After the Divorce, My Wife and I Were Both Reborn
Chapter 364 - 361: Recruiting D Station Creators
Chapter 364: Chapter 361: Recruiting D Station Creators
Halfway through their hot pot dinner, Jiang Xia arrived, having followed the address his wife had given him. He had originally wanted to bring Su Qing along since Qiuting was also here, but Su Qing had declined.
Seeing her boss suddenly arrive, Qiuting stood up timidly. Jiang Xia smiled and told her to sit down.
"Qiuting, we’re off the clock. Please, relax."
"Y-Yes, Boss."
Jiang Xia sat down beside his wife, and Lin Yanwan called a waiter over to bring another set of bowl and chopsticks.
"Hi, President Jiang," Cui Jiaying said with a grin.
"There’s no ’President Jiang’ here. You all can relax. I’m just here to freeload," Jiang Xia said with a hint of resignation.
That’s just how people are. Even the best of friends will drift apart when one of them makes it big. An unspoken distance just seems to form between them.
Lin Yanwan thoughtfully placed several pieces of cooked, tender beef into his bowl. ’He just got off work, so he must be starving.’
"Is anyone still at the office?"
"The key animation team for *Slam Dunk* is still working overtime, but I told them to head home early," Jiang Xia said while taking a big bite of beef.
Lin Yanwan nodded slightly. The key animation team was indeed very busy.
She glanced at Cui Jiaying and Si Si, hesitated for a moment, then asked on behalf of her good friends, "D Station is putting together new teams. Do you have any jobs that would be a good fit for Jiaying and Si Si?"
Jiang Xia paused, his chopsticks hovering over the pot. He glanced up at the two girls, who looked a bit sheepish, and had a good idea of what they had been discussing.
After a moment of thought, he said, "We do have some, yes. There are actually quite a few positions that would suit your Business Administration major. However, working at D Station can be pretty hectic. Are you two sure you want to start an internship right now?"
Cui Jiaying and Si Si nodded vigorously.
’If Yanwan and Qiuting can make time to work, then so can we.’
"Okay, here’s the plan. When we get back, I’ll have Yanwan send you the job listings. You can look them over and see which positions you’re interested in, then send me your resumes. I’ll arrange for someone at the company to run you through the interview process tomorrow, and after that, you can start a trial period."
They were both top students from Tsinghua’s School of Economics and Management, so Jiang Xia didn’t doubt their abilities. Still, whether they were the right fit for the company was something that could only be determined after a trial period.
"Thank you, President Jiang!" Cui Jiaying and Si Si said in unison, their faces lighting up with happy smiles.
Qitian Animation had already made a name for itself in the industry, and D Station’s popularity was at an all-time high. Getting a job at such a promising company in their freshman year meant their future careers were looking incredibly bright.
"It’s nothing."
Jiang Xia smiled. "It’s just good timing, really. If you’d said you wanted to join Qitian Animation, there wouldn’t have been much I could do. But Dili Dili is hiring right now, and there are a lot of open positions. You can take your pick and do whichever role suits you best. I only have one requirement, though: work hard. If you’re not capable enough, you can still be let go."
"Don’t worry, President Jiang. We won’t embarrass Yanwan," Cui Jiaying said confidently, secretly flashing a peace sign at Lin Yanwan.
Jiang Xia picked up a slice of beef tripe with his chopsticks, dunked it in the boiling hot pot a few times, and then said suddenly, "Oh, by the way... I just thought of a more unconventional career path. I wonder if you two would be interested in giving it a try?"
"Huh?" Cui Jiaying looked blank. "What’s an unconventional career path?"
"Do you two have D Station accounts?"
"We do."
Lin Yanwan glanced at Jiang Xia in surprise, a faint idea of what he was about to say forming in her mind.
"Have you guys ever looked at the Creator Center on D Station?" Jiang Xia asked, popping the cooked tripe into his mouth.
"President Jiang, are you talking about the ’UP Creator Incentive Program’?" Si Si asked.
Jiang Xia nodded. "That’s the one."
"D Station is currently recruiting UP Creators from all walks of life. The videos can be about food—like restaurant reviews, mukbangs, or just the cooking process."
"You could also share the study methods of a top Tsinghua student, make educational content about specialized topics, or analyze international affairs, military matters, economics, diplomacy, and so on."
"Or you could document the lives of cute pets, do commentary, make game guides, dance, do makeup tutorials, make music, sing, edit meme videos, do carpentry, blacksmithing, or other crafts..."
"Basically, you can do anything you’re interested in and good at, record the process, and post it on D Station. When you do, your work will be seen by countless users, and the ones who like your content will become your loyal fans."
"They’ll like, ’coin,’ save, share, and comment on your videos. Every single one of those metrics can be converted into real income, which you can then withdraw to a linked bank account," Jiang Xia said earnestly, chopsticks in hand.
’In his past life, the reason B Station became the country’s largest multicultural community was entirely thanks to the countless UP Creators from all walks of life. They constantly churned out high-quality videos, building an entire cultural ecosystem.’
’You could say that B Station provided the platform for its creators, and in turn, their creations fed back into B Station, nurturing its growth. The two were interdependent, forming a symbiotic relationship.’
Cui Jiaying looked at Si Si, a bit confused.
"Are UP Creators considered employees of D Station?" Si Si asked, getting straight to the heart of the matter.
"They’re not," Jiang Xia said, shaking his head.
"So that means no salary and no benefits?" Si Si asked, raising an eyebrow.
Jiang Xia nodded. "D Station only provides the creative platform. A UP Creator’s income is tied to their video metrics. If you’re lucky enough to become a major creator with hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of fans, you can easily earn tens of thousands a month."
Cui Jiaying’s eyes went wide. ’That’s insane!’ What she didn’t realize was that Jiang Xia was actually being very conservative with his estimate.
Si Si, however, was lost in thought.
Seeing that they were intrigued, Jiang Xia decided to strike while the iron was hot. "Right now, D Station is heavily promoting its UP Creators. Any outstanding content gets featured recommendations, and you’ll even get official resources from D Station to help you grow. Simply put, the sooner you become a creator, the easier it is to build an initial fanbase."
’He knew perfectly well that in this era where traffic is king, the famous "Top 100 UP Creators" from his past life were absolute money-making machines. If someone could become one of the first influencers of this new era and ride the initial wave of traffic, the money they could earn in a few years would be enough for a normal person to live on for the rest of their life.’
"So, it’s basically a partnership between the UP Creator and D Station?" Si Si asked.
"That’s right. It’s like working for yourself—you’re your own boss. It’s the new generation of freelance work," Jiang Xia said with a nod.
Lin Yanwan smiled. "Si Si, Jiaying, don’t underestimate being a UP Creator. If you do it well, it’s no worse than any traditional job. If you have hundreds of thousands or even millions of fans, you’re basically a modern-day public figure. You could think of it as being a different kind of celebrity."
