Lucy ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍shot up from the hard wooden bed like a launched projectile, her head going “thud” as it slammed into the ceiling—even though this shabby single room didn’t even have a bunk above, her jump scraped her scalp against the dusty ceiling.

“Ow ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍ow ow…”

Clutching ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍her head, Lucy rolled back onto the bed, tears instantly streaming down.

Wait.

Why ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍did the tears feel so burning hot?

She trembled as she grabbed the broken mirror by the bedside and looked at herself.

The woman in the mirror had hair exploded into a mess like a chicken coop struck by lightning. Her eyes were swollen like overripe peaches, filled with red veins, while her pupils had shrunk to needlepoints, flickering with a green glow like a starving wolf spotting meat.

Lucy opened her mouth wide, feeling like her throat was on fire.

Not just her throat.

Starting from her stomach, an indescribable heat was continuously pumping energy into every limb and bone. Her heart pounded as if it would smash through her ribs. Every blood vessel seemed to be cheering, and even her newly grown leg was faintly burning.

Restless heat.

Right now, she felt like she could tear apart a Minotaur with her bare hands, or sprint around the Palace of Eternal Night for an entire day.

“What… did I eat last night again?”

Lucy’s memory blanked out for a moment.

“Was it because it tasted too good that I got overheated from excitement?” Lucy scratched her messy hair, trying to calm herself.

But the irritation was like mosquitoes trapped inside a summer net—impossible to get rid of.

Everything she looked at annoyed her.

That broken clay cup for drinking water—so crooked, she wanted to smash it.

That three-legged table—wobbling like crazy, she wanted to tear it apart.

Even the spider weaving a web in the corner seemed so slow she had the urge to rush over and help it.

“Calm down… Lucy, you need to calm down…”

She took a deep breath, trying to silently recite the Church’s calming mantra.

“May the Holy Light soothe—soothe my ass!”

Halfway through, she only wanted to rip apart that nonexistent scripture.

It felt like a furious little beast was rampaging inside her body, smashing into everything.

No, she needed to do something.

If she couldn’t calm down, then she would work! Burn off this damn excess energy!

Lucy yanked the door open and shot out like a cannonball.

The corridor that usually made her legs go weak felt like it ended before it even began under her feet today.

She didn’t even want to walk properly.

Seeing a railing made her want to vault over it. Seeing stairs made her want to jump them. When she passed the two patrolling skeleton soldiers, she almost couldn’t resist rushing over to twist off their skulls and use them as balls.

The skeleton soldiers only felt a gust of wind rush past. The force made their hollow eye sockets whistle. The two skeletons stared at each other, their jaws nearly dropping to the ground.

“What… was that just now?”

“Looked like… that new crippled gardener?”

“Her leg got fixed and now she can fly? That’s not scientific, right?”

……

The door to the Document Department was right ahead.

Lucy slammed to a halt, her shoes screeching against the stone floor, even producing a faint wisp of smoke.

She took a deep breath, adjusted her completely useless messy bangs, and pushed the door open.

“Morning everyone! Let’s stay ener—”

Her voice abruptly stopped.

The expected scene—smoky chaos, suffocating perfume, and a room full of swaying thighs and chests—didn’t appear.

Empty.

Dozens of desks were scattered around, piled with unfinished documents and leftover takeout boxes from last night. There were even a few lace undergarments casually thrown over chair backs.

But there was no one.

Those succubi who were usually noisier than a flock of ducks—none of them were here.

“Where is everyone?”

Lucy blinked, that restless agitation rising again.

Right.

Last night, they had gone to some tavern for “team bonding.”

With the way Fiona drank, they were probably still crawling out of some gutter—or someone’s bed.

Lucy cursed angrily and plopped down onto her shabby chair.

The chair let out a miserable “creak,” clearly startled by the sudden weight.

No one was fine.

No one meant no noise. No one meant she could focus on work. And focusing on work meant she could—

Could my ass!

Lucy stared at the unfinished reports in front of her. The numbers seemed to be dancing, mocking her one by one.

“Hot… so hot…”

She tugged at her collar irritably, trying to let even a sliver of cool air in.

It was useless.

The heat was rising from deep within her bones, climbing up her spine, burning her scalp numb. Even her vision started to blur slightly.

Even the lingering cheap perfume scent in the air—which usually made her want to vomit—now somehow…

Felt a little sweet?

A little… pleasant?

Lucy shook her head violently, feeling like she had gone insane.

At that moment—

A rhythmic sound of high heels echoed from outside the door.

“Tap, tap, tap.”

Each step seemed to land directly on one’s heartbeat.

Lazy, casual, yet carrying an undeniable pressure.

The door opened.

A figure in purple walked in.

Lucy subconsciously looked up.

The next second, her pupils shrank sharply, and a loud gulp echoed in her throat.

The woman who entered was tall.

She wore a deep purple dress that could barely be called one—more like a few strips of fabric pieced together. Large areas of snow-white skin were exposed without restraint, shimmering with a dazzling milky glow as she moved.

Camilla.

Lucy’s gaze seemed glued in place, locked tightly onto Camilla.

In her bloodshot, overly excited eyes, Camilla seemed to carry a ten-level soft-focus filter.

That slightly swaying waist when she walked… so soft.

Those long legs in high heels… so straight.

That full chest that looked ready to overflow… so… so want to—

“Smack!”

Lucy slapped herself hard across the face.

What are you thinking, Lucy?!

You’re a priest! A servant of the Holy Light! Even if you’re now an undocumented laborer, your soul is still pure!

How could you have such blasphemous thoughts toward a female demon?!

That’s heresy! That’s corruption! That’s something that’ll send you to hell—oh wait, I’m already in hell.
