Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 643 - 633: Preparing to Reveal One’s Identity
"What about the game time? When does the third round start?" Shane Rhodes asked.
"It starts when it starts for all the other players. In other words, we still have a little over ten days until the next round," Moira Lynch said.
This was a huge improvement over the previous three-day intervals. At least now they had plenty of time to prepare.
Just then, Hugh Finch suddenly looked at Moira Lynch. "That being the case, I think it’s time we told the others who you are," he said. "You can’t seriously want to be an unsung hero, can you?"
Moira Lynch gave him a look that said as much.
’Doing good deeds without taking credit? That wasn’t her style. It was just that...’
"What if we fail?" Moira Lynch said frankly. "Then everyone would have gotten their hopes up for nothing."
"That’s why we don’t have to tell *everyone*," Hugh said. "But the people who need to know, should know. After all, if nothing goes wrong, the next round will be our last."
"Besides, Caelus will be restored to its original state after the next round ends. The sooner we let them know, the sooner they can start preparing."
Moira Lynch thought Hugh Finch’s proposal made a lot of sense. "Alright, let’s do it. It’s not like I expected to hide my identity forever, anyway."
At this point, Moira Lynch wasn’t actually opposed to revealing her true identity.
After all, she had only hidden her identity at first because she was weak and happened to possess a priceless treasure. As the old saying goes, ’A man is not guilty, but his treasure makes him so.’ That was why she’d had to conceal herself.
But now, she had grown into her own and possessed more than enough power. Naturally, she was no longer afraid of exposure.
"By the way, have you guys felt anything different since we got out of the game?" Kai York was the one who spoke up this time. "I feel like the energy inside me has expanded tenfold."
Hearing this, Moira Lynch and the others also sensed the energy within their own bodies. Unsurprisingly, they had all broken through to the next level—their talent levels had reached Level Five.
With this kind of power, they would be respected as masters no matter where they went.
"It must be our reward from the Cosmic Consciousness for helping Mark Rhodes fight off the zombie tide and for that Crystal Core."
After Hugh Finch finished his explanation, all three of them—including him—turned to look at Moira Lynch in unison.
Seeing this, Moira Lynch shot a glare back at them. "Alright, alright, I get it! I know the Cosmic Consciousness doesn’t like me. You don’t have to keep rubbing it in."
Now that they had decided to no longer hide her identity, Moira Lynch and the others quickly got to work.
But first, they needed to sort through the things they had brought back from the game.
Moira Lynch handed all the positively mutated plants over to Patience, telling him to transplant them into her pocket dimension, along with the five-color rice and Five-Grain Rice.
In addition to these, Moira Lynch had also brought back a good amount of cigarettes, liquor, and tea from the game.
"I can understand bringing back cigarettes, liquor, and tea. That all makes sense. But what are you planning to do with so many lighters?"
Kai York asked, a speechless look on his face, as he watched Moira Lynch pour a seemingly endless stream of lighters out of her pocket dimension.
At a loss for words, Moira Lynch opened and closed her mouth, not quite sure how to explain.
"I saw them, so I grabbed them. Besides, they don’t take up any space. I just stuffed them in the gaps between the liquor bottles."
Aside from all these miscellaneous items, the most numerous things they brought back were, of course, Crystal Cores.
Especially from that final battle—they had brought back nearly all the Zombie Crystal Cores from the slain zombies.
Once purified, these Crystal Cores could be safely absorbed.
Once everything was sorted, Moira Lynch opened her game interface, navigated to her chat with Redlight—which she hadn’t opened in a long time—and sent him a message.
[SoySauceDrunkard: Interested in some Five-Grain Rice and five-color rice?]
Then, Moira Lynch sent over some pictures and a description of the Five-Grain Rice and five-color rice.
He replied almost instantly.
[Redlight: Yes, yes, yes! I want them!]
[Redlight: Mr. Lynch, you haven’t contacted me in ages! You or your friend. If your shop hadn’t still been open, I would’ve thought something had happened to you.]
[SoySauceDrunkard: Something did happen, actually.]
[Redlight: What was it? Is there anything we can do to help? Just say the word, Mr. Lynch. We’d go through hell and high water for you.]
[SoySauceDrunkard: No need to go through hell and high water. We’ve found a way to restore Caelus to how it was, but it’s not a one-hundred-percent guarantee. Let’s discuss the details in person.]
He didn’t reply immediately after she sent that message, but Moira Lynch didn’t mind.
After all, she knew how explosive that news was. She had to give him some time to process it.
She sent her coordinates and left it at that.
As a homebody, even when facing a matter of such importance, Moira Lynch figured it was more comfortable to stay on her own turf than to go to them. It was better to have them come to her.
On the other end, just as Moira Lynch had predicted, Timothy Murphy was staring at the messages on his screen, unable to react for a long moment.
’What?! A way to restore Caelus to how it was before?!’
’What?! SoySauceDrunkard wants to meet with me in person?!’
Timothy Murphy even wondered if his eyes were playing tricks on him. He raised a hand and rubbed them hard.
Then, when he saw the location SoySauceDrunkard had sent, he was stunned all over again.
’Why does this location look so familiar?’
’Whatever, now’s not the time to get bogged down by that,’ he thought. ’I have to report this immediately. I can’t keep SoySauceDrunkard waiting for too long.’
...
「Meanwhile」
While waiting for a reply from Redlight, Moira Lynch took out the Fragrant Rabbits and the Ragdoll Cat she had caught in the game.
She kept some of the Fragrant Rabbits in her pocket dimension and released the rest to live on the island.
Then there was the Ragdoll Cat.
Kai York knew this was the "wife" Moira Lynch had brought back especially for his Pip, and he thanked her profusely. ’This is great! My son finally doesn’t have to be a simp anymore!’
’Honestly,’ he thought, ’the fact that my son was killing himself helping another cat raise its kittens was a total disgrace for me, his old man. And to top it all off, the little guy just wasn’t playing hard to get.’
"Oh, right, I didn’t think to ask before," Moira Lynch said suddenly. "Pip hasn’t been neutered, has he?"
"Nope. We were originally planning to get him neutered, but we never found the time. We kept putting it off, and then the apocalypse happened."
