Chapter 432: Chapter 217: Thunder God Golem, a Declaration of Glory and Power
VMMMM!
Wisps of elemental energy flowed along the veins and into the golem’s body.
Under the influence of a mysterious power, the golem’s body began to change. A vitality, completely different from that of a flesh-and-blood lifeform, was injected into its shell.
This was power from the Elemental Plane.
The initial inspiration for creating Golem Puppets came from the forms of elemental life.
Pei Ze took a step back and waited patiently to the side.
The entire process lasted about five minutes.
The golden patterns soon faded and disappeared.
The golem on the workbench suddenly trembled. Then, its massive, sturdy body sat up, and its heavy frame landed on the floor with a dull thud.
In an instant, it was as if a prehistoric beast had awakened, and the surrounding air immediately grew turbulent.
"Master."
The golem spoke in a deep voice.
A hint of a smile flashed in Pei Ze’s eyes as his gaze swept over the behemoth before him.
The new golem’s surface was covered in dense lightning-like patterns. Even standing still, it exuded a feeling of majestic, fierce power.
"Since the inspiration came from the transformation of a Prayerer, I’ll call it the Thunder God Golem."
Pei Ze muttered to himself, not thinking the name was arrogant at all.
Perhaps one day in the future, the Thunder God Golem might even be strengthened to a level comparable to a Divine Spirit.
The golem did not, and could not, answer.
They had no thoughts of their own. The Soul Core within them was merely equivalent to an artificial intelligence, capable of executing relatively simple commands but unable to adapt as flexibly as a human.
Only constructs on the level of a Magic Power Armor or a Tower Spirit Commander could possibly possess self-awareness.
"Go wait to the side," Pei Ze commanded.
"Yes, Master."
The Thunder God Golem obediently walked to a corner and stood still. With a slight shudder, it became as motionless as a statue, entering a dormant state.
In this state, the golem’s energy consumption would drop to less than 1% of its normal level.
Pei Ze nodded in satisfaction and issued a new command.
"Charge."
The golden patterns lit up again, spreading to the Thunder God Golem’s feet as torrents of elemental energy surged rapidly into its body.
A fully charged Thunder God Golem had enough energy for at least two hours of high-intensity combat.
Off to a good start, Pei Ze was in high spirits. He pressed on, continuing to create the second golem.
By the time the tenth Thunder God Golem was complete, it was already the next day.
Pei Ze stretched, a delighted smile spreading across his face as he looked at the row of Thunder God Golems before him.
"Tower Spirit 1, once the Thunder God Golems are fully charged, send them to the combat standby area."
"Yes, Master."
Pei Ze’s figure vanished in an instant. He reappeared on the Stargazing Platform and gazed into the distance.
From this position, the silhouette of Chenxi City was faintly visible.
"Depart. Destination: Chenxi City."
As Pei Ze’s words fell, the Wizard Tower immediately began to tremble gently.
With a tremendous RUMBLE, the base of the Wizard Tower slowly detached from the ground. Debris rained down as an invisible shockwave spread out, kicking up a sky-full of dust and smoke.
The colossal tower, roughly one hundred fifty meters tall and covering over two thousand square meters, slowly levitated into the air. Before long, it reached an altitude of a thousand meters, paused for a moment, and then sped off toward Chenxi City.
Watching the scenery rapidly recede below, Pei Ze’s mood grew even more cheerful.
The Wizard Tower was actually capable of a spatial jump that could have taken it to Chenxi City in an instant, but that would consume too much energy. The Element Pool was not yet completely full, and Pei Ze didn’t want to waste power.
’Besides, flying there like this is quite nice, too.’
Pei Ze had already notified the Dawn Council of his Wizard Tower’s approach.
Therefore, when he arrived at Chenxi City, he encountered no resistance. It was as if he had passed through an invisible membrane and entered the city’s airspace.
The immense, towering structure sped past, casting sprawling shadows over the city blocks below.
This unusual sight quickly caught the attention of many people.
When they looked up and saw the colossal tower high in the sky, they all widened their eyes in utter astonishment.
"Wh-what is that?"
"Could it be a spaceship?"
"Don’t be ridiculous, that’s a Wizard Tower!"
"Holy crap, I’m actually seeing a Wizard Tower!"
