Chapter 250: Chapter 248: World Line Convergence

In the quiet office, by the floor-to-ceiling windows, the two of them kissed, their breathing growing labored.

Lin Yanwan could feel the distinct change in his body.

Her heart pounded in her chest. Although such embraces were nothing new for them, this was, strictly speaking, the first time they had been truly alone together since their rebirth.

An empty room, a quiet atmosphere, and no one to disturb them. The only thing separating this from a hotel room was a bed.

Their current relationship was incredibly delicate. They knew every mole on each other’s bodies; they weren’t husband and wife, yet they were closer than most.

Jiang Xia greedily savored the sweetness of her lips. The soft pressure against his chest was an unprecedented kind of bliss, and he felt a fire igniting within him.

Lin Yanwan’s face was flushed a tempting shade of red. Gasping for breath, she suddenly pushed him away. "We can’t."

’At least not here.’

"Weren’t you the one who dared me to take you if I had the guts? Now that I’m making my move, you’re getting cold feet?" Jiang Xia teased, pressing his forehead against hers.

"You must have remembered wrong!" Lin Yanwan denied, her expression betraying her guilt.

With no one else around, she was genuinely worried that Jiang Xia might lose his head and take her right then and there.

Jiang Xia chuckled. "Is that so? I seem to remember you saying it."

"I did not!"

Flustered, Lin Yanwan struggled out of his embrace. If this went on any longer, she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to stop herself from giving in to him.

Jiang Xia closed his eyes and took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.

Even if Lin Yanwan had agreed right now, he wouldn’t have gone through with it.

Their first time together after their rebirth shouldn’t be so casual.

"Hmph. I’ll let you off the hook for today!"

"Pfft!"

Lin Yanwan’s face was still flushed, but she knew there would be many more occasions in the future when they would be alone. ’If he really makes a move then,’ she wondered, ’will I still be able to resist like I am now?’

"Let’s go."

The two took the elevator down from the fifteenth floor. In the lobby, they found the property manager from earlier and requested a cleaning service for the office. They also picked up a detailed floor plan.

He was an art major, after all. The workstations for each department and the overall office layout needed to be designed with care.

He also planned to have his father-in-law send over some *Cat and Mouse* figurines to decorate the place, giving it the proper feel of an animation studio.

After securing the new company address, Jiang Xia drove Lin Yanwan back to school. They had a lot to do recently and needed to make every second count.

"Babe, I’ll have to trouble you with the company’s move."

"Mhm, I’ll take care of it as soon as I can. You just focus on recruiting."

Back in his dorm room, Jiang Xia announced the new office location in the company group chat. It was a shame he couldn’t send photos to show everyone what it looked like, but when they heard the total space was over 300 square meters, the others were still astounded.

[Wang Ming]: Awesome! We finally have our own office space! Old Jiang, can I call dibs on a desk by the window?

[Jiang Xia]: That’s not even a question. Of course you can!

[Shen Ying]: I’m so jealous of you all. I want a desk too, wahhh.

[Lin Yanwan]: Yingying, there will always be a spot saved for you here~

[Shen Ying]: Thank you, boss lady!

[Jiang Xia]: Everyone, I’m about to add two artists to the group. They’re my classmates, but I told them I’m not the boss. So, I’m planning to have our respected senior, Aunt Li, pose as the boss.

[Li Weiya]: ...Can I refuse?

[Jiang Xia]: Aunt Li, with great power comes great responsibility. Please don’t decline. I’m too young; only you can command the proper respect.

Li Weiya didn’t believe a word of it. ’Isn’t this just Ah Xia trying to find new ways to mess with me?’

But there was nothing she could do. After all, she was working for him now.

[Wang Ming]: Old Jiang, I’ve recruited an artist too. Should I add them to the group?

[Jiang Xia]: Add them all.

And so, Wang Ming sent an "OK" emoji.

A few minutes later, three people joined the QQ group one after another. Instantly, everyone started spamming "Welcome, new members!"

Su Qing looked at the group name, "Qitian Animation." It was indeed the producer of *Cat and Mouse*. ’But why are there so few people?’ he thought. ’No wonder Jiang Xia said the company was extremely short-staffed.’

[Lin Yanwan]: New members, please change your group nickname to the format "Position - Name" to make it easier for everyone to get to know each other.

Seeing the name "Lin Yanwan," Su Qing froze. ’Holy crap, his wife is in the group too? What’s this, an office romance?’

Jiang Xia saw the doubt in Su Qing’s eyes and explained, "She’s the composer for *Cat and Mouse* right now, while also temporarily serving as our accountant and administrator."

He paused for a moment as he said it, only now realizing that he might be exploiting his wife a little too much.

Su Qing’s mouth twitched. ’One person holding three jobs? This studio is starting to seem really sketchy.’

’If I ignore the accounting and admin roles and just focus on the music...’ he thought, going through a process of elimination. ’Does that mean she’s the one who single-handedly created all the god-tier music for *Cat and Mouse*?’

That was completely outrageous. He never would have guessed that Lin Yanwan knew anything about composing. Wasn’t she from the School of Economics and Management, studying business administration?

Su Qing desperately wanted to ask Jiang Xia just what other hidden talents the couple was hiding from him.

He thought about it, but decided against it, silently changing his group nickname instead.

[Key Animator - Su Qing]: Hello everyone, my name is Su Qing. I’m a key animator.

[Key Animator - Luo Peng]: Hi everyone, I’m Luo Peng. I’m also a key animator.

[Key Animator - Zhang Yuanyuan]: Hi everyone, my name is Zhang Yuanyuan. I was invited by our classmate Wang Ming to temporarily work as a key animator on *Cat and Mouse*. I look forward to working with you all.

Seeing that name, Jiang Xia froze.

A buried memory suddenly assaulted him. ’Isn’t this... isn’t this the fucking green tea bitch who indirectly got Old Wang killed in their past life?’

From what he recalled, the two of them shouldn’t have even met until their sophomore year, after Wang Ming had created his own animation and won an award for it. How had the timeline jumped forward so drastically?

A moment later, a private message from Lin Yanwan popped up.

[Lin Baobao]: Is this that green tea?

[Jiang Hanhan]: Looks like it.

[Lin Baobao]: Hmmm, so what are you going to do?

[Jiang Hanhan]: Nothing to discuss. I’m kicking her. Nipping this in the bud.

[Lin Baobao]: Isn’t that a bit harsh? What if Wang Ming feels guilty about it...

But Jiang Xia couldn’t be bothered with that. Guilt or no guilt, it was a small price to pay to keep his good brother from losing his life.

And so, everyone in the chat saw—

[Key Animator - Zhang Yuanyuan] was kicked from the group chat by the administrator [Jiang Xia].
