It was a deadly, invisible attack. Eros wanted to see Ken panic. He wanted to force Ken to use a magical shield or dodge with superhuman speed.

Ken saw the knife flying toward him. He did not flinch. He did not drop his goofy smile. He did not summon his dark aura.

He just casually reached his right hand out. He did not look at the knife. He kept his eyes on Eros. He moved his hand into the path of the flying blade.

He caught the handle of the carving knife perfectly in his palm.

The blade stopped dead in its tracks. It did not touch his suit. It did not cut him. Ken caught the weapon with absolute, effortless precision. It looked like he simply reached out to grab a tool.

Eros froze. His green eyes widened in genuine shock. He stared at the knife in Ken's hand.

Ken looked at the carving knife. He acted oblivious to the magical attack.

"Wow, this table is very slippery," Ken noted lazily. He tossed the sharp knife back onto the buffet table with a loud clatter. "The silverware is just sliding right off the edge. You should be careful, kid. A falling knife could poke your eye out. Safety first."

Eros stared at the boy. His brilliant, calculating mind raced at blinding speed.

The young Prince knew the table was not slippery. He knew he used a powerful magnetic force. A normal servant would never catch a flying blade without looking. A normal servant would have been stabbed.

Ken Eliot had neutralized a magical assassination attempt while complaining about slippery tables.

"He is aware," Eros realized silently. A cold chill ran down his spine. "He felt the magnetic pull. He tracked the blade perfectly. He caught it effortlessly, and he disguised his reaction as a total accident. He is mocking me."

Eros realized Ken was not just a smart servant. Ken was a massive, unpredictable wildcard. Ken was a player who refused to follow the rules of the board.

The young Prince quickly changed his demeanor. A group of wealthy nobles walked past their section of the buffet table. The nobles wore bright silk clothes. They chatted loudly about the weather.

Eros instantly dropped his cold, calculating stare. The sinister aura vanished . The innocent, sweet, cherub-like child returned in a single second.

Eros looked up at the passing nobles. He smiled a bright, adorable smile. He waved a tiny hand at them. The nobles smiled back and cooed at the cute Prince.

Ken watched the flawless transition. He sagged his shoulders even further.

"His acting skills are top-tier," Ken thought casually. "He switches personalities instantly. He is definitely going to be a major problem for the other Royal candidates. But he is too small to carry heavy grocery bags. I am not impressed."

The nobles walked away. The area grew quiet again.

Eros looked back at Ken. The innocent smile remained on his face, but his green eyes were sharp and wary.

"You are a very interesting person, Ken Eliot," Eros whispered softly. His sweet voice carried a subtle, dangerous edge. "I look forward to seeing how your unit performs in the future. I think we are going to play a very fun game together."

"I hate games," Ken replied lazily. He popped another piece of shrimp into his mouth. "Games require rules. Rules are very exhausting. I prefer taking naps."

Eros offered a polite, fake bow. "Enjoy your food, mister. Do not choke on your snacks. Small things can be very dangerous."

"I will chew very carefully," Ken promised with a goofy grin.

The 21st Prince turned around. He walked away from the buffet table. He blended seamlessly into the massive crowd of wealthy aristocrats. He looked like a harmless, sweet child wandering through the gala.

Ken watched him disappear into the crowd. He slid his hands deep into his pockets. He let out a loud, dramatic yawn.

"Well, that was a very weird conversation," Ken mumbled to himself. He looked back at the chocolate cake. "Kids these days are way too intense. They need to spend more time playing in the dirt. Now, I am officially claiming that corner piece of cake. I earned it."

Ken reached for the cake slicer. He was unfazed by the sinister encounter. He knew the young Prince was a master manipulator. He knew Eros was hiding his true power. But Ken did not care. As long as the kid did not steal his dessert, Ken was perfectly happy to let the other Royals deal with the devious little mastermind. The silent chess match was a draw, and Ken was ready for his sugar rush.

---

Ken Eliot stood in front of a massive buffet table. The table stretched across the entire back wall of the grand ballroom. It was covered in a pristine white cloth. Tall silver platters held an endless supply of expensive food. There were piles of roasted meats. There were colorful fruit arrangements. There was a giant chocolate fountain right in the center.

Ken held a small, delicate porcelain plate. He slouched his shoulders as far as they could possibly go. He wore his tailored navy blue suit. His white dress shirt hung completely untucked over his belt. He did not wear a tie. His black hair stuck up in wild, messy spikes.

He stared at the food. He looked a little annoyed.

"Rich people are very confusing," Ken mumbled lazily to himself. He used a small pair of silver tongs to pick up a tiny, triangular sandwich. "Why do they make the food so small? I have to eat fifty of these just to feel full. It is a massive waste of calories. I spend more energy picking up the food than I get from eating it."

He tossed the tiny sandwich into his mouth. He chewed it slowly. It tasted like expensive cheese and fancy ham. He grabbed another one.

Naomi walked over to him. She wore a sleek, beautiful red dress. Her bright red hair was tied back in a neat ponytail. She did not yell at him. She did not scowl. She smiled a very warm, bright smile. She stopped right next to him.

"You are going to drop crumbs on your suit, Ken," Naomi teased softly. She reached out and gently smoothed the collar of his jacket. "We are at a grand Gala. Try not to look like you just rolled out of bed."

Ken gave her a big, goofy grin. He popped another tiny sandwich into his mouth.

"My bed is very far away, Naomi," Ken replied casually. He shoved his free hand into his pocket. "I miss it very much. This party is boring. I am just trying to survive until they serve the real desserts. Small sandwiches are just a warm-up exercise for my stomach."

Naomi chuckled quietly. She bumped her shoulder playfully against his arm. "Just eat your snacks. Stay out of trouble. Princess Iris is talking to some very important politicians."
