Chapter 1698: Setting a New Record Once More

Night Cell Tower

The humanoid creature continued looking towards the human. This time, the creature talked.

"Human, you are stronger than other warriors," the humanoid creature said.

Hearing that, I smiled and said, "You are different from other elite creatures."

"Don’t compare me with those weaklings," the elite creature replied.

Hearing that, my mouth curved into an arc. Three types of inheritance forces continued to circulate inside my body.

My gaze never left the body of the humanoid. I had a feeling that this fight might go until the end.

Boom!

The humanoid creature bolted from its place. It charged at the human to attack. The creature moved fast. In the blink of an eye, it appeared before the human.

Smash!

It punched forward to attack. Its fist carried a surge of dark origin power. When the fist’s attack was about to land on me, I counterattacked with a similar punch.

Pfff!

My punch squarely landed on its fist. The three types of inheritance force collided with the dark origin power again. The three inheritance forces suppressed the dark origin power.

Once again, the three types of force destroyed the arm of the creature. The creature rolled backwards before falling to the ground.

Thud!

A small shockwave spread outward.

When a gap in the distance appeared, I saw the creature stand up on its feet again. It used a surge of dark origin power to heal itself.

Seeing that the creature had recovered again, my confusion cleared.

Boom!

The humanoid creature had a self-healing ability.

As time went by, we started exchanging fist attacks. One after another, the fist strikes caused harm to the hands of the foreign creature, but the creature used its self-healing ability to heal itself.

Instead of getting worried, I felt challenged. So, I continued using the three inheritance powers to fight against the creature.

Boom!

The humanoid creature was enraged. It wanted to kill the human, but it couldn’t do it. The inheritance powers on the human’s side continued to damage the dark origin power.

The dark origin power was not endless. It will run dry soon. So, the humanoid creature wanted to kill the human before the dark origin power ran out.

As time went by, the fight continued. Then, I began to use my bloodline power as a fourth inheritance power. When the fourth inheritance power was added to the attacks..

Boom!

The humanoid creature flew backwards before collapsing onto the ground. This time, it took longer for the creature’s hand to heal. It was not healing as fast; the dark origin power was going to end soon.

The humanoid creature finally started getting terrified. It had underestimated the human warrior before it.

The humanoid creature itself was one of the top three powerhouses among the elite creatures. Yet, it could not handle a single Red Mark Warrior. If the news were to spread across the dark planet, it would be humiliating.

Time went by.

It didn’t take long for the dark origin power to run dry. A crack started appearing on the humanoid creature’s body.

Boom!

The humanoid creature received a backlash. All its hidden injuries erupted at the same time. The humanoid creature was blasted away; its body parts broke and fell to the ground.

The humanoid creature died on the spot. With that, I completed the second challenge and defeated the 9th opponent. I was not interested in continuing further.

[You have completed the challenge. Do you want to continue?]

A mechanical voice sounded.

"No," I replied.

Hearing that, the exit door appeared. I walked up to the door. After reaching it, I used the knob to open it. Then, I returned to the first room and reached the main gate.

The main black gate at the entrance was open.

Creak!

I exited through the main gate. When I stepped outside, I saw no one around. I checked the time and found out that it was nighttime.

I took a deep breath before controlling the inheritance force. All four circulating inheritance forces returned to my dantian. I controlled my strength and the dense crimson aura surrounding my body.

When the crimson aura lessened, I looked like any other Red Mark Warrior.

Then, I started heading back to the residence.

"You have received secret information from other warriors. Don’t try to discuss it with others. There is a possibility for the Quasi-Gods to hear it," the ancient spirit said.

Hearing that, my heart skipped a beat.

"I’m not going to tell others," I replied.

After coming out of the training camp, I waited for a cab to arrive. When the first one appeared, I immediately stopped it and hopped inside.

I gave my destination to the driver. The driver then started the cab, and we departed. As we headed towards the destination, I sat in the back seat, watching the passing views.

Twenty minutes later,

The cab reached the destination and came to a halt. I stepped outside and paid the fare to the driver.

Once the cab left, I headed towards my residence. After reaching my room, I opened the door and went inside. I had fought for a long time. It was time to rest.

First, I went to the bathroom to take a shower. The shower lasted for twenty minutes. After coming out, I put on comfortable clothes. Then, I went to bed to sleep.

Meanwhile,

The administration office received the news. They learned that Zack Lockwood had completed the challenge and cleared the Night Cell Tower. He had defeated his 9th opponent.

It was another record. The administration staff then informed the council elders.

In the council hall, the council elders learned the news. Council Elder Freya took time to digest the information. She was shocked. It was another new record set by Zack Lockwood.

Some time ago, the council elders had received orders from the Quasi-Gods, including Quasi-God Jane. They were given orders to watch over Zack Lockwood.

They also supported the idea of letting Zack Lockwood fight in the special battlefield.

The Quasi-Gods also didn’t want Zack Lockwood to appear on the main battlefield. When the council elders heard the news, they heaved a sigh of relief. They felt that the Quasi-Gods had heard their concerns.

But they didn’t know that the Quasi-Gods were just as worried as they were.

They didn’t want the news of Zack Lockwood to reach other Quasi-Gods. In a way, they were protecting Zack Lockwood.
