Mengyu glanced at the dishes prepared by the Gu Family. There were many people present, but it was obvious that the dishes might not be enough. Perhaps her future mother-in-law didn’t anticipate so many guests.

Over three jin of meat cut from abalones weighing over a dozen jin;

Two shrimps weighing over two jin each;

A piece of meat weighing over two jin cut from a bluefin tuna temporarily stored in space.

Except for the bluefin tuna, all items were already processed and ready for cooking.

Beside the box were a bunch of fresh green vegetables, a dozen dew-kissed tomatoes, and six cucumbers.

Mengyu saw Hai Xue stunned and asked, "Aunt, is this enough?"

Hai Xue snapped out of it, delightfully saying, "Enough, enough. With these good things, we can make an excellent meal." She pointed at the vegetables and asked, "In this weather, where did you get these?"

Mengyu smiled, saying, "I had someone grow them."

"How could they grow in this weather?" Hai Xue was skeptical.

"With a greenhouse, heating inside to keep it at about twenty degrees, they can grow."

"That’s even more precious than meat."

With so many additional ingredients, Hai Xue busied herself again while Mengyu helped on the side. Xiangnong, the cousin from the elder aunt’s family, was tasked with slicing the tuna.

Hai Xue quickly finished preparing the other dishes, leaving only the tuna, not sure how to cook it.

Mengyu remembered a method from the future and said, "I’ll prepare this dish."

"That would be wonderful." Hai Xue quickly handed over the chef’s position.

Mengyu washed the tuna meat, patted it dry with paper towels, sprinkled salt and pepper on both sides, then put a small spoonful of oil in the frying pan, cooking each side for about 5 minutes. The fish meat was still a bit raw in the middle. If you fully cook it, it wouldn’t slice well.

Let the cooked meat cool slightly on the cutting board, then slice it, arranging the slices into two plates, each with soy sauce, chili, and sesame.

Xianglang took a sniff, "Smells delicious! Sister-in-law, you really know cooking."

Mengyu laughed nervously, "I’m honestly not great at cooking. I saw someone make this before, so, haha, don’t blame me if it’s not good."

Soon, the dishes were served. Despite the crowds, everyone gathered around one table for festivity. Initially, the house didn’t have such a big table, but Gu Dongxing went out and brought back a large round table. There was a hole in the middle, under it was a stove with a fire burning, topped with a large pot filled with Xiangnong’s chicken soup.
