As for the main parks, there were indeed quite a few trees, some of them even had something like treehouses, while others just had branches occupied by a napping orc.

There was a central gathering area and a clan fire. People would gather there and dance during events like weddings.

Other than this, the only other area for entertainment was the sparring grounds. For a village, there was a lot of this; about every few blocks, there was something.

Orcs weren’t really ones for idle gossip and chatter, and their socialization had to do with fists.

Other than a lot of sparring areas, they also had larger roads for swift runs, and there would always be a few who would dash through it at a time. Some hopper-type orcs like rabbits and kangaroos would jump over the one-storey buildings effortlessly.

Buildings were non-scalable, but that didn’t matter if the citizen could literally leap over it.

These were village-level folk, but since they had stayed as a village for a very long time, the average level was high, and this was on top of the higher physicality. She saw plenty of orcs past level 16, and there were also those nearing level 20.

If they upgraded now and went against a newly upgraded human town, they might win.

Finally, the scent spread around the village was a bit indescribable. It reminded her of the zoo mixed with the smell of meat, butchered meat, and burnt meat. They also used a lot of bones for decorations, as their aesthetics seemed to have a lot to do with those.

There were bones of various beasts, but also of humans. Althea cringed when she got close to a skull treated as a door decor, but she continued walking along the side of the roads as her eyes observed everything she could.

At some point, her feet stopped, and she slid against a wall.

She saw a few men gathered together. They were guards, an orc team leader, and half-orc team members, and they seemed to be on a break and were hanging around.

Althea, naturally, went to listen.

"When are we taking the women up?"

"Should be tonight."

One half-orc, a snake, looked at his teammate. "Isn’t it your turn tonight?"

"Ugh." Surprisingly, the feline half-orc sounded unwilling.

The snake hissed, though it was just part of his speaking patterns. "Well, what can you do—hiss? Your tiger lineage is very attractive, so the Lord and the others hoped you would give birth to cubs, hiss."

The smallest one, a rabbit, looked at the other guards, specifically, the deer and the meercat. "You’re lucky, hiss. No one’s pushing you to touch those humans."

The tone of distaste in the group made her eyebrows rise.

In her impression, men discussing these things would be cackling, lecherous expressions on their faces. There had been very few exemptions in lewd discussions.

Now... Althea was beginning to wonder if these orcs had even enjoyed the process of having sex with women? It was unlike those human men who take advantage for pleasure. Some of these beasts looked like they were being forced to it, too.

She wondered how she felt about this. Some were definitely still perpetrators, no matter if it was nonconsensual, so they could not be forgiven easily.

Not to mention, from the looks of it, not all orcs or half-orcs have participated. From the conversation, she could infer that at least half had never joined in.

As for whether they—or at least the innocent orcs and half-orcs—deserved a horrible death and torture like Pat and the others, she could not say yet.

She remembered that back in Warrior City, the half-orcs had mentioned that those extremist orcs were actually the minority, and that genuine sexual attraction across races was extremely rare, almost impossible.

The fact that they could procreate at all was unnatural, and this was why the women would almost always die after giving birth.

It was just particularly unfair that it was the mothers who had to suffer this tragic fate.

Soon, she encountered small groups heading in a direction, eventually merging with bigger crowds. As she followed, she realized she had ended up on the plaza in front of the village center.

The village center had been established early on by the original human settlers and had been unchanged since then. The original plaza in front of it was only two to three hundred square meters.

It was certainly insufficient to hold the number of orcs and half-orcs, and some slave humans, coming here. The rest of them overflowed to the connecting streets, and this included Althea, who found a nice place to watch at one of the corners.

Soon, the crowd shifted a bit, looking excitedly at the platform set up next to the Center.

"The Lord is out!"

"It’s time for the leader’s teachings."

"I wish we could do this every day."

"Once a week is already very good."

Soon, a few orcs appeared at the side of the platform and climbed up. Her eyebrows realized that the orc guards were following someone much smaller than them.

The Lord was actually a half-orc. It was no wonder the status of half-orcs here was higher than in other orc territories.

She remembered Gochi and the others often mentioned their lives before they were taken back as slaves of human territories, after their original orc village was mobbed and defeated.

Their position in the orc territories where they were born in was not much different to their awkward positions as slaves in the now-destroyed Hoskle Village.

It could even be said to be more dangerous. Even if they weren’t slaves in the original territory, their ’bullies’ were orcs. A single smack could leave permanent injuries.

Anyway, Althea looked at the Lord, a half-orc fox. Unlike Gochi, his fur was a bit more orange, and his physique was actually smaller.

He looked relatively young, in his twenties, but his aura was not weak, and she could tell he was older than his looks. He was probably no less than level 30.

"My brethren," he began. "Today is a great day, isn’t it? Another day given to us by the Beast God, and another day to serve him well."

"Glory to the Beast God!"

"Glory to the Beast God!"

He began his speech—or rather, sermon, and Althea observed that even the orcs, who were known for their short attention spans, could actually stay still and listen.

Some of them even had the look of fanaticism.

Althea narrowed her eyes, lifting her head to stare at the fox.

Did he have similar skills to Mathilda’s?
