but was powerless to resist.

SMACK!

"Behave, you little bitch! Don’t be so eager! Once I catch your miss, we’ll see how I finish you both off!"

"Hehehe."

In the frantic chase, Zheng Nanzhu ran without a clear path and ended up at the foot of the West Gate City Wall.

"Well now! Look at this fine piece of work!"

"Today’s my lucky day to feast!"

An Extraordinary in charge of guarding the city wall saw her face and figure clearly from a distance and, unable to restrain himself, leaped down from the ramparts.

The pursuing Martial Artist cursed under his breath. Still carrying the captured maid, he turned to leave.

’That Extraordinary has taken an interest. The beautiful little thing up ahead has nothing to do with me now.’

"Wait! Who’s that on your shoulder? Does this woman have any family? Bring her mother to me too!"

’Mother?!’

Zheng Nanzhu’s eyes filled with despair. ’That’s right, Mother... my mother is still at home. My aunts, my sisters, they’re all at home! What will happen to them?’

Just the thought of it made her tremble in fear. "Save me! Can anyone save me! Save my mother, save my family!"

The Extraordinary drew closer. Zheng Nanzhu could smell the stench of blood and foul body odor on him. Her body trembled even more violently.

"Die!" Fear gave birth to courage.

But her palm strike hit nothing but air, and the Extraordinary across from her became visibly more excited.

He even stopped his advance, as if wanting her to try a few more moves.

The unconscious Xiaotao was brought over. The Extraordinary licked his lips, his eyes like a wolf’s.

Zheng Nanzhu leaned against the icy wall, her eyes both crazed and chillingly calm.

"Boss, hurry up and get on with it!"

"Yeah, Boss, do it quickly!"

"What’s the rush?! When I eat the meat, have I ever not let my brothers drink the soup?"

Zheng Nanzhu’s heart pounded, her vision turning gray. ’I absolutely cannot... cannot let this scum have their way.’

"Who’s there?!"

A sudden shout of alarm came from the top of the city wall.

"White Tiger?"

"Damn it, they’re on the wall!"

General Zhao and three other Extraordinaries vaulted onto the ramparts.

Zheng Nanzhu was in a state of extreme terror and couldn’t hear what they were shouting up above.

Tang Wen glanced down and saw a familiar face. Without a second thought, he used Instant Step to appear behind the Extraordinary.

His long blade plunged deep into the man’s back and emerged from his chest.

It wasn’t that the Extraordinary was too weak, but that Tang Wen was too fast.

"Let’s go!"

The two Martial Artists seemed to grow wind beneath their feet as they fled back into the city.

They were obviously going to get reinforcements.

The stabbed Extraordinary slowly collapsed to the ground.

Tang Wen’s face appeared before Zheng Nanzhu.

Like seeing sunlight pierce through darkness and storm clouds, Miss Zheng the Elder recognized him at once. She grabbed him excitedly. "Save my mother! Save my mother! I’m begging you, Young Master Tang, save my mother! I’ll be your slave, your servant, I’ll do anything!"

"Don’t panic!"

Zheng Nanzhu’s grip was tight, and she repeated those words as if in a hysterical trance. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

Her young body pressed against him, completely unguarded.

In her hasty escape during the night, she was wearing only a sleeping gown.

An astonishing softness pressed against his arm, and even Tang Wen’s heart couldn’t help but stir.

"Alright, I’ll help."

"No! You can’t! They’re Sixth Grade! You should run, just run away!"

She suddenly regretted it, let go of Tang Wen, and charged toward the Inner City alone.

Tang Wen caught up in a single step and chopped the back of her neck with the side of his hand. Zheng Nanzhu fainted.

’Her mind is on the verge of collapse. A little sleep should do her good.’

He arranged for someone to watch over the pair.

Tang Wen stepped into the Inner City.

Bodies were everywhere. The air was filled with heart-wrenching cries and screams.

Suddenly, a giant iron hammer flew straight toward his chest.

It was followed by a javelin, also aimed for his chest.

Even Tang Wen showed a trace of surprise. There had been no sound.

There had been no warning whatsoever before the sneak attack.

’The two top-tier Sixth Grade masters?’

SWOOSH.

He used Instant Teleportation to dodge.

TWANG!

Only then did the vibrating hum of a bowstring reach his ears.

Following the sound, he saw a man holding a longbow, a savage grin on his face.

The great hammer followed like a shadow, faster than the wind.

Tang Wen met the giant’s mocking gaze, scoffed inwardly, and took half a step back. He dropped his shoulder, sank his elbow, and his upper body turned a golden-red as he threw a punch.

A fist against a hammer.

A flash of astonishment crossed the giant’s eyes, immediately replaced by a look one might give a complete idiot.

’A ten-thousand-jin city gate shatters with one blow from this hammer. What makes you think you can block it?’

The shockwave was blasted apart. The hammer flew backward, his arm folding back involuntarily.

Excruciating pain shot through him. In a daze, the giant remembered something from many years ago, when he was just six years old and his drunk father had slapped him so hard he flew into a wall.

He was sent flying backward, crashing through one stone wall after another.

"Damn it!"

The great archer drew his bowstring, firing a three-shot volley.

Tang Wen flicked his wrist and threw the hammer.

The Archer had no more arrows at hand. He drew his bow into a full moon and swung it violently at the flying hammer.

With a sharp crack, the hammer was knocked aside.

However, his expression suddenly changed.

Behind the hammer was a pebble.

An ordinary pebble, the kind you could just pick up from the side of the road...
