Chapter 739: Chapter 739 – Honeymoon II

The luxurious room glowed with soft blue light that seemed to pulse with the rhythm of the sea.

There were no ordinary windows. Instead, the walls themselves were enormous panes of glass, and beyond them stretched an endless underwater world of turquoise water, drifting seaweed, and schools of colorful fish gliding past in perfect silence.

Seraphine stared in pure stunned amazement, heart hammering against her ribs. She rubbed her eyes hard, certain she had to be dreaming. She looked around desperately for Voren but the room was empty.

Maybe it really was a dream. She pinched a small fold of skin between two fingers and yelped out loud, the sharp sting flooding her with relief. "Ouch!"

"Are you alright?" Voren’s deep voice came from behind her, thick with concern.

The mate bond still pulsed strong and steady between them even here in the human world, a warm living thread that wrapped around her heart. A deep shaky sigh of relief left her. Feeling each other’s emotions at every moment was a gift she never wanted to lose.

Seraphine turned and met Voren’s intense gaze. He set a tray of food on the nightstand, the rich aroma making her stomach tighten with sudden hunger while her pulse raced at the sight of him. "Is this real? I just pinched myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. Where are we?"

It felt like she was floating underwater yet the room itself stayed completely dry, the ocean pressing gently against every wall like a living embrace.

Voren’s smile turned dark and full of raw desire. "It’s real. I promised you a real honeymoon and this is only the beginning. We’re in an underwater suite." His voice stayed low but carried every fierce emotion he usually kept locked away, love and longing pouring through the bond so strongly her eyes stung.

He shrugged off his bathrobe without hurry. The heavy fabric slid from his shoulders and revealed the hard planes of his sculpted chest. He stood there in nothing but thin black boxers, six pack etched in sharp relief, every muscle catching the soft blue light.

The sight tangled her thoughts instantly and sent heat rushing low in her belly. If he was doing it on purpose it was working perfectly, leaving her breathless and aching.

"This is one of the places I had in mind from the start. I made all the arrangements but pack business kept forcing me to push the date back."

He lifted the tray and settled beside her on the bed, both of them watching the fish drift past the glass. He speared a tender piece of seafood and held it to her lips. She opened for him and took it slowly, the intimate act sending a soft shiver through her.

"This is so good," Seraphine moaned, eyes never leaving the hard lines of his body. Ever since she had confessed how much she loved looking at him, Voren made sure to give her more of that view whenever they were alone.

Their honeymoon was the perfect excuse to bare even more of himself, and the quiet intensity in his gaze made her feel cherished and wanted beyond words.

He smiled as he fed her a slice of crisp apple, then pointed toward the glass with quiet wonder. "Look at that." A bright goldfish flicked its tail in a playful swirl. Seraphine giggled, the sound light and free, her heart swelling with pure joy.

Fish of every color and size swam past. Suddenly two women in sleek swimsuits appeared out of the blue water and began to dance among the fish.

Their movements were fluid and perfectly timed as if they had rehearsed with the sea itself. Seraphine watched without blinking, afraid to miss a single graceful turn, emotion rising thick in her throat.

When the dance ended the women held up a large placard with bold white letters. ’Sera, Voren loves you.’

Tears welled in Seraphine’s eyes so fast she could barely see. She tore her gaze from the living ocean and looked at Voren just as he spoke, voice rough with feeling that poured straight into her soul.

"Sera, I love you. I promise to love you in this life and the next. No matter what the world throws at us I will always love you. Even if you grow old and your body changes in every way, even if you were maimed, I would still love you the same. You are everything to me."

She threw her arms around him and held on tight, burying her face against his bare chest as tears slipped free.

Like every woman she had already noticed the small new curve of her stomach and spent quiet moments wondering how she would look as it grew. She had wondered more than once if Voren would still desire her the same way. His words erased every doubt and filled her with a love so fierce it hurt.

"I love you so much, V. I promise nothing will ever change that. Not a spell, not another memory loss, nothing. You are my whole heart."

Voren claimed her mouth in a deep passionate kiss that left her breathless and trembling, his hands cradling her face as if she were the most precious thing he had ever held.

"Let’s not talk about memory loss. The pain of thinking I had lost you was more than I could stand. It nearly destroyed me."

Sorrow flickered across his face for a moment, but Seraphine soothed it with soft fingers along his jaw, pouring every ounce of love she felt.

"Honestly if I had known a part of my memory was locked away, I would have done anything to get it back. Not knowing was what made everything so hard. I never want to feel that distance between us again."

Voren nodded, eyes shining. "Then we catch up on everything we lost. And I still have a surprise planned for dinner that I hope will make you feel how deeply I love you." He pulled back just enough to feed her another bite of seafood, eyes never leaving hers, the simple act charged with intimacy and devotion.

Seraphine suddenly laughed through her tears. Voren frowned, the corner of his mouth lifting. "What’s so funny?"

She pressed her lips together and studied him, heart overflowing. "I was just wondering what would have happened if you were the one who lost your memory."

Voren chuckled, the sound low and warm and full of quiet certainty, and the answer he gave brought fresh tears to her eyes.