The common folk might not have known what it was, but any Wizard Apprentice or Knight with a bit of common knowledge immediately recognized the massive tower in the sky as the legendary Wizard Tower.
Some Wizard Apprentices from Wizard Clans, who knew more, were even more surprised.
Normally, Wizard Towers would conceal their presence when flying over Chenxi City to avoid causing a commotion.
But there was one exception.
When a newly constructed Wizard Tower entered Chenxi City, it was not required to be concealed and could fly openly over the city.
This was considered a declaration of honor and power.
It was both an announcement to the residents that Chenxi City had gained another powerful Elemental Mage and an opportunity for that Elemental Mage to display their might.
And so, very quickly, every Wizard in Chenxi City learned of one thing.
Pei Ze, hailed as Chenxi City’s most brilliant genius, now possessed his very own Wizard Tower!
...
「Inner City, Yin Family Estate.」
Yin Yongqin, who was chatting with Yin Xue in the study, suddenly focused his gaze and whipped his head around to look out the window.
"Father, what is it?" Yin Xue asked, puzzled.
A smile that was part admiration and part relief appeared on Yin Yongqin’s face.
"As expected of Pei Ze."
Yin Xue was taken aback for a moment, hearing Pei Ze’s name suddenly from her father.
Before she could ask what he meant, her vision blurred. When she came to her senses, Yin Xue found that she and her father were already in the courtyard.
The young woman grew more confused. Just as she was about to speak, her gaze suddenly froze.
High in the sky, a colossal tower was speeding past in the distance.
"A Wizard Tower!"
Yin Xue had always been quick-witted and intelligent. Seeing the scene before her and recalling her father’s earlier words, she understood in an instant, an expression of utter shock appearing on her face.
’Pei Ze... has already built his own Wizard Tower!’
"A Medium-sized Wizard Tower? No, it must be more than that."
Yin Yongqin remarked, sizing up the distant Wizard Tower with great interest.
"To build this Wizard Tower, Pei Ze invested nearly three million Magic Crystal Stones, and that’s not even counting the High-grade Soul Crystal Stone he got from the Tower of the Holy Ring, or the Elemental Source Crystal we gave him."
"And it’s said that he crafted many of the facilities himself, which saved a lot of money. All things considered, the cost Pei Ze has sunk into this Wizard Tower is probably close to five million Magic Crystal Stones."
Yin Xue couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath.
’Five million Magic Crystal Stones!’
’A Wizard Tower built with that kind of investment would surely have combat power far exceeding that of an ordinary Medium-sized Wizard Tower!’
Beyond her shock, however, Yin Xue also felt it was perfectly natural.
After all, it was Pei Ze. He always managed to astonish people, and this time was no exception.
...
"Mo Weng, is that your disciple’s Wizard Tower?"
"Stop asking the obvious. In the last few years, hasn’t Mo Weng’s disciple been the only Elemental Mage to register the construction of a Wizard Tower? Who else could it be?"
"Incredible. A large-scale Element Pool, a Large-scale Maze Locking Protective Energy Field... this configuration is nearly on par with a large-scale Wizard Tower."
"It’s more than that. Look at those Spell Towers on the tower’s body—they’ve clearly been modified and reinforced. I’d say this Wizard Tower’s combat power is no less than that of a large-scale one."
Five Wizards stood high in the sky, sizing up the distant Wizard Tower as they chatted and chuckled.
Listening to the other four, Mo Weng wore a reserved smile.
A Wizard with a straight posture and a ruddy complexion couldn’t stand it anymore. He pointed at Mo Weng and said with a chiding laugh, "If you want to laugh proudly, just do it! Look at you, acting all prim and proper. We get it, you have a good disciple, alright?"
The other three also shot him looks of mock disdain.
Mo Weng paid them no mind, a hint of superiority creeping into his smile.
’After all, since I already have such an outstanding student, what does it matter if they say a few more words?’
"Oh, right," a Wizard suddenly said. "Mo Weng, now that your disciple has a Wizard Tower, are you going to have him join the god-slaying operation?"
Mo Weng nodded slightly. "Of course."
A Red-haired Wizard laughed. "That’s great. I’ve long wanted to see just how outstanding this disciple of Mo Weng’s is."
"I wonder how he compares to my student?"
"We’ll just have to wait and see."
