After the Divorce, My Wife and I Were Both Reborn
Chapter 285 - 282: I Really Want to Shout My Love for You
Chapter 285: Chapter 282: I Really Want to Shout My Love for You
In the blink of an eye, it was early winter, and the Capital City was seeing its first snow of the year.
The snow fell thick and fast, covering everything in a blanket of white.
This weekend, Jiang Xia and Lin Yanwan were in their rented apartment, sipping steaming coffee and enjoying the cozy central heating, a staple of the north.
Even though it was a world of silver and white outside, they were dressed in just light clothes indoors.
"Once the snow stops, let’s go build a snowman!" Lin Yanwan said, leaning against the window and watching as a thick layer of snow covered their neighborhood.
"Okay. Should we build a snowman or a snow-woman?" Jiang Xia asked, smiling at her.
"Hmph! Let’s not build one at all, then!"
Lin Yanwan pouted slightly. ’Just because we haven’t had a baby yet... He’s so hung up on it. He manages to connect everything back to having kids.’
Jiang Xia took a sip of his coffee, set down his pen, and walked over to the window. He slowly wrapped his arms around her slender waist from behind.
’Days like this are just perfect for making a baby.’
Lin Yanwan glanced down at his mischievous hands resting on her stomach. She didn’t need to be a mind reader to know what he was thinking.
"Baby, let’s ask Godmother to join us for lamb hot pot tonight," Jiang Xia said softly.
"Okay," she nodded gently. "Should we invite anyone else?"
"No need. Just the four of us."
The two of them embraced tenderly for a while longer before reluctantly separating to get back to their work.
Over the past month or so, Qitian Animation had gotten fully on track. The recording studio’s renovation was also complete, and it was now officially in use.
The entire team was proceeding in an orderly fashion according to the schedule. At their current pace, production on the third season of *Cat and Mouse* would be finished by the end of the month.
The visuals in the third season showed a clear improvement in both precision and quality. Once it aired, building on the popularity of the first two seasons, it was expected to break previous records.
Jiang Xia’s energy was now primarily focused on *Slam Dunk*. He only occasionally worked on the storyboards for *Cat and Mouse*, but even so, the drafts for the fifth season were already more than halfway done.
And this was while he was also dedicating part of his energy to specially training Wang Ming’s directorial skills. Otherwise, the storyboards for the sixth season would probably be nearly finished by now.
All that was left was for Old Wang to take the reins from him, so he could further expand the company’s team and launch the *Slam Dunk* project.
However, he would have to discuss the specifics of this matter with Li Weiya tonight.
As for Lin Yanwan, she was now not only in charge of the company’s finances but also worked as a voice actress. Even though the company had hired a professional small wind ensemble, which greatly improved the efficiency of the musical scoring, she was still needed to coordinate with the music supervisor on the voice-acting side of production.
Before they knew it, the snow outside had lightened considerably.
Jiang Xia stretched his neck and glanced at the woman beside him, who was busy writing lyrics for the *Slam Dunk* theme song. He smiled. "Go build that snowman?"
"Okay!" A smile blossomed on Lin Yanwan’s face.
"Then you have to put on a scarf, gloves, thermal underwear, and a down jacket. Otherwise, I’m not taking you," Jiang Xia said, pinching her cheek.
"I know, I know. You go get changed too."
Lin Yanwan pouted and gave him a quick kiss before getting up and heading to their room.
Jiang Xia pressed his lips together, savoring the sweetness of their love. His gaze slowly fell upon her desk, where a complete set of lyrics with a musical score lay—
*I Really Want to Shout My Love for You*
His heart warmed, and he suddenly felt the urge to pull her into his arms and kiss her a dozen times.
Lin Yanwan secretly cracked the door open. Seeing that he had discovered the lyrics she’d left for him, she giggled to herself and gently closed the door again.
A few minutes later, she emerged from the bedroom, all bundled up, and saw Jiang Xia still staring at the lyrics.
"Why haven’t you changed yet?"
He held up the lyrics and grinned. "I’m waiting for you to shout your love for me."
"Hmph, I won’t."
"Then will you sing it for me?"
"Okay!" Lin Yanwan’s eyes curved into crescents as she smiled.
A short while later, two new snowmen appeared on the snowy grounds of the neighborhood. One had "10" written on its chest, and the other had "11".
That day, a girl shouted to a boy, "My love, I love you!"
◇
As night fell, the two walked hand in hand toward the time-honored lamb hot pot restaurant they had agreed on.
They didn’t have to wait long before Li Weiya and Wang Ming arrived.
"Ah Xia, Yanwan, sorry to keep you waiting."
"Not at all, we just got here a moment ago," Jiang Xia said with a smile as he brushed the snowflakes off Li Weiya’s coat. "Godmother, it’s cold today. You’re a bit underdressed."
"It’s fine. The office is heated, so I wasn’t cold," Li Weiya said with a smile as she sat down.
"Was Ah Ming working overtime at the office today too?"
Wang Ming nodded. "I still had a few drafts to finish. The atmosphere at the office is better than in the dorm, so I can draw faster there."
After they were all seated, the waiter began to bring out the food.
Jiang Xia dumped all the lamb into the pot. While it cooked, he handed the second half of the *Slam Dunk* script to Li Weiya.
"Godmother, I’m planning to hire another batch of people in December to expand the studio," Jiang Xia said slowly.
"You’re planning to produce *Slam Dunk*?" Li Weiya frowned slightly. She had read part of the script before and had also seen some of the storyboards Jiang Xia had drawn.
Honestly, it was an excellent animation proposal, but compared to *Cat and Mouse*, it lacked that special something that had immediately captured her excitement.
Moreover, an anime with a basketball theme would alienate a large portion of the audience who aren’t interested in the sport from the get-go. In other words, even if *Slam Dunk* was made very well, its viewership might not even match that of *Cat and Mouse*.
She, for one, wasn’t interested in *Slam Dunk*. She just couldn’t understand the appeal of a bunch of people fighting over a ball.
"Mhm. The preliminary work is almost all ready. All that’s missing now is a team to coordinate with me, and we can officially begin production on *Slam Dunk*," Jiang Xia said with a nod.
"Ah Xia, I still think this is a bit too aggressive. While it’s a great inspirational basketball story, the market is what determines ratings. Are you sure you don’t want to reconsider? We might not be able to recoup our initial investment for a very long time."
"Godmother, that’s actually the last thing we need to worry about. I’m making anime to make money. I wouldn’t bother making an anime that doesn’t turn a profit."
Jiang Xia chuckled. The original manga had sold over 100 million copies. Now that he was creating a direct anime adaptation, it would absolutely start a trend in this world.
’Who knows, maybe soon all the online forums will be filled with the "Coach, I want to play basketball" meme.’
Seeing his confident expression, Li Weiya felt helpless. ’Well, he’s the boss, after all.’
"Since you’re so insistent, then fine. I’ll help you recruit people. But you promised me before that you wouldn’t slow down the progress on *Cat and Mouse*, no matter what."
"Ah Ming, you hear that? I’m talking to you. You need to hurry up and level up so you can take this weight off my shoulders."
Without a word, Wang Ming simply rolled his eyes at him.
’He’d only been training for less than two months. It was way too early for that.’
