After Beating the Game, I Became the Villain BOSS

Chapter 664 - 412: Death Charge (Part 2)

  • Next Chapter

In less than half a day of battle, the rebel forces suffered losses exceeding the total casualties of both sides during the Iron Sun Campaign, utterly crushing every battle in human history.

No one knows how the rebels managed to reach this point, maintaining their morale completely intact.

Even less do they understand how their command could be so ruthless, treating subordinates entirely as expendable resources, tossing soldiers onto the battlefield as if discarding trash.

The Capital Soldiers started with the excitement of executing saturation strikes, then witnessed excessive casualties and fell into confusion, now fully desensitized.

Looking around, every corner left only "explosion" and "death."

Only the sounds of heavy artillery fire and explosions lingered in their ears, absent were the screams and wails that should be present in war.

They killed without feeling anything.

Everyone just mechanically executed attack operations, loading, firing, reloading... at times they couldn’t distinguish whether they were on a real battlefield or stuck in a video game.

As the Capital Soldiers fired numbly, the nightmare finally descended.

"Boom!" With a deafening explosion, a fortress heavy cannon couldn’t withstand the long hours of continuous firing, and its internal core temperature overwhelmed the coolant, causing it to explode directly on the city wall.

The destructive energy from the damaged core ravaged its surroundings, dozens of soldiers were tragically affected, faces bloodied on the ground shrieking, while the operator at the console died with no remains.

This was not an isolated incident, merely the beginning.

Due to over eight hours of uninterrupted firing, all heavy firepower equipment used to suppress enemy charges was already in a state of overload.

This fortress cannon’s explosion unveiled the prelude, drawing the curtain of disaster.

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

"Boom..."

Cannon core temperatures reached their limits repeatedly, either exploding directly or internal components melting into silence.

Heavy machine guns and artillery positions followed suit, gun barrels melted, cannon chambers twisted, all heavy machinery reached the brink of failure, indifferent to human will, utterly reaching objective limits.

When weapons malfunctioned, the Capital Soldiers’ firepower net inevitably began to weaken.

During the previous 8 hours, they slaughtered over 600,000 enemies, a density of damage no army in human history could withstand.

But this rebel army achieved it, their momentum showed no sign of weakening from the start, every individual truly ignored casualties and costs, conducting extreme cold-blooded assaults.

Like...

Endless Worker Bees.

Soon, taking advantage of the Capital Soldiers’ declining firepower, the first batch of organized rebel troops crossed minefields and fire nets, reaching under the Capital City.

The Capital Soldiers were utterly horrified.

In their expectations, under normal circumstances, this should have been a protracted tug-of-war.

The outer minefields would become the greatest obstacle to the rebels, to cross this death hell, they would need at least three months of de-mining.

During this process, they faced countless mines beneath their feet, and constant artillery suppression, ever-present death shadowing them, eroding their will.

In such a long period, whether it was mobilizing forces from other places for a joint strike or dispatching special units across the Inland Sea to penetrate deep into enemy territory, there could be significant variables.

But the Capital City never thought that all they expected hadn’t happened.

Their originally capable of lasting at least three months minefield was trampled by enemies, costing over 600,000 lives, only delaying them for 8 hours, 13 minutes, and 27 seconds.

The first wave of enemies charged massively to the foot of the wall, promptly beginning a very ancient siege method—scaling the walls.

These soldiers spontaneously divided into two groups, one providing suppressing fire on the city wall, preventing the defending soldiers from interfering below.

The other group placed their hands into the wall, their limb strength immense, directly digging holes in the wall with their fingers, climbing up barehanded.

Some of the defending troops barely observed this through gunfire, exclaiming, "Are these Extraordinary Beings?!"

To climb barehanded creating pits in a metal wall, absolutely impossible for ordinary soldiers.

What kind of tactic is this?!

In this era of warfare modes, any commander with a hint of military knowledge knows that Extraordinary Beings, due to their powerful abilities and rarity, should be used as sharp knives to execute special missions.

Storming defenses amidst gunfire? That’s the task of normal cannon fodder and armored troops.

Yet now, the rebels were deploying these Extraordinary Beings to eat artillery fire, human mine-clearing, brainless assaults sending them to their deaths, what were they thinking?!

More crucially, where did the rebels get so many Extraordinary Beings?!

Amidst the Capital Soldiers’ amazement, those crossing the fire line really seemed unstoppable, climbing the surface of the wall like dense swarm of bees, quickly reaching dozens of meters atop the city.

The first rebel soldier climbing up faced a saber slashing straight at him.

"Splat!" The saber, full of force, sliced into his skull, deeply embedded inside.

This rebel soldier’s skull was destroyed, soon falling backward, but as he fell, he grabbed the defender who cut him, pulling him down the wall with.

"Ah!!!" The Capital Soldier flailed his limbs wildly in the air, grabbing nothing, finally crashing to the ground with the rebel who dragged him down, bones crushed, ceased movement.

This scream unveiled the slaughter’s beginning, a bloody and brutal close-quarters battle started.

All along the walls, rebel soldiers climbed in, Capital Soldiers firing various light and heavy machine guns almost against their heads, causing hundreds of casualties every second.

But these rebel soldiers completely ignored death, like machines programmed only to execute commands, without the moans of wounded or dying, no shouts to bolster courage, not even facial expressions, just silence, just forward.

A rebel soldier lunged at the nearest enemy, grasping his head with both hands, exerting force.

"Crack..." Amidst the scalp-nerving sound of skull fracturing, the Capital Soldier screamed for less than two seconds before his head was forcibly crushed.

The rebel soldier attempted to assault another, but a seasoned Capital Soldier circled behind, wielding an engineer’s shovel at his neck.

"Splat!"

The rebel soldier’s neck was directly severed two-thirds, his head twisted, seeming it might fall off any moment.

Yet, frighteningly, he completely ignored such injuries, grabbing back at the ambushing enemy, intending a one-for-one exchange.

Fortunately, this Capital Soldier was a veteran, rich in combat experience, he decisively abandoned the shovel stuck in the enemy’s neck, rolling back swiftly while extracting a pistol, emptying the magazine in a series of shots.

After this sequence of strikes, the rebel soldier’s riddled body finally succumbed, falling to the ground.

At this moment, the Capital Soldier noticed something amiss.

Having been at a distance before, amidst constant bombardments and smoke, it was hard to see details.

Now, in close combat, the enemy’s oddity finally revealed.

These rebel soldiers... do not bleed!

Although they possess human form, when their bodies are pierced, what is exposed is not flesh and bone, but a kind of inorganic metal with a peculiar luster!

This grotesque physical structure, bizarre strength, in addition to earlier extreme cold-blooded suicidal charges, finally revealed the horrifying truth to the Capital Soldiers.

"These are not humans!!! "

Other lines of the Capital Soldiers also discovered this during melee, immediately stirred to an uproar.

The enemies they battled all along, from start to finish, were not human!

They indeed had human looks, but whether by internal behavioral patterns or external physical structures, they weren’t human!
