Chapter 83: Chu Family Territory Emptied

When the two women got close to the Chu family territory, they were surprised to see that the place was completely empty. Not even a single person was left at this place.

Not only were there no people, but all valuables were also taken, as every home was completely barren.

It was as if the Chu family had just disappeared out of nowhere, and this was far too clean. There was no damage anywhere, and it was as if the Chu family had just packed up and left.

This didn’t make sense, as the Chu family was a large family. It would take large amounts of effort to completely move everything like this. Them just being gone in such a short time was very strange.

As Bai Yanfei and Bai Yue looked around for clues, they couldn’t find anything, as everything was truly emptied out. Not even the slightest valuable was left behind, as everything was taken.

Bai Yanfei couldn’t understand just what had happened, as them simply running away didn’t feel right. They should have at least fought back somewhat before leaving, but they were just gone without a word.

Unable to find anything, Bai Yanfei and Bai Yue went back to regroup with Jiang Yun to hear his opinion on the matter.

After explaining what they saw, the two women asked if he could think of any explanations as to what had happened.

"They must have had a scout to watch over your battle with the Murong family," Jiang Yun explained his opinion. "There should have been enough time for them to receive the news and leave, considering how long it took to organize the slaves."

"But that doesn’t make sense," Bai Yanfei questioned. "Such a large family can’t be so cowardly as to just abandon their territory and just leave at the slightest threat. They wouldn’t have become such a powerful family if they were this weak."

"It does make sense," Bai Yue interjected. "If they aren’t confident in defeating us, escaping is indeed the correct decision. It’s better to escape than to fight a battle that might end in their death. Not to mention, territory is just land and can be reclaimed later on."

"I suppose you’re right," Bai Yanfei sighed, still not wanting to believe in such an explanation. "Now that they are gone, what should we do now? We can’t exactly let them be a hidden danger in the future and grow, but how do we even find them now that they are gone?"

"Just leave it to Jiang Yun," Bai Yue answered. "He should be able to find out anything, as he always manages to know where to go."

Bai Yanfei was slightly skeptical and looked at Jiang Yun to see if what Bai Yue said was true.

Jiang Yun gave a quick nod as he started to look for where the Chu family had left to. After quickly using the power of rules, Jiang Yun found where the Chu family had gone.

"The main power of the Chu family has gone to your Bai family to cause trouble," Jiang Yun answered. "The rest of the Chu family that are unable to fight are hidden in a safe place nearby, waiting for your Bai family to fall."

"What, they dare attack my Bai family?" Bai Yanfei replied in shock. "We came to find them, but they dared to come looking for trouble at my family first."

"That’s correct, so would you like to head back now to deal with them?" Jiang Yun asked.

"Let’s go quickly," Bai Yanfei urged. "I’m not sure if my father can handle it if we leave them alone for too long."

Bai Yue nodded as she agreed, and the three started heading back to the Bai family to continue eliminating the Chu family.

Once the three arrived, the Bai family was now in turmoil, as a strong group was attacking the Bai family in full force.

Bai Yanfei watched as two late-stage Immortal Kings battled against her father, as well as several Golden Immortals fighting against the rest of the Bai family.

The situation wasn’t great, as the Bai family was barely holding on.

"I have never seen the Chu family attack this hard despite them attacking us for over ten years," Bai Yanfei noted in surprise. "It seems this time they really want to try and eliminate my Bai family."

"Should we go and help?" Bai Yue asked.

"I don’t particularly care about the rest of the Bai family, but we should go and help my father first," Bai Yanfei replied. "He may be strict, but he means well."

"Let’s go then and help him fight off those two Immortal Kings," Bai Yue agreed.

The two women rushed towards the patriarch of the Bai family, while Jiang Yun remained behind to continue watching. It was not his turn to act, as he had no real reason to save the Bai family from this crisis.

Bai Peng was having a hard time fighting off the two late-stage Immortal Kings and couldn’t spare his attention for the rest of the Bai family being attacked. Wondering what to do, he soon saw two figures approaching.

Curious if it was more enemies or allies, Bai Peng became defensive to prepare for either result. Bai Peng was pleasantly surprised when Bai Yanfei and Bai Yue came to help him fight off one of the Immortal Kings.

Finally having his burden alleviated, he quickly began to kill the other late-stage Immortal King that remained.

The once disadvantaged situation soon turned advantageous, as Bai Peng was a peak Immortal King, and fighting off just a single late-stage Immortal King was relatively easy.

After a couple of exchanges, Bai Peng was in the winning position and killed off the Immortal King he was fighting. Nearby, Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei were still fighting against the other late-stage Immortal King.

Bai Peng wanted to help but soon didn’t need to, as Bai Yue dealt a fatal blow to the Immortal King’s neck, and Bai Yanfei finished him off by cutting off his head.

"You both have grown quite strong," Bai Peng complimented, seeing his daughter and granddaughter killing a late-stage Immortal King.

"He was quite weak for a late-stage Immortal King," Bai Yue commented. "Compared to the late-stage Immortal Kings from the Yang and Murong families, this man was significantly weaker."

"We have just gotten stronger," Bai Yanfei explained. "It’s not that he was weak, but we are now strong."

"Really?" Bai Yue asked in disbelief. "I don’t feel like I have gotten that much stronger."

"Believe it or not, but it's true," Bai Yanfei stated, trying to convince Bai Yue.

"Let’s leave that aside and deal with the rest of the Chu family," Bai Peng urged. "The rest of the family is in danger, and we should save them."

"Fine," Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei replied, still reluctant to do so.

The three then split up to kill the rest of the Chu family, as the rest of them weren’t worth mentioning, with the strongest now being only Golden Immortals.

It didn’t take long for three Immortal Kings to sweep through the battlefield and kill the rest of the Chu family members that were attacking.

Many of the Chu family members tried to run as the situation was unfavorable, but they were soon killed, having not reached very far.

Once the ground was piled up with corpses of Chu family members, the invasion had ended, as all Chu family members present had been killed.

Bai Peng quickly conducted a survey on damages and found that some casualties occurred, but it didn’t affect the family by much. The battle could be said to be a complete victory on the Bai family’s side.

"Thank you for helping the family," Bai Peng expressed to his daughter and granddaughter. "I know you both aren’t particularly fond of this family, but we all still share blood."

"We just wanted to kill off the Chu family," Bai Yue replied. "It wasn’t for the family’s sake."

"I know, but I’m still grateful," Bai Peng replied.

Nearby, Bai Hao watched as his sister was being praised by his father. During the invasion, he didn’t achieve much and was now hiding in embarrassment. Trying to sneak away, Bai Hao tried to hide until things blew over.

Bai Yanfei saw this and didn’t react, as she had no good feelings for her brother. Instead, she had other matters she wanted to address.

"Let’s go and eliminate the rest of the Chu family," Bai Yanfei noted to Bai Yue. "This can’t be all of them, and we should kill the rest of them in case they grow to be a threat one day."

"We should hurry then," Bai Yue replied. "They should be nearby and might run away once they find out their main combat forces have died."

The two women rushed out and began searching for the rest of the Chu family who were in hiding.

It didn’t take long to find them, as they were trying to escape the Bai family and made an obvious mistake that revealed their location.

The Chu family members left weren’t worth mentioning and were soon eliminated by Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei.

After they finished, they collected the valuables that the Chu family had taken with them and soon went back to the Bai family territory.

Upon arriving back, they saw a robed figure threateningly holding Bai Peng up by the neck.

"What happened while we were gone?" Bai Yanfei asked in shock.
