Apocalypse: Grinding EXP through Hunting
Chapter 256 - 228: Tang Wen: Not Perversion, but the Legacy of Wei Wu
Chapter 256: Chapter 228: Tang Wen: Not Perversion, but the Legacy of Wei Wu
Using its Invisibility Ability, it had escaped disaster and flown outside the city to recover.
The flock of crows was gone.
Tang Wen was certainly unhappy about losing his eyes and ears.
But as long as the Brown-tailed Crow was unharmed, the flock could be replenished sooner or later.
’Do I have to handle contacting Bai You Ruo and Li Zi myself now?’
’Maybe I should use Liang Yu?’
Tang Wen looked toward the Stone Gate, but ultimately shook his head.
As the Commander of Seven Kills Hall, Liang Yu’s competence shouldn’t be an issue.
It wasn’t that he didn’t trust her.
The main issue was that Li Zi, being from the Thief Sect, had some dealings that couldn’t see the light of day.
The Thief Sect had once been prosperous.
They engaged in petty theft and other shady business.
Liang Yu was a native of Ganshan City, born and raised.
It was hard to say; through some tangled connections, there might be old grudges between them.
Meeting face-to-face would just add unnecessary complications.
’Better to ask around first.’
Tang Wen pulled Liang Yu into the secret chamber. "You wait here. Open the door and go out once every hour, just do something random. I’ll be leaving using Invisibility."
Liang Yu took two seconds to process this. "Understood, Young Master."
’But what does he mean by Invisibility?’
Tang Wen added, "If Senior Sister asks about this, just tell her the truth."
Liang Yu shook her head repeatedly. "This servant will be the only one who knows of this matter."
Tang Wen was pleased with her attitude and reached out to stroke her pretty cheek.
With a SWOOSH, his entire person vanished on the spot.
Liang Yu stood there, dumbfounded.
When the sensation on her cheek also disappeared,
she finally snapped back to her senses. ’The Young Master left?’
’He left using Invisibility?!’
Liang Yu, who was at the Peak of Martial Master, suddenly felt a chill run down her spine and leaned against the Stone Gate.
Half an hour later, Tang Wen and Li Zi met in the Beast Taming Garden.
The latter spoke softly, "The ones watching your old residence are people from your Black Water Gang."
Tang Wen raised an eyebrow.
’That makes sense.’
He was a homebody and rarely went out; the number of times he’d left home could be counted on one hand.
He didn’t have any grudges with people on the outside.
Inside the gang, however, he had come from behind to surpass others, taking quite a few benefits that might have gone to them.
There were plenty of people in the gang who wanted to see him fail.
’But what’s the meaning of targeting my Maid?’
Tang Wen asked the question aloud. A wicked expression appeared on Li Zi’s girlish face. "Your ’big brother.’"
"What?" Tang Wen stared at her.
The Childlike Face Lady pursed her lips and said, "I captured one of them and used a mental Illusion Technique to interrogate him. Right now, the prime suspect is your Black Water Gang’s Eldest Young Master."
"A mental Illusion Technique? You know that too?"
Tang Wen was surprised. He cursed inwardly, ’This woman is dishonest. To think she had such a major hidden Killing Move and didn’t offer it up to me.’
Li Zi quickly waved her hands. "It wasn’t me. You’ve seen it before. It’s that Demon Pig of Elder Li’s from the junkyard."
Seeing Tang Wen looking thoughtful, she added, "I only asked for his help because I didn’t want to alert the enemy. After all, the Martial Artist I caught reports to another Extraordinary."
Tang Wen retorted, "Are you sure it’s *just* an Extraordinary?"
Li Zi was displeased with his tone. "What do you mean, *just* an Extraordinary? We Extraordinaries are the main fighting force of the major powers in Ganshan City."
"Did they say why they were targeting Ah Shui and her mother?"
"They were just told to keep an eye on them and to watch out for any experts protecting the two." Li Zi shrugged and asked curiously, "Where did you find this mother-daughter pair anyway? Their identities might be problematic."
Tang Wen thought so too.
It seemed that when Wu Hao had investigated the mother and daughter’s background, he had only scratched the surface.
But with a little more thought, a doubt surfaced in his mind. ’Back when I rescued Ah Shui and her mother...’
’...they were in such a miserable state they could barely survive.’
’What kind of background could they possibly have...’
’...that would attract the attention of the Eldest Young Master, Zhao Zhe?’
’Could it be that they don’t even know themselves?’
That seemed to be the only possibility.
’It can’t be that Eldest Young Master Zhao Zhe was taken by their looks and just wants to disgust me, right?’
Although he didn’t mind assuming the worst intentions of his opponent, Tang Wen felt that as bad as Zhao Zhe was, he wasn’t an idiot.
Ah Shui and her mother’s looks could only be described as above average.
Toss them into any brothel, and they wouldn’t stand out at all.
And in Ganshan City, the Huang Family’s flesh trade was extremely developed.
Their Slave Factories could cultivate all sorts of women.
With Zhao Zhe’s status, what kind of woman couldn’t he get his hands on?
Even if he wanted to deal with him, he wouldn’t use such a stupid method.
’Besides pissing me off, what damage could this possibly do?’
As the sole Extraordinary of the Thief Sect, Li Zi’s thinking was quite comprehensive. "I’ve looked into Zhao Zhe’s hobbies. He does love beautiful women, but just like any other high-and-mighty big shot. I’ve never heard of him having any strange fetishes. In fact, he once had a valued subordinate who liked married women, caused a mess, and was personally killed by Zhao Zhe."
’A subordinate who liked married women?’
Tang Wen didn’t think much of it.
After all, his Maid wasn’t a married woman.
’Still, daring to have ideas about my Maid... he must have a death wish!’
The beautiful image of "Zhao Zhe’s wife, the young matron Lin Shi," unconsciously appeared in his mind:
"Zhao Zhe’s wife, Lin Shi—have you investigated her background?"
The moment the words left his mouth, Tang Wen regretted it.
Sure enough, upon hearing this, the "elementary schooler" leaned back slightly, looking at Tang Wen as if he were a creepy old man.
Tang Wen decided to just play the part of the creepy old man. He stared at her ’rule-breaking’ parts and shook his head. "I have no idea what you ate to grow up like that."
The "elementary schooler" put her hands on her hips and tilted her head back:
"I’m just naturally gifted! This is natural talent!
Also, why investigate Lin Shi? It’s true what they say: other people’s wives are always the best.
Pervert! You’re so twisted!"
Tang Wen’s expression didn’t change:
"What do you mean, ’married women’ and ’other people’s wives are always the best’?
This is a classical taste. The legacy of Wei Wu!
I’m not a pervert, and certainly not twisted!"
"Who’s Wei Wu?" Li Zi squinted at him.
’So she isn’t very well-read, huh?’
"I’m well-read. Would I lie to you?
In ancient times, raising children was difficult.
A married woman who has already had children has child-rearing experience and is proven to be fertile."
