Chapter 326: Chapter 323: Airport Pick-up

"Ladies and gentlemen."

"Our flight has landed at Yu Du Jiangbei Airport. The outside temperature is 3 degrees Celsius. The aircraft is currently taxiing. For your safety and the safety of others, please remain seated and do not open the overhead compartments. After the plane has come to a complete stop, you may unfasten your seatbelt, gather your carry-on items, and prepare to deplane."

"Please be careful when retrieving items from the overhead compartments. Your checked baggage can be claimed at the baggage claim area. Passengers transferring to other flights at this airport, please proceed to the transit counter in the departure lounge."

"Thank you for choosing Southwest Airlines Company! We look forward to seeing you on your next journey!"

As the plane slowly came to a halt, the three of them unbuckled their seatbelts and followed the crowd out of the cabin.

Breathing in the fresh air outside, Jiang Xia thought about seeing his parents, whom he hadn’t seen in so long, and his mood brightened involuntarily.

"We’re finally here." He let out a long breath. There was nothing to do on the plane, so he had pretty much slept the whole way.

"My mom texted. She said they’re waiting for us at the arrival gate in Terminal 2," Lin Yanwan said, glancing at her phone.

Jiang Xia smiled and said, "Is my dad there too?"

"Mhm, they’re together." Lin Yanwan sounded a little resigned. ’They all came.’

"Well... should I make myself scarce?" Li Weiya asked.

Jiang Xia shook his head. "No need, Godmother. We agreed we’d all go back together."

Li Weiya smiled faintly and said no more.

After grabbing their luggage from baggage claim, they followed the crowd to the arrival gate. As they rode the escalator down, Jiang Xia spotted his parents and his mother-in-law in the crowd at a glance.

"Over there, see them?" He raised his hand, pointing into the crowd.

"Mhm!"

Lin Yanwan nodded vigorously, her face lit with excitement as she raised her arm to wave at their parents.

"Look, look, they’re out!" Xia Shanshan said, grabbing Ji Wanqiu’s hand.

"Mama, where are Big Sis and Brother-in-law? I wanna see too!" Lin Xiaoman pouted, tugging on Ji Wanqiu’s pant leg.

She was too short, her view completely blocked by the adults. She couldn’t see a thing. If her dad had been here, he definitely would have lifted her onto his shoulders for a piggyback ride.

"Don’t worry, Xiao Man. Your sister will be out in just a second."

Ji Wanqiu stroked her younger daughter’s head, but her gaze shifted from her daughter to Li Weiya, who was standing beside her.

’Director Li of Qitian Animation Company... why is she with my daughter? Even though I know about her relationship with Jiang Xia, seeing them together like this is quite a coincidence.’

She temporarily suppressed her doubts, deciding to ask about the situation in private later.

"Mom, Dad." After greeting his parents, Jiang Xia shamelessly walked up to Ji Wanqiu and called her "Mom" too. Hearing this, the smile on Ji Wanqiu’s face deepened.

Lin Yanwan followed behind Jiang Xia, blushing as she greeted both sets of parents.

"Why did you all come?" Jiang Xia chuckled.

"You’ll have to ask your mother. She can’t drive, so she had to drag me along as her chauffeur. Ever since you called last night to say you were coming back today, she’s been so excited she couldn’t sleep a wink," Jiang Wende said, mercilessly exposing her.

"Shoo, shoo. If I’d known Wanqiu was driving up, I wouldn’t have bothered calling you," Xia Shanshan retorted, rolling her eyes in annoyance.

"Brother-in-law, Brother-in-law! I was the one who told Mama I wanted to come pick you up!" Xiao Man said, tilting her head up with an adorable ’praise me now’ expression.

"Such a good girl, Xiao Man~ The best Xiao Man in the whole world!" Jiang Xia said with a laugh, ruffling his little sister-in-law’s hair.

"So... does Xiao Man get a present?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

"A present~? Of course, but you’ll have to wait until we get home," Jiang Xia said with a wink.

"Yay!"

Xiao Man jumped for joy, then turned to hug her sister’s waist and looked up at her expectantly. "Big Sis, does Xiao Man get a present from you?"

"Your brother-in-law already got you a present, and that’s not enough?" Lin Yanwan asked, gently pinching her little cheek.

"Big Sis is Big Sis, and Brother-in-law is Brother-in-law. Two people should give Xiao Man two presents, of course~" Xiao Man said very seriously.

Jiang Xia nodded. ’My little sister-in-law makes a logical and convincing argument.’

"Alright, Xiao Man, you already have so many toys at home there’s no room for more."

Ji Wanqiu pulled her younger daughter back, her gaze then falling on Li Weiya beside them. She extended a hand with a slight smile. "Director Li, what a coincidence. You’re coming home today too."

She knew perfectly well that Gaoyuan Toy Factory had been pulled back from the brink of bankruptcy. Now, the merchandise orders for *Cat and Mouse* were backed up until June of this year. Several production lines were running at full capacity every day and still couldn’t meet market demand. This was all thanks to Director Li for selling them the exclusive merchandise rights at an extremely low price back then.

It was no exaggeration to say that Li Weiya’s contribution to Gaoyuan Toy Factory’s current success was indispensable.

Li Weiya glanced at Jiang Xia. He was grinning as he played with Xiao Man, not even sparing a look in their direction.

’Since Jiang Xia doesn’t plan on coming clean just yet, I won’t get ahead of myself.’

"Yes, it is quite a coincidence." She chuckled and steered the conversation in another direction. "Congratulations, President Ji. Gaoyuan Toys has captured a huge market share recently."

"It’s all thanks to you. If *Cat and Mouse* hadn’t become a national sensation, our family business wouldn’t be doing this well."

The smile on Ji Wanqiu’s face didn’t fade. In the past six months, the toy factory’s revenue had exceeded thirty million, and that was after splitting it fifty-fifty with Qitian Animation.

One could only imagine the terrifying sales volume of Gaoyuan Toy Factory, which held the exclusive merchandise rights and dominated the vast majority of the domestic market.

Compared to this, the fees from selling the broadcast rights for *Cat and Mouse* to television stations were just a fraction of the merchandise revenue.

This was precisely why Jiang Xia valued intellectual property so much. The derivative income from various industries had long since far surpassed the original investment.

"You’re too modest, President Ji."

The two of them exchanged some pleasant business flattery with smiles before Ji Wanqiu steered the conversation toward more casual topics. She was keenly aware that the future of her family’s factory rested entirely in the hands of Qitian Animation.

Once the exclusive licensing contract expired, if Qitian Animation Company gave the rights for *Cat and Mouse* to another company, Gaoyuan Toy Factory’s fortunes would take a nosedive.

Therefore, getting on good terms with Director Li was of the utmost importance.

She had been worrying about how to get closer to Director Li. Wasn’t this a heaven-sent opportunity?

"Director Li, why did your company suddenly move to the Imperial Capital? When I contacted you before and you said you were in the Imperial Capital, I was quite surprised."

Li Weiya silently glanced at Jiang Xia out of the corner of her eye and thought, ’Shouldn’t you be asking your son-in-law that? I was perfectly happy back in my hometown, but he just had to call me over to the Imperial Capital.’

"It’s part of our company’s development strategy. Let’s just say the startup environment is better in the Imperial Capital."

"That’s for sure. It’s the Imperial Capital, after all, where the country’s best talent gathers." She was now a loyal fan of *Cat and Mouse* and watched every episode. The animation quality was undoubtedly much better than before.

Ji Wanqiu pursed her lips.

"Director Li, are you heading back to Wanzhou now? If you don’t mind, you can ride with me. It’s on the way."
