All My Professions Have Divine-Level Talents
Chapter 613 - 372: The Troublemaker
Chapter 613: Chapter 372: The Troublemaker
My original reason for coming to Moonfall Island was simply to run a few more Tier Seven Dungeons and see if I could find any Demon materials useful for crafting equipment.
Lu Luwei would probably remain asleep for another day.
So, Lu Cang went directly to the center of the island.
Moonfall Island wasn’t a particularly large island, but the Demons on it were more numerous and much stronger than those on most other islands in the Moon Sea.
As for the specific reason...
Quite a few scholars had tried to study it, but in the end, they could only attribute it to normal climate-related factors.
The Demon tides simply liked to gather here.
’Hm... this spot should do.’
The surroundings were barren, a desolate wilderness.
Here, Lu Cang drew the Ritual, and as he poured his soul into it, a surging Demon tide began to converge on the island’s center.
RUMBLE—
Black mist churned, causing quite a phenomenon.
Through his Perception, he could faintly see streaks of light gathering in the distance and heading his way. Judging from their auras, they were likely Level 5 or Level 6 Reincarnators.
Moonfall Island was mostly populated by Middle and High Level Reincarnators.
Low Level Adventurer’s Guilds had no reason to explore Moonfall Island. The lands they came from already had more than enough Tier Three and Tier Four Dungeons for them.
So, those who came to Moonfall Island were generally...
...either mere passersby on their way to the next island.
Or they were Adventurers of at least Level 4.
Lu Cang ignored the people who had appeared in his Perception and simply continued gathering his Demon tide.
SWOOSH!
Immediately after, Lu Cang released the Source of Calamity, which began to dance in the air.
The gathered Demon tide gradually began to coalesce.
"The Source of Calamity?"
A cry of alarm came through his Perception.
Someone had seen the Source of Calamity.
"Isn’t that the ancient taboo creature that brings disaster!"
WHOOSH—
Suddenly, dozens of pillars of lightning crashed down from the sky!
KABOOM—
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The surging pillars of lightning blasted the mountaintops to pieces and barreled toward the "Source of Calamity" like a plow tilling the earth!
’They attacked without a second thought.’
Lu Cang casually raised a hand.
BOOM—
The raging thunderbolts in mid-air instantly shattered.
Previously, he had never revealed the Source of Calamity in front of others. When gathering a Demon tide, he would lay down multiple Restrictions and proceed with extreme caution.
It was all because he worried the Source of Calamity would be accidentally killed.
But now...
Lu Cang had some confidence in his own strength.
He was also confident he could block most attacks, so at the very least, the Source of Calamity wouldn’t be instantly destroyed.
"Why are you protecting that calamitous thing!"
Lu Cang looked up at a Mage floating in mid-air, his teeth clenched in rage.
Behind him, the Source of Calamity continued to dance.
Lu Cang rose into the air and met the Mage’s gaze, his tone filled with confusion.
"You hate it that much?"
"My hometown was destroyed by one of these bizarre creatures."
’Oh.’
’No wonder he recognized the Source of Calamity at first glance. He must have done his homework.’
"Sorry, but this one definitely isn’t the one that destroyed your hometown."
"This is just my... Contracted Beast."
Lu Cang explained.
After coming to the Moon Sea, he had learned that the Profession of Beast Tamer existed, allowing one to form contracts with creatures and fight alongside them.
"A Contracted Beast?"
"You’re treating a Source of Calamity as a Contracted Beast?"
Lu Cang sighed softly. "As a Contractor, it’s perfectly normal for me to make anything my Contracted Beast, isn’t it?"
"Are you trying to bring disaster upon the world too?" the Mage asked angrily.
Lu Cang replied calmly, "No, I’ve never done anything atrocious."
"I’m just doing what I’m supposed to be doing, as is my right."
"If you’re going to lecture me about your principles, I’m not interested in listening."
Though Lu Cang’s tone was mild, it carried an attitude that permitted no refusal.
’I could have just avoided them.’
However, after receiving the legacy of the Deep Land, Lu Cang also wanted to cultivate a sense of confidence that no one could match.
’If I believe that I am invincible, that no one can defeat me...’
’...then that Illusion will affect reality. Coupled with my own "Unyielding Heart" Battle Intent...’
’...this effect should be further amplified.’
The man glanced at the Source of Calamity, then at the Ritual below Lu Cang.
"What a wicked Ritual."
"So you’re the one who gathered the Demon tide here."
"And that’s Death Magic."
"Heh... This is the first time I’ve ever seen an existence as evil as you."
He stretched out his right hand, and a Magic Staff wreathed in lightning appeared in his grasp.
In the distance, quite a few onlookers were floating in the air.
"Is that...?"
"I think it’s... the righteous Thunder Envoy."
"I heard he despises evil and has sworn to eradicate all of it from this world..."
"Apparently, he’s participated in many campaigns against the Death Church and earned the honorary title of Honored Guest Elder from the Life Church."
"I heard his hometown was destroyed by a disaster caused by a Source of Calamity when he was a kid, meow."
Lu Cang’s Perception also picked up the discussion among the surrounding crowd.
’That silver-haired Cat Girl, why is she here again?’
’Her name is Xiumi, right?’
’It feels like she’s in the crowd of bystanders every time.’
Lu Cang was unfazed by the pressure the man exuded. Instead, he said, "I have no quarrel with you. If you insist on attacking me, I’ll have no choice but to defend myself."
BOOM—
The response Lu Cang received wasn’t a voice or a thought.
It was a thunderbolt from the sky.
THUNK—
But in the next moment, the flash of lightning that had lit up the sky suddenly exploded and completely dissipated.
The man stared down at his own chest in disbelief.
Lu Cang’s War Spear had already pierced through his body.
"I sensed that you wanted to kill me."
"If you wanted to kill me, then you should have been prepared to be killed."
Killing the man before him stirred no particular feeling within him.
It was like crushing an ant.
He was simply too weak compared to Lu Cang.
Lu Cang pulled out his War Spear. The mortally wounded Mage desperately clutched his chest, but he wasn’t Lu Cang; he didn’t possess such powerful healing or Recovery Ability.
And none of the Healing Mages in the area stepped forward to save him.
The potions he had on him were useless against such a severe wound.
His vision blurred, and he began to fall toward the earth...
Lu Cang just casually flicked the blood from his War Spear, returned it to his Storage Bag, and didn’t spare the man another glance.
This scene was reflected in the eyes of every single onlooker.
The Source of Calamity continued its dance in the sky.
But this time, even after a long wait, not a single person came forward to cause trouble for Lu Cang.
Some people even backed away a few steps in mid-air before turning to flee.
Soon, the crowd that had gathered had somehow thinned out considerably...
Before long, the Tier Seven Dungeon had taken form on the site.
Lu Cang put away the Source of Calamity as if no one else was there.
Then he calmly walked into the Tier Seven Dungeon alone.
