"Naomi is doing a great job," Ken thought happily. He smiled a goofy smile. "She is the best vanguard leader. She told me to stay here. I will perfectly follow her orders. Sitting under a table is my favorite combat strategy."

General Vespera stood in the center of the room. She held her glowing glass flask. She watched the Royal units struggle. She smiled a very cruel, wicked smile.

"You cannot defend forever," Vespera mocked smoothly. Her red eyes burned brightly. "Your stamina will drain. My puppets do not get tired. They do not need to breathe. Hand over your blood. Accept your fate."

Princess Iris gripped her silver rapier tightly. She stood in the middle of her team. Her violet eyes scanned the room. She looked for a weakness. She looked for a way to break the blood magic.

"Do not give up!" Princess Iris commanded firmly. "Keep moving! Protect each other! We will find a way to stop her!"

The 13th Unit formed a tight circle. They stood back-to-back. The mindless, aggressive puppet guards surrounded them . The guards thrust their silver spears repeatedly. The elite girls dodged, parried, and blocked. The sound of clashing metal filled the ballroom.

The situation was chaotic. The Royal units were trapped in a desperate, exhausting defensive struggle. They could not win the fight without hurting innocent guards. They were backed into a corner.

Ken Eliot slouched deeper into the shadows under the table. He chewed another potato chip. He enjoyed the salty flavor. He waited patiently for the next part of the story. He knew someone was going to make a very big, very aggressive move soon. He just hoped they did not step on his toes.

---

The red-eyed guards charged across the marble floor. They held their silver spears tightly. They moved with unnatural speed. General Vespera smiled a cruel smile. She controlled their blood. The guards aimed directly for the Royal candidates.

The 1st Prince stepped forward. Zeus Belmontia did not look scared. He looked annoyed. He wore his pristine white military uniform. Yellow electricity popped around his polished black boots.

He looked at the charging guards. These were Imperial soldiers. They belonged to the royal army. They wore the imperial crest. They were supposed to protect the palace.

Zeus did not care.

He did not view them as victims. He viewed them as broken tools. They were compromised. They stood in his way. That was a fatal mistake.

Zeus raised his right hand. He pointed his palm at the rushing soldiers. His green eyes turned ruthless. He showed Absolute Zero mercy.

"Ionized Storm," Zeus commanded coldly.

A massive, blinding flash of yellow lightning erupted from his hand. The electricity cracked through the air. The sound was deafening. It sounded like a bomb exploding inside the ballroom. The bright light washed out the entire room.

The lightning bolt split into a dozen jagged branches. The electrical branches acted like massive railguns. They shot straight toward the mind-controlled guards.

The yellow lightning struck the guards directly in their chests. The intense voltage bypassed their silver armor . The electrical current surged through their bodies. The guards did not even have time to scream.

The sheer power of the lightning instantly obliterated them. The guards turned into dark gray ash. The ash crumbled onto the polished marble floor. Their silver spears melted into puddles of liquid metal.

Zeus lowered his hand. He did not blink. He slaughtered his own men to neutralize the threat. He did not feel a single ounce of guilt.

Underneath a nearby serving table, Ken Eliot watched the entire scene.

Ken wore his navy blue suit pants. His white dress shirt hung completely untucked over his belt. He did not wear a tie. His black hair stuck up in wild, messy spikes. He sat comfortably on the floor. He held a small plate of cheese cubes.

He popped a piece of cheese into his mouth. He chewed it slowly. He swallowed and let out a long, dramatic sigh.

"This guy is an menace," Ken mumbled casually to himself. He leaned back against a wooden table leg. "He just deleted his own guild members. The friendly fire setting is definitely turned on. He did not even try to use a dispel item. He just spammed his ultimate attack. That is a very toxic way to play a team game."

Naomi crouched right beside the table. She wore her sleek red dress. She held her twin silver daggers. She did not scowl at him. She smiled a very warm, bright smile. Her green eyes sparkled with genuine affection.

"Stay down, Ken," Naomi whispered softly. She playfully bumped his arm with her elbow. "Zeus is out of control. Do not let him see you."

Ken gave her a big, goofy grin. "I am perfectly safe down here, Naomi. I have an excellent supply of cheese. This table provides optimal cover. It is a flawless stealth position."

"Just keep eating your snacks," Naomi chuckled. She turned her attention back to the massive ballroom. She kept a protective stance. She wanted to make sure no stray magic hit her lazy friend.

Princess Iris stood in the center of the 13th Unit. Her violet eyes widened in shock. She stared at the piles of gray ash on the floor. She stared at her older brother.

"Zeus!" Princess Iris called out loudly. Her voice carried a profound sense of horror. "Those were our own guards! They were innocent men! You did not have to kill them!"

Zeus turned his head. His cold green eyes locked onto Iris. "They were enemies, Iris. They raised weapons against me. I eliminated the threat. That is how you win a war. You are too soft."

General Vespera laughed a dark, melodic laugh from the center of the room. She held her glowing glass flask. The red mist swirled inside the glass.

"You are very ruthless, 1st Prince," Vespera mocked smoothly. "But I have plenty of blood to use. I can make as many puppets as I want."

Vespera snapped her pale fingers again. Snap.

A new wave of red magic shot across the room. The magic hit another group of terrified nobles and frightened servants. Their eyes instantly turned a toxic, glowing red. Dark red veins bulged across their faces. The blood magic hijacked their bodies.

Twenty new puppets stood up. They grabbed broken chair legs. They grabbed shattered glass bottles. They roared mindlessly. They charged toward the Royals.

The 2nd Princess, Hera Belmontia, scoffed loudly. She stood near a massive crystal pillar. She wore her flawless white silk dress. Golden embroidery lined the edges of her gown. She looked arrogant.

"Zeus is too noisy," Princess Hera complained. She smoothed a tiny wrinkle on her dress. "He makes a massive mess. He lacks true elegance. I will show him how a proper Royal handles a nuisance."

Hera stepped forward. She did not draw a sword. She simply raised her delicate hand. She pointed her palm at the charging mob of infected nobles.

"Regal Gravity," Hera announced gracefully.
