Chapter 675 - 418: Augmentation Apex

The night was deep and the cold moonlight fell on the devastated battleground, illuminating the entangled bodies of two Azure Wolves.

Python Poison?!

As soon as Hansen spoke, confusion flashed in Fenrir’s eyes. She tried to stand firm, but her knees buckled involuntarily, causing her to half kneel on the ground.

She looked at the wound that had just been torn open, showing signs of some degree of corruption. The blood flowing from it had turned dark brown due to infection and emitted a foul stench.

Looking at Hansen again, she noticed a few inconspicuous sharp spikes at the tips of his claws, from which a black liquid slowly dripped, leaving ink-like marks on the ground.

Hansen stood tall like a victor, his mane gleaming coldly under the moonlight, his eyes concealed a sinister glint.

"This is a toxin I got from a ’Divine Protection High Tier’ Python Poison Blood Code Carrier in the company. An engineer used a special device to contain it in my nails, allowing me to control its usage."

"Actually, I didn’t intend to use this at first. It was rare to encounter a fellow ’High Tier Black King’ Blood Code Carrier, and especially one with the same ’Azure Wolf Blood Code,’ I was quite eager to have a fair and square fight with you to see who’s superior."

At this point, Hansen’s narrow beast eyes squinted, exposing his wolfish grin: "But you seem to be a bit more troublesome than I imagined."

"Continuing to fight like before isn’t impossible, but if anything goes wrong, I’m afraid I can’t bear the responsibility, haha."

Fenrir’s black wolf mane was already drenched in sweat, thick and viscous like glue due to the poison, dripping continuously down her body. She painfully squinted her eyes, her breathing becoming unusually rapid, as her claws unconsciously covered her heart.

Neither Fenrir herself nor the Giant Warriors witnessing this scene expected the battle to end with Hansen covertly poisoning.

Hansen was notoriously battle-hungry at the company’s headquarters. Without peers of the same level, he often trained by calling several Divine Protection Level Blood Code experts for sparring.

And even then he had to hold back, since unleashing real skills could accidentally cause severe injury or death to the sparring partners, which would be a loss for the entire company and was not allowed.

Every end of training, Hansen complained that it wasn’t satisfying enough.

After learning that Fenrir had raised the wolf banner again in the Land of No Master and refined her Blood Code to High Tier Black King, Hansen proposed more than once to confront Fenrir face-to-face, deciding the outcome with pure strength.

Yet, unexpectedly, he finally faced Fenrir in a showdown at the Capital City and resorted to such a nasty trick as poisoning.

Of course, no one would say much about it.

This kind of battle is life and death, adjust strategies when things go wrong, and use everything available. Charging blindly down one road is foolish.

As for the matter of honor.

Please, are you acting in a heroic opera?

Only those who live get to enjoy honor.

The dead are just a pile of rotten meat.

Fenrir’s current predicament was her own fault for not being cautious and not guarding against Hansen’s countermeasures.

Hansen casually walked up to Fenrir, who was paralyzed by the Python Poison, and unceremoniously kicked her down, grinning fiercely: "The Python Poison from a Divine Protection High Tier won’t kill a High Tier Black King like you, but it’ll severely impact your bodily functions."

"We are both carriers of the same level and type of Blood Code; our combat experience is also similar, meaning our skills are on par. Any little variable could influence the outcome."

"And now, as the Python Poison spreads throughout your body, your muscles start to weaken, creating an insurmountable gap between us. I will easily win this fight."

"Next up, it’s massacre time!"

In an instant, Hansen let out a wolf howl, his entire being transforming into a twisting black shadow, charging at Fenrir with overwhelming force.

Fenrir wanted to fight back, but her body had grown extremely weak due to the Python Poison.

The Azure Wolf Blood Code gets stronger the more injured it is, and poisoning counts as an injury.

This is why sometimes extreme Azure Wolf Blood Code Carriers would poison themselves before a battle, relying on the sustained damage from the poison to trigger the Blood Code for a strength boost.

However, the ’gains’ from relying on poison are limited. With a controlled dose, benefits naturally outweigh drawbacks.

But the poison Hansen used wasn’t ordinary; it targeted the genetic level. Its destructive power was significant, especially since it was extracted from a Divine Protection High Tier carrier.

This level of Python Poison caused damage far beyond any benefit, immediately dragging Fenrir into a dire situation.

The weakened Fenrir found herself outmatched by Hansen’s strength, her movements sluggish and powerless. She tried to raise her arm to block Hansen’s attack but was met with an unprecedented pressure.

With a "Boom!" Hansen struck Fenrir, the impact spreading from the hit point across her entire body, almost tearing her flesh and bones apart, causing excruciating pain.

The next moment, Hansen’s right leg exploded with muscle expansion, delivering a rapid knee strike to Fenrir’s front, the tremendous force directly caving in her abdomen, spewing out large amounts of black blood mixed with bits of internal organs.

Fenrir crashed heavily to the ground, and Hansen gave her no chance to breathe, slashing across her face with claws, tearing away a large piece of flesh.
