After the Divorce, My Wife and I Were Both Reborn
Chapter 152 - 151: The Masseuse I Ordered Is Actually My Wife?
Chapter 152: Chapter 151: The Masseuse I Ordered Is Actually My Wife?
The masseuse hesitated for a moment. Seeing that the hour was almost up on the wall clock, she nodded. "Alright, you do it. I can give you some pointers."
She took an oil-absorbing sheet and wiped the essential oil from her hands. Lin Yanwan gleefully walked to the bedside, rubbed a little essential oil on her hands, took a deep breath, and gently placed her small hands on Jiang Xia’s back. Recalling the massage techniques from before, she gently pressed into his skin.
His skin felt slick beneath her hands, and the essential oil smelled wonderful—like roses.
"Your technique is right, but your pressure is a little weak. In our line of work, you have to have strong hands," the masseuse said with a smile.
"Mm!"
"Okay, you can keep going. If no new clients come in, you can go a little over time even after the timer goes off."
Lin Yanwan nodded and focused on giving Jiang Xia the essential oil massage. Even though her fingers started to ache after a while and tiny beads of sweat formed on the tip of her nose, as long as she could help ease his fatigue, she had no intention of stopping.
Ten minutes passed in a flash. The alarm that had been set earlier rang a few times and then stopped. The masseuse walked over and made a couple of hand gestures, signaling that she could keep going.
But less than two minutes later, Jiang Xia groggily opened his eyes.
When he looked up, the first thing he noticed was that his wife wasn’t sitting on the long sofa. His drowsiness vanished in an instant.
"Honey? Where’s my honey?"
He frantically turned to ask the masseuse, only to see it was actually his wife giving him the massage. He froze completely.
’What kind of roleplay is this?’
’The masseuse I booked is actually my wife?’
"Shut up!"
Flustered and annoyed, Lin Yanwan pinched his skin tightly. All he knew how to do was shout "Honey" so boisterously, as if he were afraid other people wouldn’t know. It’s not like she’d run off!
"Ehehehe, baby, how is it you?" Jiang Xia blinked, pleasantly surprised.
"Is there a problem with that? Just tell me if it feels good or not!"
Lin Yanwan continued pressing his back with her palms. Perhaps because the essential oil was slowly being worked into his skin, his back looked a little red and felt a bit hot.
"It feels amazing. Your hands are so soft." Jiang Xia nodded eagerly, and even started fantasizing about her touching other places that were just as soft.
"Then lie down and behave!" Lin Yanwan patted him lightly, feigning anger.
Jiang Xia obediently closed his eyes. He hadn’t enjoyed this kind of service many times, even in his past life. Lubricant, on the other hand, was something he’d used often, and in various positions.
"How does it feel?"
"Gentler than the last therapist."
"That’s because my hands aren’t strong."
"Then let’s stop. I’m worried your fingers will be sore tonight."
Jiang Xia rolled over and sat up. Lin Yanwan took several oil-absorbing sheets and wiped him clean. ’Now that I’ve learned the massage technique, there will be plenty of opportunities to practice on him in the future. After all, there are still those acupressure points for boosting energy and virility.’
She took out 30 yuan and paid. As they were leaving, the masseuse reminded them, "Hey, pretty girl, don’t forget your rose. Also, if you’re going to shower tonight, it’s best to use hot water, and don’t stay in for too long."
The two of them nodded, took the flower, and walked out of the shop. Jiang Xia stretched his arms, shoulders, and neck. He felt as if the bones in his upper body had been loosened—it was sore, but also very comfortable.
"No wonder so many people love getting massages. It really does feel amazing." He twisted his neck, heard two cracks, and felt no soreness or pain.
Lin Yanwan said with a serious expression, "If you think it helps, I can give you massages whenever you get tired from drawing."
"No, don’t. Don’t think I don’t know, being a masseuse is really hard on the hands. Some people’s knuckles even get deformed. It would break my heart." As Jiang Xia spoke, he took her small hand and began to gently rub it. In a way, this was another instance of them caring for and complementing each other.
"Just doing it occasionally won’t cause any problems," she said.
"Still no. These are the hands of a pianist."
"And yours are the hands of an artist," Lin Yanwan retorted petulantly. "I can stop playing the piano, but you can’t stop drawing."
Jiang Xia said helplessly, "Can we talk about the future later?"
He suddenly changed the subject. "Baby, when that masseuse was massaging me just now, were you getting jealous again?"
"No!" Lin Yanwan denied it forcefully, refusing to admit it even if it killed her.
Jiang Xia pouted. ’I don’t believe her for a second. If she wasn’t jealous, would her words have sounded so sour? If she wasn’t jealous, would she have sent the therapist away to take over herself?’
’Who are you kidding!’
He glanced at the time. It was already past 9:30, and the crowd in the square had thinned out. If they didn’t head back soon, his father-in-law would probably be out looking for them.
"It’s getting late. Let’s go back," he said.
"Mm."
Walking to the roadside, Jiang Xia raised his hand to hail a cab. But then he saw a very familiar license plate number and quickly pulled Lin Yanwan around so their backs were to the street.
"What’s wrong?"
"Shh, don’t talk yet. I’ll explain in a bit."
Jiang Wende pulled over and rolled down the window. He couldn’t help but smile looking at the pair with their backs turned to him.
’Do they really think I won’t recognize them just from the back?’
’Looks like this kid still doesn’t know his old man. After driving for decades, my skill at recognizing people has been honed to perfection.’
"What are you standing there frozen for? Get in the car."
Hearing the familiar voice, Lin Yanwan instantly understood why Jiang Xia had turned them around. ’So we ran into his dad again?’
’Is the city too small, or is this family just too connected by fate? How can we run into each other everywhere we go?’
"Dad! What a coincidence. Why are you out driving instead of resting at home this late?" Jiang Xia said with a sheepish grin.
Since he’d been found out, there was no point in pretending to be clueless anymore.
Lin Yanwan carefully hid the rose behind her back and chimed in, "Hello, Uncle Jiang."
"I’d just be bored at home. Might as well get a few more fares and earn some cash." Jiang Wende pretended not to see the fleeting glimpse of the rose. ’Didn’t expect that. The kid actually knows a thing or two about romance.’
"Dad, didn’t I tell you not to drive at night? Our family doesn’t need this extra money right now. Can’t you just stick to a regular work schedule?"
Jiang Xia still hadn’t gotten over his father’s death from drowsy driving in his past life, and he was terrified the tragedy would repeat itself in this one.
"Does college pay for itself?"
"I can get scholarships for college."
"Alright, alright. It’s not like I do this every day. Besides: one, I don’t drink; two, my eyesight is fine; and three, I’m not tired. Nothing’s going to happen."
’Besides, if I wasn’t out driving, how would I have run into these two on their date?’
Jiang Wende waved his hand. Seeing that Jiang Xia was about to say more, he urged, "Get in the car first. We can talk more on the way."
The young couple got into the back seat. Jiang Wende glanced at the rose and said, "So, you’re taking Yanwan home now, right?"
"Yeah, that’s right."
