Chapter 386
Yu Xin’s smile seemed genuinely heart-wrenching.
“Back then, I didn’t want to be involved in the matters between the Qin Family and our family. I truly fell in love with you and wanted to elope with you, but how did you treat me?” Yu Xin said.
Su Ze’s face turned pale, but he remained stubborn. “I was going to run away with you, you know that. It was Qin Jiaxi…”
Qin Jiaxi, caught off guard by the sudden mention of her name, was still trying to process all the shocking revelations, her mind in a daze.
“Spare me,” Yu Xin cut in. “When I met Qin Jiaxi in college, I realized she didn’t know us at all. How could someone who completely ignored us back then have seen us eloping in high school and reported it to your parents? It’s laughable. All that talk about Qin Jiaxi liking you first was just self-deception. You convinced yourself of a lie, even though you knew during your first interactions in college that she didn’t know you in high school. You just pretended not to know because you wanted to keep deceiving yourself!”
“The truth is, you deliberately led me toward Qin Jiaxi when she was passing by. She didn’t even glance at us, but you told me she might have recognized us and was going to tell on us. I believed you and panicked, running away with you. But in reality, you never wanted to elope. You were too ashamed to admit you had second thoughts, so you cooked up this story to shift the blame. Before we left, you regretted your decision and tricked the housekeeper into reporting your disappearance, but when you saw no result, you concocted this whole scheme when you met Qin Jiaxi.”
Su Ze’s eyes widened in panic, wanting to interrupt.
Yu Xin, however, wasn’t giving him the chance. “From start to finish, it was me who genuinely wanted to run away with you, while you were just afraid of losing your privileged life as a young master.”
“No, it wasn’t like that! Qin Jiaxi wanted to have me, so she purposely stopped us from eloping. It was her…”
“What are you talking about? I didn’t even know you in high school!” Qin Jiaxi finally cried out in surprise and anger.
Only then did she understand what Su Ze meant by claiming she had started it.
Yu Xin laughed. “Qin Jiaxi, you don’t need to argue. He won’t admit what a despicable coward he is. One of the reasons he treated you so horribly in college was to cover up his own dirty deeds. By pretending you were the one who betrayed us and prevented us from being together, he justified his actions against you without any guilt.”
Qin Jiaxi trembled, feeling a deep disgust. Unlike the hatred she felt toward her mother and brother, which was rooted in something real, this mindless malice was utterly nauseating. She had merely been in the wrong place at the wrong time, and now she was caught in this mess. It was all too revolting.
The surrounding crowd whispered among themselves, seeing Su Ze in a new light. He was even more despicable than they had imagined, utterly low and unworthy of being called a man.
“No, what I said is the truth! I didn’t wrong you; you wronged me!” Su Ze stubbornly insisted.
But Yu Xin retorted, “Then let me ask you this: If you really wanted to run away, why couldn’t you come back a few days later or call me? You acted as if everything was decided that day, and if it failed, that was it. Don’t treat me like I’m stupid. Your behavior proved you never wanted to elope with me in the first place. So what right do you have to blame me for being two-faced?”
Su Ze crumpled, losing all his strength. His final shred of dignity had been stripped away.
His vile and ugly thoughts were now fully exposed, leaving him without any ground to argue or even question.
“I just wanted to marry into wealth and live a comfortable life. Playing both of you was my way of ensuring the safest path, but neither of you were worth trusting. You’re both worthless!”
[Holy shit, I’m kind of impressed right now. I always thought Yu Xin was just a man-stealer, always chasing after guys. But damn… she’s not some lovesick idiot after all! This woman is ruthless. When she says she’s exposing everything, she really means it. Even more thorough than my investigations!]
Qin Second and his family had similar thoughts. They felt that Yu Xin was now fearless, capable of anything. People who could throw everything away were the most terrifying.
Qin Jiaxi looked at Su Ze, feeling so disgusted that she was beyond anger—she was numb. Wasting her emotions on him was pointless.
Watching both Su Ze and Qin Han being manipulated by Yu Xin, Qin Jiaxi felt it was some kind of karmic retribution.
Third Uncle Qin patted his precious daughter’s head. “Don’t dwell on it, don’t let it get to you. It’s all filth. Dad’s got it all recorded, and I’ll settle every bit of it for you.”
Just as he finished speaking, his phone started vibrating. With one hand still holding Third Aunt Qin, he didn’t intend to pick it up at first, but the persistent vibrations forced him to check.
Upon seeing the message, his fierce eyes sharpened. He quickly replied with one hand, then coldly glared at the stunned Third Aunt Qin.
The crowd was still buzzing with discussions about the messy love triangle.
Su Ze and Qin Han both gave Yu Xin fierce glares, their eyes practically saying they wouldn’t let her off the hook.
But Yu Xin didn’t care. With all her plans already failed, what else did she have to lose?
Not only did she have nothing to lose, but she also wanted to drag everyone else down with her. If she was going down, no one else would have it easy.
At that moment, her brother decided to kick her while she was down.
“Yu Xin, are you out of your mind? Do you think you can just ruin everything and leave us hanging? I’m about to end up in jail because of you! Apologize right now, beg for their forgiveness, don’t drag me down with you!”
“Me dragging you down? You don’t even have the right to say that. You’ve lived off me for half your life. What, now that something’s gone wrong, you can’t take any responsibility?” Yu Xin coldly snapped back. “You and Dad are both useless, you owe me your entire lives!”
Hearing Yu Xin mention her father, Third Uncle Qin’s grip on Third Aunt Qin tightened. Third Aunt Qin, too anxious to notice the pain, was afraid of what Yu Xin might reveal next.
“Yu Xin, that’s enough. You’ve said enough. Since reporting the incident has nothing to do with you, just leave,” Third Aunt Qin said, feeling a creeping sense of danger as a woman’s intuition.
But Yu Xin smiled at Third Uncle Qin. “Mr. Qin, I know I wronged your daughter. Here’s a big secret I want to share with you as a way to make amends and ask for your forgiveness in the future.”
Third Uncle Qin’s expression changed, and his voice trembled slightly. “Go ahead, but keep it quick.”
Yu Xin didn’t beat around the bush. “Shut up!” Third Aunt Qin suddenly shouted in panic.
“If you’re so scared, how could you have done it in the first place?” Yu Xin chuckled lightly.
“I didn’t wrong you, did I?” Third Aunt Qin asked nervously.
Yu Xin replied, “What do you think? If not for your interference, I wouldn’t have spent my childhood in an orphanage! I could have gone back home, not lived like a fake orphan! I was called a wild child with no parents. Has none of that been your fault? Mrs. Qin? Oh, I mean, my dad’s old flame!”
