Ken knew Sayma was right. The barriers would fail. The explosion would kill everyone in the room. He needed to stop it. He needed to cancel her dramatic exit.

But he had to remain covert. He could not use a flashy spell. He could not summon a giant dragon. He had to fix the problem without anyone noticing his true power.

Ken kept his hands hidden inside his pockets. He focused his mind on the glowing red demon general. He tapped into his god-like, magic. He channeled high-level Gravity magic.

"Gravity Compress," Ken whispered silently in his head.

He aimed his intention directly at the expanding red energy inside Vespera's body.

Vespera let out a final, deafening scream. The massive red explosion began to erupt. The fiery energy shot outward. It reached one inch away from her skin.

Suddenly, the expanding energy stopped.

It did not just stop. It violently reversed direction. The immense, invisible gravity magic pulled the explosive energy inward. It sucked the red light back toward the center of Vespera's chest.

Vespera gasped in shock. Her glowing red eyes widened. "What is happening?! Why is my magic failing?!"

Ken increased the gravitational pressure. He crushed the explosive energy effortlessly. He condensed the massive, building-destroying bomb tighter and tighter. He squeezed the magic until it was small.

The gigantic red blast shrank down . It condensed into a tiny, solid red marble. The marble was the size of a small piece of candy. It possessed zero explosive power.

The tiny red marble dropped from Vespera's chest. It hit the marble floor. Clink. It rolled harmlessly across the polished tiles. It bumped against the leg of a broken chair and stopped moving.

Vespera stood in the center of the room. She was drained. She was confused. Her toxic red glow vanished . She possessed no magical power left. Her grand, suicidal explosion had simply fizzled out into a tiny toy.

She swayed on her feet. Her eyes rolled back in her head. She fell over sideways. She crashed onto the floor, unconscious.

The ballroom went silent.

Sayma lowered her hands. The golden honeycomb barrier dissolved into thin air. She pushed her glasses up. She stared at the unconscious demon general. She looked utterly bewildered.

"The explosion... collapsed?" Sayma wondered politely. She clicked her pen. "That defies all known laws of magical thermodynamics. A core overload cannot simply condense into a solid object. It is a mathematical impossibility."

Naomi lowered her daggers. She let out a massive breath of relief. She smiled a bright, happy smile. "I do not care about the math, Sayma! The bomb is gone! We survived!"

Laxmi cheered loudly. She jumped into the air. "That was the weakest self-destruct ever! She just ran out of gas! She is a total failure!"

Ken sagged his shoulders. He picked up a small piece of cheese from the floor. He dusted it off. He tossed it into his mouth. He smiled a goofy, lazy grin. His secret was safe. He successfully stopped a massive disaster using a tiny, invisible gravity trick.

Suddenly, a bright flash of yellow lightning illuminated the room.

The 1st Prince, Zeus Belmontia, stepped out of the shadows. He wore his pristine white military uniform. He marched directly toward the unconscious demon general. He looked stern and commanding.

Zeus raised his hand. Yellow electricity cracked from his fingers. The lightning shot forward. It wrapped tightly around Vespera's arms and legs. The electricity formed solid, glowing yellow bindings. It tied her securely.

"The threat is secured," Zeus announced coldly. His deep voice echoed across the room. He looked at Princess Iris. He did not smile. He did not offer praise. "I am taking the prisoner into official Imperial custody. She will face severe interrogation. This matter is concluded."

Zeus turned around. His elite guards marched forward. They picked up the bound demon general. They carried her out of the ruined ballroom. Zeus followed them, taking all the official credit for the capture.

Princess Iris watched him leave. She sheathed her silver rapier. She did not argue. She was just glad the innocent people were safe. She turned to her team. She offered a warm, proud smile.

"Excellent work, everyone," Princess Iris praised gently. "You fought bravely. You protected the citizens."

Ken Eliot stretched his arms high above his head. He let out a loud, dramatic yawn. He shuffled over to Naomi. He dragged his shoes on the floor. Scuff. Scuff. Scuff.

"The boss is captured," Ken mumbled lazily. He slid his hands back into his pockets. "The cutscene is over. Now, can we please go find the dessert table? I am officially starving. And I really hope the chocolate cake survived the fight. If the cake is ruined, I am filing a massive complaint."

Naomi laughed a soft, musical laugh. She playfully bumped his shoulder with her arm. "You will get your cake, slacker. I will help you find a very large slice. You earned it today."

Ken smiled happily. The crisis was averted. The party was ruined, but his appetite was intact. The lazy boy was ready to enjoy his hard-earned dessert.

---

The grand ballroom looked like a massive disaster zone. Broken glass covered the polished marble tiles. Splintered wood from smashed tables lay scattered everywhere. The elegant decorations were ruined. The air smelled like burnt magic and spilled wine.

The wealthy nobles whispered nervously. They hurried toward the exit doors. The imperial guards led the arrested politicians away. The chaotic battle was over. The massive crowd slowly dispersed across the ruined hall. They wanted to go home. They wanted to escape the scary crime scene.

Ken Eliot sat on the floor. He leaned his back against a broken marble pillar. He wore his navy blue suit pants. His white dress shirt hung completely untucked over his belt. He did not wear a tie. His black hair stuck up in wild, messy spikes. He held a small white plate in his lap. The plate held a few tiny, squished sandwiches.

He picked up a sandwich. He popped it into his mouth. He chewed it slowly.

"These sandwiches need more mayonnaise," Ken complained quietly to himself. He swallowed his food. He looked at another squished piece of bread. "The catering staff really failed today. A good sandwich requires proper moisture. Dry bread is a massive culinary crime."

Princess Hera Belmontia walked across the ruined ballroom.

The 2nd Princess wore a pristine white silk dress. Golden embroidery lined the edges of her gown. Her auburn hair fell perfectly over her shoulders. She stepped carefully over a piece of broken glass. Her expensive shoes clicked sharply against the floorboards. Click. Click. Click.

She did not look at the escaping nobles. She did not look at the broken chandeliers. She stared directly at Ken.

Hera stopped right in front of him. She crossed her arms over her chest. She glared at his untucked white shirt. She glared at his messy black hair. Her sharp green eyes narrowed into intense slits.

Ken looked up. He blinked his sleepy dark eyes. He held up a tiny sandwich.
