Fortunately, the pathway where they were fighting was enormous, stretching nearly a kilometer wide. Above them, the ceiling remained impossibly high, sealed by the same dark material as the surrounding walls. Its actual height was difficult to judge, as it vanished into the darkness overhead, while a barrier remain there, to prevent anyone going up.

"Nice trick."

Luke didn’t even bother moving from where he stood.

The darkness spears were already descending toward him, yet his posture remained completely relaxed, as though the attack raining down from above wasn’t worth taking seriously.

Ivar’s lips curled into a sneer.

’Arrogant’

Finally, the first darkness spear reached Luke.

Its sharp tip came within a hair’s breadth of his body.

Then, something strange happened.

The spear’s terrifying speed suddenly slowed to an extreme degree, as though the space around Luke had become an invisible swamp that dragged everything entering it to a crawl.

Luke merely shifted one step to the side.

The spear passed harmlessly beside his left hand before crashing into the ground.

BOOM!

Darkness erupted from the impact like a bomb had detonated, yet the floor remained completely undamaged.

However, Neither Ivar nor Isaria paid much attention to the explosion.

Their eyes were fixed entirely on Luke.

Another spear descended.

Again, the instant it approached him, its speed dropped to an almost imperceptible level.

Luke moved.

Then another spear came.

He moved again.

A slight sidestep when one passed toward his chest, a subtle turn when another aimed for his neck, and merely tilting his head was enough to avoid the one that came for his head.

Every movement was minimal and precise.

To an ordinary observer, it would have looked as though Luke was standing still while the spears somehow kept missing him.

But Ivar and Isaria could see what was actually happening.

Their owl vision allowed them to perceive the phenomenon clearly, while anyone without sufficiently powerful eyes would have struggled to notice it at all.

The closer the darkness spears came to Luke, the more dramatically their speed was reduced.

And Luke simply used that moment to evade them.

One after another, thousands of spears missed their target and crashed into the ground.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Explosions of darkness continued to erupt throughout the enormous pathway, filling the air with destructive force.

Yet when the final spear struck the ground, the result remained the same.

Luke was still standing there.

His clothes were untouched.

His body hadn’t moved more than necessary.

And there wasn’t even a scratch on him.

"IMPOSSIBLE!"

Ivar’s pupils shrank as disbelief overwhelmed his entire expression.

What he had just witnessed went beyond anything he could explain. The thousands of darkness spears had been fast enough to overwhelm a Peak C-Rank being, yet the moment they approached Luke, their speed had slowed to the point where he could simply step aside and avoid them.

It was as though the very flow of time around Luke had been altered.

’But the Time element is forbidden!’

Ivar’s heart began pounding harder as that realization surfaced.

Time was one of the few powers that Valtharion itself had never permitted its inhabitants to control. Not mortals, not Kings, not even Gods.

Only Valtharion itself possessed the right to manipulate it.

’Then how is he doing this?’

No matter how many times Ivar replayed what he had seen, he couldn’t come up with an answer.

Something that should have been impossible had just happened directly in front of him.

Meanwhile, Luke watched the disbelief spread across Ivar’s face and nodded in satisfaction.

His expression carried a hint of pride.

After all, the reason he had been able to evade those attacks so effortlessly wasn’t because his speed had suddenly become faster.

He had simply used the fourth ability of Nyx, the Void Titan.

The same ability, he used to remain safe, under earlier Ivar shockwave released.

[Nyx - The Void Titan]

[Fourth Ability: Void Horizon]

- Creates a thin layer of distorted Void Space around the body

- Expands the distance between attack and user

- Incoming attacks lose energy and momentum the farther they travel

- Distance is determined by Void Energy consumption

[Current Maximum Distance: Based on energy output]

[Cost: Variable (scales with distance)]

[Duration: Continuous]

"The Void does not block. It simply makes the journey... infinite."

----

The reason was actually quite simple.

Whenever one of those darkness spears came within range of Luke, its tip entered the distorted layer of void space surrounding his body.

Using only ten percent of his energy, Luke could stretch the distance within that layer to an entire kilometer.

So although the spears had originally been moving with terrifying speed, they suddenly had another kilometer to cross before reaching him. During that time, their power gradually weakened from the distance, while the extra travel time gave Luke enough of an opening to evade them.

Even though the difference existed only within fractions of a second, that tiny window was already enough for Luke to move.

’Finally, Nyx’s defensive ability has also unlocked.’

A genuine smile of satisfaction spread across Luke’s face.

Nyx already possessed cloning, stealth, and offensive abilities, leaving defense as the only missing piece.

Now, that weakness had finally been filled.

And Luke couldn’t help but be pleased with what he had received.

So, his satisfied gaze shifted toward Ivar.

The expression on the latter’s face had become increasingly ugly.

He had already thrown one attack after another at Luke, yet none of them had worked.

Now, he couldn’t even figure out how he was supposed to attack him.

Seeing his helpless expression, Luke’s lips curled upward.

"Well, I guess it’s time for us to separate, Ivar."

He took a step forward.

Step.

Ivar’s body instinctively moved backward.

The moment he realized what he had done, his expression stiffened.

He had actually retreated.

’From an D-Rank Knight?’

The realization was humiliating enough to make his eyes burn with anger.

’I can’t accept this!’

Ivar clenched his teeth before glaring at Luke.

"Don’t underestimate me!"

His furious shout echoed through the pathway.

The next instant, the aura around his body erupted violently as he unleashed his ultimate innate ability.

The attack he trusted most.

The attack that, in his mind, was powerful enough to kill Luke.

"Gravewing: Dead Star."

Ivar uttered the name of his ultimate innate ability.

A tiny black star immediately appeared above his palm.

It pulsed slowly with every breath he took, and each pulse caused the surrounding light to dim further. The darkness wasn’t merely spreading; the Dead Star was actively devouring everything around it-light, energy, and even the faint traces of power lingering in the air.

Ivar stared at Luke with eyes filled with anger.

"I shouldn’t normally use this ability."

His voice carried a trace of seriousness.

"It requires other lifeforms to feed it before it can unleash its full power."

Yet the restraint in his voice soon disappeared.

A sadistic smile crept across his face, showing that he no longer cared about what happened next.

"But there is another way to make this Dead Star grow instantly."

Luke raised a brow.

Rather than becoming wary, he looked genuinely curious.

He wasn’t in any hurry to kill Ivar. His Titan instincts hadn’t reacted at all, which meant whatever Ivar was about to unleash shouldn’t be enough to threaten him.

So Luke simply waited.

Ivar’s smile widened as he continued.

"You called yourself the Hero of Light."

The moment those words left his mouth, his body underwent a drastic change.

His youthful face suddenly sank and withered, as though hundreds of years had been forced upon him in an instant. The healthy skin covering his body dried up as well, losing its vitality as his life force rapidly drained away.

’So he’s using his own life force.’ Luke immediately understood.

He had already figured out the second method Ivar was talking about.

The Dead Star in his palm suddenly began to swell.

What had previously been no larger than a tennis ball expanded at an astonishing rate, growing larger and larger within moments.

Soon, the tiny black star had reached a diameter of nearly one meter.
