Chapter 715: Chapter 715 – Voren’s fierce Love

"I honestly tried to send Voren to the love wolf because he loved her designs," the Moon Goddess continued, her voice carrying across the quiet gathering. "But strangely, a human stood between them, the love wolf’s assistant, and they never met until it was too late. When the soul tie took effect, his heart turned cold toward the love wolf."

Corvine’s breath locked in his throat. "You mean Liah was Voren’s destined mate? Is that the reason the bond still refuses to break?"

The words brought discomfort to his chest, as he never expected this kind of emotional entanglement but Liah’s warm hand on his, was enough to calm him.

The Moon Goddess’s expression softened into something almost maternal, yet the weight of centuries still rested in her eyes. "If there had been a true mate bond, then yes, that would have been it. Without the mate bond, she was still meant to be his wife, the one who would calm his beast while his beast strengthened her wolf in return."

Her ancient gaze drifted to Voren, sharp and piercing, leaving him nowhere to hide. "Voren, you saw Seraphine countless times during her marriage to Ravyn, yet your wolf never responded to her until after the incident at the Sovereign Circle. Did you ever ask yourself why?"

Voren nodded, his jaw tight enough to ache. "I did, but I never found the answer. Later the shaman told us about the soul tie when she removed the spell on Sera’s memories. I still had no idea why it happened."

"You do now," the Moon Goddess replied. A flicker of admiration crossed her face before her expression hardened again, the softness fading into something cold and unyielding that made the air itself feel heavier.

"But even that was not enough to keep the two of you together, and I refused to let Seraphine suffer any longer. So I pushed for your marriage and for her pregnancy. What no one seems to understand is that although there are destined couples, only a few ever manage to fulfill their true destiny, and the cost of failure is always paid in pain."

She looked at him directly, her voice quiet yet relentless. You also wanted the mate bond restored only after she divorced Ravyn because you were still hoping she would turn out to be your destined mate.

Voren did not deny it. "That is true."

There was no shame in his voice, only a fierce and steady certainty. In truth he felt deep gratitude to Elodie for standing as a barrier between him and Liah, because he already knew with absolute clarity that he could never have let Seraphine go.

The very thought of losing her was impossible, unthinkable. She was his breath, his heartbeat, the blood in his veins, the only light he refused to live without.

"And when the two of you found your way back to each other and even removed the spell," the Moon Goddess continued, "you still did not stop the Blood Moon Festival from happening. You wanted more."

Voren met her gaze without flinching, every word rising from the deepest part of him.

"I want to feel everything the mate bond can give. I have read about it, and I desire it with everything I am. I want to know how my wife feels at every moment without having to ask. I want to sense her emotional needs before she even speaks them."

"I want to feel her pain and her joy as if they were my own. I want to know every small thing that makes her happy and do all of them for her without being told, because her happiness has become the only measure of my own."

The raw honesty in his voice stunned Seraphine. Tears welled hot and silent in her eyes and slipped down her cheeks as she listened to the depth of his love laid bare in front of everyone.

Her heart felt too full, almost aching with the force of it, and her wolf pressed close beneath her skin, fiercely protective and utterly claimed.

What Voren did not yet understand was how thoroughly that love had disrupted the Moon Goddess’s carefully laid plans, tearing through centuries of careful design with nothing but the stubborn strength of a single heart.

A heavy silence stretched for several long heartbeats before the goddess spoke again, her tone carrying a weight that pressed down on every person present like the sky itself had lowered.

"You made me look foolish, Voren. You challenged my plan and proved I was wrong to force what I wanted. So do not blame me for making things harder for you afterward. The white wolf was never meant to be yours, yet you proved that love can be stronger than the mate bond itself. However, the problem of the Lycans will not simply disappear, and the consequences of that truth will still reach us all."

Voren frowned, the first real unease flickering across his face, but Seraphine spoke before he could. Her voice stayed steady even though a storm of emotion churned violently inside her chest, love and fear and fierce determination tangled so tightly she could barely breathe. "Why not? You said you created them. There has to be some kind of weakness we can use."

Yes, they are my creation, the Moon Goddess answered, and for the first time a note of ancient sorrow threaded through her words. I love them just as I love the werewolf race. Even though they have rebelled countless times, I am still searching for ways to bring them back to their destined purpose. My plan was to use you and Ravyn for that, and now that path has been broken."

Seraphine felt no regret that those plans had been ruined. The only thing that mattered was the man whose arms still held her as if she were the most precious thing in the world.

Yet one question still haunted her. "Why can I not fulfill that same purpose with Voren? Was that the reason my wolf kept tapping into Ravyn’s power even when my heart already belonged to someone else?"
