Chapter 1642: The City Welcomes New Blood

As time passed, more and more puppets appeared. I used the length of the staff to my advantage to land early strikes!

The continuous strikes caused more dents to appear on the puppets. They lost their mobility quickly. Not only that, but I was also making improvements.

Right when the 160th puppet was defeated, the mechanical voice declared me the winner. Once again, I had spent a few hours on this training.

When the gate opened, I walked out. I had the same appearance as after the previous session. There were bruises on my body because I had traded punches with them.

I collected my thoughts and made my way towards the exit. Just then, I saw something new. There were warriors going about their business.

They were there in considerable numbers. It reminded me of my first day at the training hall. On that day, there were many members in the training hall.

Looking at the similar situation today, I paused and observed everything. Then I overheard the conversation of a few people.

A look of understanding dawned on me. These people were new recruits from the Tier-5 region. Suddenly, a few people who were also looking at me had a realization.

The warriors started talking one after another. When I heard their words, I knew it was time to leave. So, I started walking towards the exit.

None of them blocked the path; they cleared the way. They knew about Zack Lockwood even in the Tier-5 region.

They were even more afraid after hearing about his terrifying reputation here.

A few minutes later,

I exited the camp and reached the street. I stopped one of the cabs and hopped inside. I gave the address to the driver, and he started taking me to the destination.

It didn’t take long for me to notice that something was wrong with the driver. I saw his face, and he seemed to recognize me.

His face showed that he was controlling his anger. The anger really showed on his face. Seeing that, I felt bad. The driver was up to something.

"You are the reason for my friends’ deaths. I want you to die along with them!" After saying that, the driver tried to explode his dantian.

He was being suicidal at that moment.

Just as he uttered those words, my hands snapped out and struck the back of his head. The driver lost consciousness on the spot.

Not only that, but the cab lost control and began to nosedive from midair. Seeing that, I exited the car and used my flight ability to hold the cab.

Then I slowly brought the cab to the ground.

I couldn’t leave just like that. I took out my device and called Senior Marie. She answered the call right away. Then I briefed her on the situation.

Marie was shocked as well. She told him that she would send someone from the medical centre to the spot, and that he could leave right after that.

She didn’t expect such an incident to happen to Zack Lockwood. She knew the survivors had some resentment towards Zack Lockwood, but it was totally unreasonable.

Their matchup was unfair to begin with. The enemy side had broken the rules by sending Elite Creatures to the Non-Elite Creatures’ battlefield.

So it was not Zack Lockwood’s fault. Even she had felt some unreasonable hatred earlier, but she had cleared all her doubts later. She knew the potential of Zack Lockwood.

If Zack Lockwood became a Quasi-God, it would be a nightmare for the foreign creatures. So she could understand why they were breaking the rules.

I waited for the person from the medical centre to arrive. It didn’t take long for an ambulance to arrive at the spot. It quickly stopped in front of the cab.

The staff exited the ambulance. They looked at me before taking the unconscious driver into the vehicle.

Hearing that, I didn’t say anything. One of the male staff members entered the cab to drive it.

The ambulance and the cab left the scene. Then I thought of stopping another cab. I shook my head. I used my flight ability to go back to the residence.

20 minutes later,

I came back to the flat. After reaching my room, I entered the essence chamber first. I spent some time circulating the healing force to heal both the hidden and superficial injuries.

One hour later,

I walked out and went to the bathroom to take a shower. The shower lasted for 20 minutes. After coming out, I put on some comfortable clothes.

Then I came to the sofa to sit down. Next, I turned on the big screen to watch the news. The news played; the anchor was giving the daily reports.

The news of the foreign creatures breaking the rules had angered the Quasi-Gods. They had been taking action against the foreign creatures for the past couple of days.

That was why no new battles had taken place here. It had also given time to the elders to recruit fresh blood for United City.

Seeing that, I felt no wonder at encountering the sudden influx of people in the training camp. I just hoped that the new battle would be normal, and that there wouldn’t be any elite creatures.

Just then, my device buzzed. I picked up the device and read it. The administration office was going to send the selected treasures today. I sent a reply back saying okay.
