Chapter 152 - 147: Master Niu Got Beaten Up Again
Chapter 152: Chapter 147: Master Niu Got Beaten Up Again
Mengde moved quickly.
When he had come from the villa district before,
it had taken him over an hour just to get out of the city.
Now, in just half an hour, he could see the large sign for East Sea City’s West City.
The number of survivors grew as he neared West City.
He had seen a fair number of survivors on the way from Yulong Island,
but they had mostly been scattered individuals or small groups.
They were like refugees fleeing for their lives.
Here, however, it was different.
Survivors were clustered together at the city gate.
Tents were visible everywhere.
A quick glance suggested there were at least a thousand people.
Mengde guessed that the only reason these people had managed to escape the city
was because they had been close to the gate.
Otherwise, escape would have been impossible.
Every one of them was dressed in ragged, tattered clothes.
They all stared as his convoy approached.
Inside the RV, Mengde was stroking a woman’s fine hair.
The moving convoy
suddenly ground to a halt.
Mengde’s RV
screeched to a stop as well.
Xiaoyao subconsciously rolled her eyes.
Sister Bai, who was waiting by the side, spoke up.
"Darling, already...?"
Uh...
Mengde was speechless.
"Something must have happened up ahead!"
Mengde had only brought about thirty people with him from the island this time.
They were spread across several vehicles.
The one leading the convoy was, of course, Leng Feng.
Oh, and that dog, Black Emperor.
A sudden stop like this definitely meant there was trouble ahead.
Just as he said that, the walkie-talkie crackled.
"Boss, the city gate is blocked."
"A group of people has us surrounded."
Hearing this, Mengde immediately sent out his Telekinesis Perception.
He had recently discovered a new use for his Telekinesis Perception.
He could survey his surroundings in detail without ever leaving the comfort of his vehicle.
Outside the convoy,
it was just as Leng Feng had said.
A group of sixty or seventy people
was blocking the city gate.
They weren’t very strong, though. Their most powerful member was only a Tier Three Superpower User.
Their weapons were mostly cold arms like knives and clubs.
They weren’t worth recruiting.
So Mengde gave the order.
"Kill them all."
"A crowd this big is just getting in my way."
Leng Feng followed his command.
"Yes, Boss!"
Then came the sound of hurried footsteps.
Mengde knew that leaving a small matter like this to Leng Feng and his men was no problem.
Just a few minutes later, Leng Feng’s voice came over the radio.
"Boss, it’s done."
"Good. Keep moving forward."
Mengde nodded, ordering Leng Feng to proceed.
He hadn’t forgotten the purpose of his trip.
So, while he could have saved the survivors here and taken them back with him,
that would have to wait until after he came back out of the city.
Besides, the most important thing was that this group of survivors at the gate hadn’t even asked for help.
He wasn’t about to go out of his way to offer it.
A moment later, Leng Feng and his men cleared the obstacle blocking their path.
The convoy set off again.
Once inside the city, the number of zombies on the streets was even greater than before.
Even the shops on both sides had been overrun.
What Mengde found strange, however, was that despite the high number of zombies,
there was no sign of them spreading outside the city walls.
’Now that’s interesting,’
Mengde mused.
Just then, Xiaoyao, who had just passed out, woke up with a soft whimper.
She didn’t see Mengde as soon as she opened her eyes.
"Why’d you stop...?"
This girl... she clearly had no idea what had just happened outside.
Mengde chuckled slyly.
"What’s wrong?"
"Does Xiaoyao want more...?"
At his words, the girl immediately lowered her head, blushing.
"Stop teasing me!"
Seeing her reaction,
Mengde didn’t press her any further.
He knew the girl had already made great progress today.
"We’ll stop for now. We can eat more later!"
"We’re already in the city!"
Watching the zombies chasing them from behind, Mengde also stopped the movements in his lap.
Leng Feng and his men were still up ahead, working hard to clear the zombies
and open up a path for the vehicles.
As the boss, he couldn’t just sit back and fool around.
Hearing this, Sister Bai and Sister Yun, who were beside him,
both showed a hint of disappointment.
Clearly, that brief session had left them only half-satisfied.
But they were still sensible enough
not to keep pestering him.
Mengde spread his hands, watching the two women’s reactions as he spoke.
"I have to get out soon. I need to see an old acquaintance."
The acquaintance he mentioned was, of course, the so-called Master Niu who had blocked his path when he was leaving the city before.
Over a month had passed; he wondered if the guy was even still alive.
The place where Master Niu and his group were staying wasn’t far from the city gate.
He would have to pass right by it on his way to the East Sea Art Academy.
Mengde patted the two tempting, shapely rears beside him.
"You two don’t need to get out. Just be good and wait for me in the RV."
With a faint blush on their faces, Sister Bai and the other woman nodded.
They had no objections.
A short while later, Mengde saw the barricade that had been used to stop him before.
Now, however, the barricade was useless.
Numerous zombies had already broken through the defenses
and poured into the street.
The RV charged straight through.
With Leng Feng and his men taking action, the zombies on the street were quickly wiped out.
This astonishing speed left the survivors watching from the first floor of a nearby residential building completely dumbfounded.
’Where did these powerhouses come from?!
They’re so badass!’
Fortunately, not everyone in the group was frozen in shock.
Especially after seeing Mengde’s RV appear.
One person among them reacted immediately.
"Holy shit! It’s that big shot!"
"Quick, go get Master Niu!!!"
The survivor shouted as he ran back into the building.
A moment later, a "master" dressed in a stately kung fu uniform that made him look like an immortal sage came running out, sporting a pair of black eyes.
As soon as he appeared, he dropped to his knees directly in front of Mengde’s RV.
"A humble welcome to you, Boss!"
Mengde took one look, and the corner of his mouth twitched violently.
Well, I’ll be damned.
’That Master Niu... he’s been beaten up again!’
