After the Divorce, My Wife and I Were Both Reborn
Chapter 227 - 225: Move Aside, You’re Blocking My Wife
Chapter 227: Chapter 225: Move Aside, You’re Blocking My Wife
After the class meeting ended, the students trickled out in small groups. The counselor kept only the class president behind to go over some more arrangements related to the military training.
Jiang Xia sent Lin Yanwan a text. Her class was large, and they were still in the middle of self-introductions. He asked her for a specific location and headed straight for the School of Economics and Management Building.
"Nanny Su, I’ve got something to do. Why don’t you head back by yourself?"
Su Qing nodded. He figured Jiang Xia was off to find his girlfriend again and had no intention of being a third wheel, so he headed back to the dorm alone.
Having spent the day with him, Su Qing felt the guy’s character was actually pretty decent. Their worldviews were also quite similar; both of them scoffed at the idea of running off to study in the US at the drop of a hat.
’I mean, it’s 9002, and people are still groveling?’
A little over ten minutes later, Jiang Xia arrived outside the designated classroom. He stealthily opened the back door and saw that someone was still giving their self-introduction. The counselor had already called number 31.
He roughly estimated the class had nearly forty people. It was clear that the School of Economics and Management lived up to its reputation as one of Tsinghua’s largest schools.
Pretending to be an Economics and Management student, Jiang Xia slipped inside and quietly found a seat. His gaze swept the room, and he spotted Lin Yanwan and her three roommates sitting in two rows near the back, by the window.
He took out his phone and texted her, "Babe, what number are you?"
"Number 7."
Lin Yanwan quickly replied, "Where are you?"
"Hehe, guess."
She subconsciously turned to look toward the classroom door and, sure enough, saw him sitting leisurely near the back entrance.
Their eyes met. Jiang Xia even puckered his lips and blew her a kiss. Lin Yanwan’s face flushed slightly. ’What is he doing here?’
Tang Qiuting gave her a puzzled look, then followed Sister Yanwan’s gaze and immediately spotted Jiang Xia. A look of shock instantly appeared on her face.
"Sister Yanwan, Jiang... Jiang..."
"I know. Shh!"
"Oh."
Tang Qiuting blinked. ’Judging by Sister Yanwan’s reaction, it’s like they’re having a secret affair.’
"What are you doing here?" Lin Yanwan typed, her head lowered as her fingers tapped rapidly.
Jiang Xia replied instantly: "To see you, of course. I was thinking of taking Business Administration as an elective so we could be in the same class."
"Don’t be ridiculous!"
She was a little speechless. While most of Tsinghua’s courses were open to all students, he should at least pick electives that complemented his own major. ’This guy really thinks university is just a place for dating.’ Even if he wanted to be with her, it wasn’t like he couldn’t just sit in on her classes any other time.
"How much longer until your class meeting is over?"
"It should be over soon."
The two of them secretly chatted on QQ, and Jiang Xia shared some of the more amusing things he had seen earlier at the School of Art Building.
Before they knew it, the counselor’s speech was winding down. After a few final words about what to expect from military training, the class meeting was over.
Then he saw someone boldly walk up to Lin Yanwan to ask for her contact information. Jiang Xia frowned. ’My wife is too outstanding, and there are always suitors around. I have to find a way to put a stop to their wishful thinking. Otherwise, this kind of scene will keep happening. While it isn’t a threat to my position, it’s still pretty damn annoying.’
"Excuse me, classmate. Could you please move? You’re blocking my wife," Jiang Xia said calmly, standing up and patting the guy’s shoulder.
The guy jumped, startled. He turned around to see Jiang Xia looking at him with a calm expression, and the courage he had just mustered up instantly evaporated.
One of the most awkward moments in life has to be asking for a girl’s contact information right in front of her boyfriend.
’And the worst part is, I’m not even as handsome as him!’
"Sorry, so sorry! I didn’t know Classmate Lin already had a boyfriend."
The boy apologized profusely before scurrying out of the classroom. Then, many eyes fell upon Jiang Xia, wanting to see just who this guy was who had snagged the class beauty right at the start of the semester.
Jiang Xia ignored them all, took her hand, and walked out. The other three girls quickly followed.
’After all, Lin Yanwan is the wife I’ve shared a bed with for eight years. How could anyone else possibly compete?’
By tonight, all the boys in her class would probably know that the class beauty had a boyfriend. After all, plenty of people had heard him call her "wife" and had seen the two of them leave hand in hand.
The moment they stepped out of the School of Economics and Management Building, Cui Jiaying couldn’t help but wave her arms around and squeal.
"AHH! So cool! Unbelievably cool! Yanwan, your boyfriend was so devastatingly cool just now!"
She stood in front of Si Si, mimicking the boy from before. "Cla... Classmate Lin, hello. It’s nice to meet you. C-can I be friends with you?"
Then her tone shifted as she imitated Jiang Xia’s posture and voice: "Excuse me, classmate. Could you please move? You’re blocking my wife."
"AHHH, wasn’t his timing just perfect? Like a superhero! Doesn’t it have that ’hero saving the damsel in distress’ vibe?" Cui Jiaying giggled. "I hereby declare Jiang Xia the Best Boyfriend of the Day!"
He chuckled softly. ’Any decent guy would have stepped in to stop that, right?’
"So, Jiang Xia, when did you get here?" Si Si asked curiously.
Tang Qiuting looked like she wanted to speak but stopped herself. She knew the answer, but she’d had a lifelong habit of not speaking unless she was asked directly.
"Right when you guys were still doing your self-introductions," Jiang Xia said with a smile. "Our class meeting ended early, so I just wandered over. Good thing I did."
Cui Jiaying gave him a thumbs-up. ’Always protecting his girl. Now that’s a real boyfriend. He gets a ’like’ from me.’
"Even if you hadn’t come, I know how to turn people down," Lin Yanwan muttered. In her past life, she had rejected countless people, but Jiang Xia was the only one she’d ever said yes to.
"I know, but even if you don’t mind the trouble, it bothers me to see it. So it’s better to just make a clean cut and nip any of that wishful thinking in the bud," Jiang Xia said.
Lin Yanwan couldn’t help but scoff inwardly. ’"Bothers me to see it"? Please. Isn’t this just a man’s petty possessiveness?’
"Ew, they’re starting with the PDA again. Si Si, Qiuting, let’s go! Let’s not just stand here like idiots being the third wheels. Don’t you know we’re getting in the way of their date?"
"It’s fine. As long as I’m not the one who’s embarrassed, they’re the ones who will be," Si Si said with a completely calm expression.
"Let’s go, let’s go! What’s so great about watching their lovey-dovey stuff? And Qiuting, your big sister will find you a boyfriend, hahaha! Is your little heart fluttering now?~"
"Um, Sister Jiaying, I’m not planning on dating right now," Tang Qiuting said in a small voice, her face turning red.
The two of them were forcibly dragged away by Cui Jiaying. Jiang Xia watched her retreat and said with a smile, "Babe, don’t you think she’s a lot like Shen Ying?"
Just as innocent and lively, and just as good at reading the room.
Back when the two of them had just been reborn, Shen Ying had often dragged Wang Ming away to give them a chance to be alone.
"Their personalities are a bit similar," Lin Yanwan agreed with a nod.
Jiang Xia turned to look at her face, which looked especially bright and beautiful under the moonlight.
"So, want to go for a walk? Hmm... I mean, on a date."
